Just got it and after taking the time to got thru each update I can say that while not perfect, its a lot better then anticipated. still has some software glitches , but the phone itself is a beauty to behold. With Microsoft saying that they will continue support thru updates for 3 years I would give it a try. BTW ... I see it and use it more as a portable tablet ... gorgeous screen ... then as a phone. Also , the camera isnt great but not as bad as many make it out to be.

In a lot of way the duo is a little step back from what I'm used to in a phone. There's no wireless charging, using the camera is a pain and it's a little bulky. I do however like it overall. I have larger fingers and having the keyboard be larger on the bottom screen has helped my typing speed. Looking at 2 applications at the same time helps ever day. Some of the usability functions still need a little work. Battery life need improvement.

I really like my new Duo! Way better than the reviews and I think it is better than the Samsung Fold. It feels durable and is very thin. Despite the large screens, it fits in my pocket with ease. Battery life is only so-so but given how thin it is it makes sense. It is responsive and i love being able to do two things at once!

Great for productivity because it allows for running an app on each screen. But it was really janky and I encountered a lot of glitches. If the price was lower I could live with the problems, but at $1100.00 it was not a keeper.

This is such a joy to have. A multitasking machine made in heaven. The hardware is beautiful. The software has massive potential. The only real downside is the camera but other than that I do think it is truly next gen stuff. Don't listen to YouTube reviews. This device is a must have for Christmas!

I am loving this phone. It is great to be able to have two items open at once. I have found that it will occasionally get "stuck" in an app and I will have to turn off the screen to be able to close the app. This is only a minor inconvenience to me.

I am in love with it. Zero lag and bugs, it is just pure awesomeness. Takes a little getting used to but I am on day 2 now and it feels natural and normal. Love the screens and the battery life. The phone looks so nice holding it or seeing it on the table haha. Only small issue I had was facebook messenger chat head not working right but thats a software issue Facebook will have to fix. Just disable chat heads and good to go until they release an update. I have matte screen protectors on it and it looks really nice. Waiting for my dbrand skins still for the exterior. Feels and looks like a premium product. PS: Make sure to do the android software update before really trying the phone. Will only get better with time as new updates and features come out.

Good phone. I love that I can do two things on two different screens at the same time. But can be better and I will get the 2nd version because I believe it will be great. Also, I hear the caee interfere with the phone so get a pop socket. I use it especially when I am talking and I hold with one hand.

I love my new Surface Duo. It is a unique form factor that is executed extremely well by Microsoft in terms of design. The software definitely feels rushed, to the point that many early reviewers did not like the overall experience. Having known I'm getting myself into a gen1 device, I wasn't disappointed at all. Surface lineup has always been trend-setting, and this is no exception. This device is pure work of art. It allows so many different modes of use and scenarios that improve productivity on a daily basis. The ability to fold all the way around turns it into a normal single-screen smartphone, eliminating the need for having an outside screen. I sometimes just leave it folded inside out! The battery life is surprisingly good too. Overall, five stars from me and hope they get all of the software bugs and annoyances out of the way soon!

I have had this phone for over a year now. At first it was troublesome to get used to. As I learned how to use this phone and new OS updates came out, it's ease of use is great. Having to screens is great for me. Especially when trying to manage two apps at once.

This phone is great for multi taskers how generally switch from app to app or to be productive with work. But that's it. For an average cell phone user, it's okay. The most difficult task for me since owning the device is answering phone calls. Which is why I'll be returning this.. That and the fact the price dropped tremendously and Microsoft response was return it and buy a new one. But besides the point. I admited this phones limitations when I got in an accident and I needed to be on speaker phone and on the call with my agent and the same time but I couldn't hear anything they were saying even on speaker

Why I did not give this product a 5 star rating, lost one star due to camera picture quality and list another due to the lack of enabling the wi-if calling feature on my Verizon network for the unlock version. I don’t know if it is the same for ATT customers and I am bot sure if it is a feature that will be available on a software update. I could not wait due to return policy for the update so I returned the product. Should the Surface Duo cost less, I would have gave it a 5 star because they are on the right track and it hurt me returning the product.

Very enjoyable phone. I have not experienced the major widespread issues that some may be experiencing but once in a while I do experience one of the screens turning black. It seems like it happens when I do certain actions only but can quickly be remedied by closing the phone and reopening or hitting the sleep button twice. It happens rarely anyway. The phone may not have many apps that take advantage of the dual screen, but I find it invaluable to be able to use two apps side by side. I don't think I can go backwards with a single screen phone again. I prefer this over a phone that widens such as Samsung's foldable phones.

The phone has some very nice features, however the dual screen takes some getting used to as I use features and I use a lot of swipe motions sometimes windows will slide from one screen to another when I am using the phone.

What a fun phone! I have to admit I spend most of my time playing Need for Speed across both screens, not doing much in the way of productivity. If you're looking for a camera, probably you should pass on the Surface Duo. It's the most awkward camera to use in the known world. It's default position is facing you. To take a picture, you have to fold the phone and point it at your subject if you're not taking a selfie. The active screen doesn't always switch as desired and there are some awkward hinge flips trying to get the camera and phone in sync with what you're attempting to do. The phone has a robust hinge and feels very sturdy. In fact, I've already knocked it off of my night stand and on to the floor without damage (not a recommended practice). Thank goodness Microsoft includes a bumper style case. You'll have issues if you would like to buy a unique case, as most of the cases on the market won't allow you to fold the phone fully open. Not a deal breaker I guess, but the bumper case from Microsoft seems the most practical. The screen is vibrant. The battery lasts a long time even when the phone is open running both screens. That's how I watch movies, but be aware, the dual screen causes the movie to have a giant split down the middle if you watch it that way. It's not seemless, it actually just leaves out the middle portion of the visible movie. The speaker is atrocious. Quite possibly the worst speaker on the market. Thank goodness for the prevalence of wireless headphones. Bluetooth pairs seamlessly with everything I've tried so far... headphones, autos, stereos, etc... The screens can be a little awkward when using the phone in single screen mode. You're supposed to be able to double tap the screen and have it switch to the side you're viewing. That function seems to work about 25% of the time. Knowing it's a bit of an awkward, quirky phone, and with the improvements it could use, I'd still buy it again. It's fun.

This is a mobile productivity device that makes phone calls. If you go into purchasing this device with that in mind then you'll be pleasantly satisfied. But if you purchase this looking for the best camera or top the line or latest processor then you'll be disappointed. Phone calls and camera are okay. But battery life and the ability to have two apps open simultaneously provide some interesting use case scenarios. Business professionals will like this device but average users will find it too costly, too big and too different.

This phone is great for the most part. It is a bit quirky at times when it is trying to determine whether it should be in tablet mode or not. This usually only happens when you tilt the phone a certain way.... like if you're laying down on the bed and trying to do something with it. It is also a little quirky at times if you open and close it repetitively within a short period of time. It gets confused on whether it should be on one screen or two. Other than these things it's a solid phone. I do warn you that it can take some time to get used to the size of the phone. It can feel awkward if you're used to a smaller device.... Especially because the middle folds.

This device has been out 6 months now and the difference from when it first came out is night and day. There have been many software tweeks made to this device and it actually feels like a great software experience now. Battery is good. I can usually get through a whole day without charging it. There were a couple days that this wasn't the case, but I easily have 7-10 hours of onscreen activity a day. The fact that this is on sale now makes the price totally justified and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes to multi task or just wants a unique experience.
