I've had it since release date and it's been buggy here and there. But the phone is amazing. Multi-tasking is so easy noa that I have to screens. Never going back to a single screen!

Don't get me wrong I love this phone but the software still needs a lot of work. Screen rotation can be off, fingerprint scanner doesn't work sometimes. Background goes black randomly. I reboot my phone daily to fix hangups it has. All this is to be expected with a new concept like this. Anxiously awaiting the next software update.

What an awesome phone! The two screens are great. Seeing two apps at once or one app across both screens. For example, texting with both screens, one being a large keyboard. Or maps across both screens. Extremely well built, two glass screens as opposed to a flexible plastic screen that can break from flexing. The hinge down the middle, that makes it like two monitors on your computer, is not a problem for me.

I found the Surface Duo to be a great first attempt. The hardware is very nice. The two screens are great. The folding hinge works very well. The big issue is the software. There are glitches. Sometimes when you open the screen your wallpaper is not there. Just little things like that which can be addressed in a software update. I ended up returning this and going with galaxy z fold 2. Awesome device.

This is an amazfing mobile device. To me it's an android device that you can use to make a phone call. Please note, its's more than just a phone. The dual screens allow you to be mbore productive. You can connect to a Windows 10 PC with Remote Desktop and run any program from your Surface Duo. You can Zoom with the Duo. The best of both worlds, Android and Windows 10.

I bought this phone as a companion to my surface laptop. I love having all of my documents on the go that are important or that I need right away. I love the dual screen and that you can multitask and work on two different things at a time. Or have something open to reference on one screen while working on something else on the opposite screen. Yes it’s a phone too. I get asked that all of the time!

    About what I expected

I wanted to like this device, and it almost happened. I purchased this device (note I don't call it a phone) before I went on a 4 day trip so that I could use it in a variety of situations. For most, it worked mostly well. What I found was that when trying to work with apps on both screens, it was a bit clunky and didn't always react the way I wanted it to. For example, I had the device in tent configuration, play a podcast, but also showing maps in navigation mode. When the podcast was over, and I went to change the podcast (without changing the orientation), I would swipe down and select the podcast software (Googles Podcast App). What I expected to happen was that I would select the podcast app from the drop down menu, change the podcast I was listening to, then go back to maps. What actually happened is that maps went to the small map in the corner, and then it would switch constantly between maps and the podcast on the screen, like it couldn't make up its mind what it wanted to display. This was indicative of the overall experience. When I wanted to close apps, I had to do it twice, once for each screen. I liked the device, but it is not quite baked yet. I returned it and happily picked up my Pixel 4XL once again.

I am an early adopter to new devices and the Suface Duo has not not disappointed. My business relies heavy on the Office 365 platform so this device is a welcome extension of my pc as well as keeping me in the loop with Android. I do not consider this as a phone personally but more of business tool. . I can wait until Microsoft works out the software glitches. It has only been 1 week in response to the negative reviews.

    Frustrating Duo

The device is a great looking one and I like the idea behind it. Unfortunately, I have several software issues with it. For instance, it resets by itself, sometimes when opening it to answer a call there isn’t the green or red choice to take or reject the call, an Android facing up with a warning coming out of it chest, yet the frustration is communicating with Microsoft. No way I will recommend it.

Coming from an S10 plus and this phone is incredible. I almost passed on it because of the reviews online. This phone feels like the future. Two screens allow for so many use cases. Bugs have been minor. Seriously, the gestures work fine for me as well. It is like having a desktop experience in your pocket. Mind blown.

The surface duo is a cool form factor, feels great to use and after just a few days you'll find lots of great times when having that nicely synced 2nd screen is really helpful. Unfortunately, most of the popular online reviews of this phone are accurate. The amount of software bugs here are just to bad to pay the price tag for. My model whitescreen crashed on me within 48 hours, constant freezing, lag and usability problems make this not worth the money. When it runs, it is awesome but unfortunately the frequency is enough for me to return my 1-month preordered phone. I definitely consider myself someone who can overlook some minor stuff, but here there are just too many. I will be buying a cheap replacement and anxiously await the Duo 2, if the issues on this phone were resolved I would be very excited to pay the high price tag.

Finally something new and exciting … This device is a great multipurpose device. It is surprisingly thin and light but extremely well made. It is missing a couple of features notably the camera, it is average for photos but very good for video conferencing. Takes a little bit to get used to the gesture controls but once you use it for a week or 2 you will love it.

The dual screens are great for multitasking. The navigation gestures need a little work. They are not consistent. I swapped to the 3 button navigation with no issues. I have not used it as a phone. I bought it as a very portable tablet for productivity and for that it works great. There are not many cases and accessories yet. Hopefully more will be released soon.

No complaints so far. I love the Surface I was hesitant on getting it because what reviewers were saying about it. But I figured I would take it with a grain of salt and see for myself. I'm glad I did I like showing the phone off. When people see me flip the phone open I always get a lot of questions about it and goes into a demonstration.

This was a gods phone. However simple things were missing. No front facing camera and only one camera so you have to put it the exact way and it can be annoying. Service was so so. I wanted to wait to the 2nd edition. Bows the time

I love the idea of having a dual screen phone, when it works well I feel like I can get so much more done. The problem is the software is absolutely broken at times. The thing just shuts off randomly in my hand.

Love this device. I bought it so that I could watch twitch on one screen and text or look at Twitter on the other. It does what I expected it to do very well. Every now and then I would experience a screen glitch when opening but not enough to bother me. For $700 this is a great buy.
