So far so good!! Loving my little mini surface pro. As a long time surface pro user this is the coolest gadget. Heads up - the surface pro pens DO work and have a better rubber tip than the rechargeable pen that MUST have the case to be recharged.

Great phone, its pretty big. My only set back is that when you open it up, there is literally 2 different screens. I wish it would open up to be one whole screen, would've been really nice for watching videos or movies.

After the December update, most of the minor problem I encountered with the Duo 2 got eliminated. Hopefully, Mirosoft continue to support this unit to make it better.

This is a pretty nifty little device, but how much you love it will probably depend on how you use your phone. There are quite a few features I really like about this device. Web browsing is one of the top things that I do on my phone. The dual screen makes this so much better than on a traditional phone screen. I'm coming from a Google pixel XL, and was already accustomed to having a lot of real estate. The width of each screen makes it simpler to read and navigate web pages. The multitasking option is also awesome because you can have your browser up in one window and another app open in the other. So for example if I have a recipe up, then I can have instacart open and be ordering my groceries without having to toggle back and forth. So lots of things that I used to have to stop and pull my laptop out for, now I can just knock out on my Duo 2. The dual screen means this device can also replace my e-reader. The Kindle app works seamlessly and allows two page viewing, giving it the feel of a traditional book. It also works great using all of my Google docs, Sheets, and Slides. Of course, OneNote works seamlessly, too. One of my favorite things about the dual screen though, is using Facebook Messenger. I can have the keyboard on one screen and the messages on the other, which allows a larger viewing area and a faster typing experience. One concern I had was that the larger size would make it clunky to navigate and handle. I was pleasantly surprised that holding it with one hand is pretty simple and effortless once I got used to it. It actually feels a lot more sturdy, especially with a slight bend in the spine. The dual screen design also allows me to set it up like a built-in stand. So rather than trying to prop it up against something, I can just sit it up and have a hands-free experience if I'm watching a video or something similar. This also worked well for snapping selfies with the timer! Unlike other reviews I've seen, I have not experienced any issues with the touch screen. I find it reactive and snappy. So what are some drawbacks? If you're using your phone to take incredible photographs, you'll probably be disappointed. The camera is sufficient, but not impressive. My Google pixel captured better images and had a more robust built-in editing program. You also have to take the few seconds to open the device up in order to take a photograph. This isn't a huge deal, but if you're accustomed to being able to pull your phone out of your pocket, click a button and snap a photo it takes a little bit of getting used to. The other disadvantage this device has is the clunkiness between the competing Microsoft and Google programs. I'm still a huge Windows fan, and prefer Microsoft office products to Google suite. I'm also one of the weirdos that still uses Bing instead of Google. With all that being said, the device is awkward because sometimes it will default to Edge and other times to Chrome. On most Android devices, they work seamlessly with Google products. Not so on the Duo 2. It takes a bit of tinkering in the settings to switch the default apps. There are some I still haven't figured out. This creates some lagginess, and browsers tend to freeze from time to time. The last thing you should consider is the wide screen means the typical ratio for phones doesn't apply. Some social media formats (such as Instagram Stories) won't appear correctly and are partially cut off. This isn't a huge deal, since social media is something I use only occasionally, and mainly for browsing. However, if you are posting frequently or doing lots of live videos, this may impact you more. All in all, considering I use my phone more to multitask, it is a good fit for me. I can easily take notes, edit documents, send emails, schedule social media posts, and watch videos in a bigger, more user friendly format than on a traditional phone screen. It is really like having a mini laptop. Plus it looks new and unique, and who doesn't like to stand out from the crowd?

Super excited about the phone, it's the best thing since the first rendition of it. The new camera makes it the perfect phone for the every day consumer. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the best possible. Microsoft has clearly outdone themselves with the new Microsoft Surface Duo 2.

The Duo is very nice. I like the glance for calls, texts, and it is nice to check notifications or the time on the side and see the battery level on the on side. The camera is much better. It works well. I have the total tech for $199. Micrsoft should do this instead. More men like the phone. It is easy to use. I am a woman.

This device is a great upgrade to the previous generation. The gesture features have improved throughout but are not perfect. Screens have better resolution, spanning certain apps that take advantage of screen syncing apparent. This device is not for everyone especially those who don't understand the concept of the design.

Much better than the first Duo. Only negatives are below average battery life because of the 2 screens and lack of cases available. Overall experience was very pleasant

Microsoft Surface Pro Duo series of device is quite an intriguing device in a good way. It’s a business device at heart but there’s no mistaken that this device also has some appeals to general consumers especially at this conjecture of time when foldable phones are now at the top position in smartphones category. It should be clear, however, at the very beginning, that Microsoft intended the series as business device. The Surface Pro Duo 2 in general delivers as a capable dual screen workhorse. Dual screen is the device’s main strength and appeal. Essentially, it is a dual screen device that can be fold into a compact form factor. It is not a foldable phone slash tablet though the phone can be used as a tablet where the dual screen can turn into a single continuous screen like a tablet, however this is not the phone’s primary reason to exist. So, for those who wants a great dual screen device, this is a great product for them. For those who wants a convertible phone slash tablet, there are better options out there because the gap in this phone is absolutely visible and noticeable. In a world where we are likely to already have a tablet to use at work or home, I think Microsoft’s approach to the foldable phone scene is clever: most power users would probably don’t need to have another tablet as their productivity phone, what they need is a productivity phone that uses dual screen that can help them to multitask better and to do work more efficiently. There’s no mistaken that this is premium product. The glacier version of the device looks just elegant and not boring. It is a conversation piece because a lot of people have not seen the device in person. The feel matches the look. The hinge system is durable and it instills confidence to fold the phones without a hick-up nor the worry that it will somehow break. Software wise, Microsoft improves a lot from the previous generation of the device. There are still some minor issues here and there but overall, the device is very very useable. Multi-tasking with the device is easy and works best with Microsoft’s ecosystem of apps. It would be great if the dual screen can play two videos and output the sound from both videos simultaneously to Bluetooth and let user decides the volume for each of the video with the left screen plays the sound to left audio and the right to right audio. I also like to work on MS Word while using the other screen for doing research e.g. browse the internet. Opening up email attachment and edit those power points are easy because we can have the mail app on one screen and edit the presentation with the MS Power Point on the other screen. Alright so we have established that this device is a great multi-tasking tool, which is good news for business users. But what about for the general mass? Provided that the person can pay the entrance fee, I cannot see why this phone cannot become a primary daily driver. The dual screen is just so fun to use. Tablet mode, though of course you can see clearly the gap between both screens, is also so much fun to use. I enjoy reading ebooks with Kindle, which makes the tablet mimicking the experience of reading a small book as we can use each screen to display single page of the book. Also, the phone is packed with lots of cutting edge-tech: beautiful screen and latest gorilla glass? Check. 5G? Oh yeah. NFC, latest Bluetooth and Wifi tech? Yep, covered. One thing that I found peculiar is that the device can charge Microsoft Slim Pen 2 but we can’t charge itself wirelessly. But what about the camera? Well, it performs decently. If you’re coming from high end mobile phones of recent generations then yes you can tell the difference. Image quality is not bad but it’s not the best either. It’s good enough especially in places where there are lots of ambient light. This is something that Microsoft can work over time though on-the-air updates. Aside of multi-tasking capabilities, the other star of the show is XBOX gaming on the go. Cloud gaming on the go is supported by the low latency 5G connection and the clever use of dual display. Not all games have integrated and optimized the dual display but the potentials are there. Gaming on the go with XBOX controller and the device is just wonderful as Microsoft is keep on expanding the cloud gaming library. My last note on the device is that even though Surface Duo 2 is a great productivity tool, there are still many rooms for improvements since it competes with other premium phones that are targeted for power users. I like the ability to transform my phone as a mini laptop when I connect my productivity phone to a monitor. Surface Duo 2 can connect to any monitor just like any other Android phone, however, the interface remains the same meaning it just mirrors the device. There’s no special laptop mode being triggered by the phone so users can work more efficiently using keyboard and mouse. This is something that I think Microsoft should seriously consider because their main competitor’s flag ship phone has this ability and many business users like this feature. While of course this ability is not for everyone, however, being a premium productivity phone this is something that I think the Surface Duo 2 should already have. Also, I kind of wish that Microsoft can develop something like a portable keyboard for Surface Duo 2. I’ve been using a mini laptop whenever I’m away from home during working hours and I carry this device in a small pouch or even tuck it in inside my pocket. The Surface Duo 2 has the most potentials to replace the mini laptop for my needs, however, the mini laptop does have the advantage of having a physical keyboard. I don’t know how Microsoft would work it out but if they do, this accessory would definitely be a more popular choice over the slim pen. Many people I would think would prefer to type rather than using the slim pen when drafting documents on the go. To sum up, who is this phone for? Well, if you use MS Office heavily and want to have a really capable device to review and do work on the go, this is definitely for you. If you’re an XBOX guy, yep those games on the game pass library are waiting for you. If you enjoy reading Kindle and would like similar experience of reading a book, get this. Or if you just like a phone that has the latest hardware with so much potentials and you can afford the entry price, sure.

You have to love this style of phone. I do. The only thing wrong about it is it's so beautiful of a phone I am afraid to crack a screen or the outside of it. There really isn't a good cover that works for it yet. Hope there will be.

My purchase required customer due diligence as the discounts weren't easily applied. Apparently best buy had Microsoft agreed to discounts but the best buy web page lacked the required bar code to process. I expected it to be a challenge and it was. 2 hrs just to purchase. Great credit to Jessica who finally just made the sale in spite of the poor web page info. The discount was for $700 off. 450 trade plus 250 in store discount. The $250 was the issue.
