Much better than an iPad because it runs full Windows. I love the keyboard/cover and have used it for hours at a time with no problem. The touchpad is excellent as is the overall build quality. It is initially limited to apps from the MS App store, but that is easily removed and you can load any Windows program on it. This is the best small, lightweight travel computer out there. Not quite enough to replace your main laptop, but really close.

Bought for a College classmate due to Flooding

My class pitched in to buy a fellow classmate some of the things he lost with the flood a month or so. We had to make 600 dollars work for the most important things. One of them being a laptop. After researching and reading the reviews I kept coming back to this one. He loves it. He said the side and the weight make it so much easier for him and it is very user-friendly. Great deal, product, quality - very happy!

I needed to upgrade to a more powerful device classes I was going to take, but I really didn't want to lug around a big laptop along with the books I had. I decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did. The Surface Go works for everything I need it to. I won't say that it is perfect, but it if you are looking to run general programs that I need for class combined with the lightweight and moveability of it, I love it.

I’ve had this Surface Go for about 6 months. It’s been flawless in terms of performance. It’s quick and reliable. I picked up the V1 keyboard and it’s a must have addition. Battery is decent. Sleep mode doesn’t use much battery which I was happy about. My biggest gripe is each time you lock down the screen and reopen, it takes 15-20 seconds to boot up again and facial recognition can take a bit to unlock.
Overall a really great product, would buy again!!

The size makes it easy to carry and to stick into any bag. The fast core processer makes research easy. Internet has stable and strong connection. Very good for writing, research, and note taking. The pen allows for good storyboard drawing and drafts on the go.
Also good for watching Netflix and YouTube.

Wife loves it. Great for basic things, surfing web, email, Netflix, etc. At times a little slow, especially when running updates. Battery is good. Not great for multitasking. Windows system is secure, yet limits the programs available. You can only use windows apps. Overall great small, portable, mini computer.

I purchased the Surface Go as an alternative to an Ipad or similar device. It has not disappointed. Touch screen is easy to use - the operating system is familiar and it has enough speed and power to do all that I bought it for. I use a bluetooth keyboard to do some writing on the Surface Go and it works fine. My Microsoft Subscription allows me to use all of the Office products.

I bought this Surface for a friend who is battling cancer and stuck in bed most of the time. I thought this would be great for her to use for listening to music, staying connected with her friends on Facebook, checking her email etc. It's small, light weight and portable. I think she loves it.

Amazing For Students

I bought my Surface Go back in October and have been using it primarily for school. It has plenty of processing power to do so, and it is extremely light and small, making it very portable. The magnets on the left side of the screen hold the pen (sold separately) so well that it requires a decent amount of effort to separate them. The pen itself is part of what makes it so amazing for school, in my opinion, as I am able to use Microsoft OneDrive and physically write my notes in the device, and it ia automatically saved to my Microsoft account in the cloud.
Unfortunately there is only one case I have seen for it, but the device is surprisingly strong. I've had the misfortune of dropping it a few times over the months and the frame is, as expected of a seemingly pure metal case, barely even scratched.

I am very happy with the Surface Go (8GB, 256GB). I already have a Surface Pro and I love it. I do a lot of creative writing and wanted to have a device small and light enough to carry in my purse and also when I travel. Surface Go is perfect for that! Overall it is a great device and I am very happy with the purchase.

Being a full time college student, reliable technology is a must have. This is the best purchase I have made since being in school. It is small and easy to transport with me everywhere. Tablet mode is great when traveling or just trying to submit an assignment quickly. The detachable keyboard makes it easy to type with ease.

I bought this cause I needed a windows computer. I’ve always used Apple. This computer/tablet is one that can legitimately get me to switch back to PC. It’s fast in ever regard. It starts up quickly, it doesn’t drain the battery when it’s sleeping. It works like an apple product. I’m impressed, and will probably get a surface pro, over a Mac next time.

This is not supposed to be a desktop computer, or a high powered laptop. The surface go is a great piece of lightweight hardware. Even the lower end model (which i have). It totally runs fine and can do the smaller tasks i throw at it. Even run some 2d games on steam on it perfectly. I love this guy. Pretty much an ipad with windows.

I love this on the go tablet/computer. I use it for school to take notes and have it connected to my at home PC for when I am at home taking zoom classes. If you buy a memory card for the PC you could also play games like world of warcraft at low settings. Which was very surprising.

So obviously the GO doesn't have all the same specs as a Pro or Laptop. But if you're looking for an inexpensive device, that runs an actual Operating System(Windows) instead of android or chrome OS, and will be used for everyday work related items then this is the one for you. The processor is not a Corei but the Pentium still gets the job done with multitasking and running devices. It is noticeably slower than the Pro but again thats due to the processor but its not so slow that it would cause you to pull your hair out. If there are issues with the device running THAT slow then you may want to try and update your device. It is a little sad that the it only comes with the device and nothing else. Even the galaxy tab S4 comes with the pen. But aside from that its a great device for working on the go when you dont want to spend the money on a Pro version when you dont have to.

I purchased the Surface Go because I wanted something more portable to take to College. I have a MacBook and an iPad Pro 10.5 but this just fit the bill better despite not being an Apple product. It’s high quality and doesn’t feel cheap. Being able to have a full computer in this size is perfect. It’s fast and is a great device for note taking.
