Easy to navigate and use. The programs that are already on the device make it easier to set it up for your needs.

Don't expect the quick and snapy response of an apple product on this model or higher surface models. It's slow and not really suited for fast paced stuff.

The Microsoft Surface Go 3 with Windows 11 is my first experience with Windows 11. The new operating system from Microsoft looks really crisp and reminds me of both Google Chrome OS and Mac OS 10 / iPad OS. It's obvious Microsoft is taking design queues from all three of these operating systems. With the redesigned UI, it's probably the best attempt so far that Microsoft has made for a device that's a tablet. The new slide out information center and the slide out notifications area are very reminiscent of the ones found on the iPad. The device is well-made like all other Surface devices and feel really solid. The back stand feels just as smooth as the one found on the larger Surface Pro. There isn't an abundance of ports on the device. I think Microsoft could have put a couple more USB-C ports of the left side of the device, as there aren't any ports on that side. The right side has a headphones jack, one USB-C port, and the proprietary Surface charging port. On the back of the device under the stand there is a micro-SD card slot for extra storage. The included 128 GB SSD is a bit small with the Windows install taking up about 40 GB. After setup it sits at about 84 GB free. I do think a 256 GB drive would've been a better SSD choice for this device at this price-point. Sound quality is adequate for a small room from the built-in speakers, but a person would be better off connecting a pair of headphones for a better experience. The screen is very crisp, bright and responds well to touch gestures. I do think Microsoft could've reduced the bezel size to squeeze out more screen real estate like they did with the Surface Pro 8. The 8 GB of ram included, and the dual core Intel processor does a decent job at handling multiple applications running at the same time. It's not going to be a device of choice for gaming but will handle some casual gaming and web-based games sufficiently. Surfing the web with the new Edge Chromium browser is pretty smooth, although scrolling did get a little stutter while watching a video at the same time in a separate tab. Watching a streaming movie on Netflix was smooth and looked great! Running Office 365 was smooth, and it handled Word and Excel just fine. Battery life seems pretty decent. I was able to stream Netflix for about 6.5 hours before the device wanted to go into power saving mode at 20% battery life. I was streaming at the Recommended power setting with screen brightness at 50%. Setup of Windows 11 was really smooth and looks much more polished than any previous version of Windows. Setup took about a half hour as the tablet has to download the most recent updates. The facial-recognition-recognition works great and makes unlocking the device super easy. It configured itself to my face quickly during setup and was a lot less painful than the facial-recognition setup on my iPad. The new Windows UI looks familiar enough to not totally confuse someone used to working with Windows 8 or Windows 10. The taskbar cannot be repositioned from the bottom in Windows 11, which is a bit disappointing. The centered icons on the taskbar can be left aligned to be more like Windows 10. The Start Menu has been totally redesigned and reminds me a lot of Mac OS or Linux. Windows have rounded corners now. It looks quite nice, honestly. After setting things up, I realized the device was running in Windows S mode when I went to install an application not from the Microsoft Store. This might be just fine for some users, but I decided to take the device out of S mode. It was really simple to do, but it did tell me that once I took the device out of S mode it can't be put back in S mode. I have no intention of doing that, but that was a surprise to me. I added the Surface keyboard, which I would recommend for anyone buying the device. Having a keyboard / trackpad with this tablet will make the experience much more enjoyable. It's doable as a tablet only device but is really made to have the Surface keyboard. That does add to the cost of the device but is worth it. The device is super light, and about the same size as the basic iPad, so it fits in almost any bag without adding much weight or bulk. It will be a great device for always having in my bag for when I need it. It can be connected to an external monitor via the USB-C port and to external accessories using Bluetooth, so someone could use this as their main PC in a small space for example. Thinking it would be great for someone in college for taking to classes or using in the library or dorm room.

    Surface GO 3 Good but....

I purchased the Surface GO 3 (128GB, 8GB memory) and on balance it is a nice computer. It is much faster than my Surface GO 1 owing to its quicker processor (6500Y); Windows 11 does well on the device. But, the battery life is poor as I am only getting about 4 hours per charge despite Microsoft's claim of up to 11 hours--although MS states one's usage could deviate from that significantly which is a bit of a cop out. Nevertheless, a nice computer despite the battery tradeoff.

Battery life is VERY disappointing - only a few hours if actively using it. Price of base unit and accessories make this an expensive option. Windows S is a very limiting OS. Won't get as much use as I had planned.

I purchased this table to replace an older laptop. It was very easy to set up and navigate. It has a really good quality feel to it. The only down fall was alot of my wireless devices would not work at 100% as they are intended for an Android os.

It's pretty unusual to find something this powerful at this size. My mom loves it gave it to her for Christmas along with the matching red keyboard mouse cover, and the stylus and mouse. This has to be one of the best tablets/netbook computers in its size class that I have seen in a long time. It is more pricey than the other models but I can guarantee you that this model will be twice as fast.
