    The Surface Laptop 2 is a great device. Pros - Bright, clear and responsive touchscreen with pen input - Very fast - Windows Hello makes signing in very quick - Computer boots up in mere seconds - All day battery life Cons - The only con I have come across is lack of USB-C. With that said I'm not really sure that is much of a con at this point though. My experience with other computers that use USB-C has been mixed. Not sure the technology is ready for primetime. If your primary purpose for a laptop is not gaming, then this is the ideal choice.

    I got this device for my mom who is going back to school to finish her life long dream of finishing her degree. She doesn't like "complicated" with the 2 in 1 features and wanted something simple but still powerful and durable. This laptop is exactly that. She started using the touch screen and really likes it but overall she really lives the keyboard and the lightweight but durable build of the laptop. I'm definitely going to be getting one when my laptop dies. 10/10 reccomend for anyone who needs lightweight and durability.

    I’m not very knowledgeable on computers but if you need a computer for school this one is perfect. I didn’t even realize when I bought it that it was a touch screen, it’s been really useful to just be able to zoom in on things with your fingers. The face recognition is crazy like I could be wearing a hood and flash my face for 2 seconds and it’ll still recognize me and unlock. It’s a little bit heavy but it’s good for taking in your bag to the library and such since it fits in most bags. Another very useful thing is the charger, which has a magnet which makes it easier to plug in.

    Good but a little overpriced

    Having just purchased this today I am relatively happy with it. It is very responsive to typing, surfing the web and streaming music/movies. My big hang up and a reason I may possibly return is how loud the click on the mouse pad is when you push on it. It is very loud an annoying. It sounds like cheap plastic, which I could deal with if it were not so loud and obnoxious. I am aware that i can leave the tap with single finger setting on, but sometimes that is a little slow to respond and I should not have to use that all of the time.

    There are many features to like about this product. This laptop is user-friendly and easy to use. I requested Geek Squad to set up my laptop but I think I would have needed Geek Squad to set up my laptop regardless of the brand I bought. The touch-screen is desirable and allows users an additional way to navigate an interface or select options on the screen. The device is also very light weight. Typing and composing documents is my primary reason for buying this laptop. I suppose one disadvantage is the battery is depleted quickly. However, that is an insignificant disadvantage.

    Great all around laptop

    first, I really like the soft touch feel to the surface around the trackpad and keyboard. In the winter it's nice that the laptop doesn't feel cold and metallic. The keyboard itself is great for typing and I ended up getting the entry level i5 in hopes the battery would last longer. I didn't need the stronger CPU and the i5 has worked pretty well for the most part. I also really like the new Windows 10 phone sync and messaging capabilities that you can install. it's great with android but not so great for iPhone.

    HORRIBLE BATTERY

    The worst battery life I've ever had on a laptop. I had a full charge and after 3 hours I had 33% left. Only had computer for 6 weeks. The resolution is fantastic, but I'm not using it for games or movies. I am a student and writing papers, taking webcam proctored tests and web surfing is all I needed it for. My cheap Chromebook which was $500 less has a longer battery life than this. Wish I could return it but Best Buy has the worst return policy also. Not happy at all with this purchase. Waste of money to be honest

    Love laptop just wish 360 and pen included

    The laptop has been great for the last month. It’s super quick and has enough storage for the price. The screen has an uncomfortable touchscreen position so any finger scrolling or clicking is tedious. Wish it would be 360 like the other surface products. Would choose this over a MacBook 1000%. I actually bought a MacBook (non touchpad $1800!!!!) 1 day before this and the battery and screen would glitch every 30 seconds so I returned it the next day at the apple store and went straight to Best Buy for $850 this laptop is a steal.

    I have to carry my laptop all over the place for work, I’m glad I chose this laptop, it’s super light, the battery charges fast and the battery’s life is awesome! I find myself using the touch screen a lot. I bought a wireless mouse to make my life easier but I had to connect it 3 times before it finally recognized the device, same thing for the printer at work but after the second time it connects automatically. It fits so nicely in my bag and I hardly feel it’s weight. It finds WiFi networks even from across the building, Love it!

    For your average consumers

    This surface in particular is very light which makes it very portable. It has this surface on the inside that makes it feel nice which is different from its only metal countertop. It is very fast in terms of creating word documents, and surfing the internet. However for me I thought this would be enough to be able to run Lightroom or photoshop smoothly. Unfortunately it is not which is disappointing but for the price point that I purchased this for it does the job.

    Died at 15 months

    I bought this from best buy in mid 2018 and used this laptop for light use only at home- Email, social media, shopping. After 15 months it stopped taking a charge. Microsoft will replace it for $450 because it died 3 months outside the warranty. Great design on their part to rip off consumers. This was a total waste of money. I will certainly not be giving them another $450 and hope this last another few months. Save your money, buy a different brand.

    My wife is not a POWER technology person, but she was able to set this up and we are amzed at the diffrence in speed from her old HP Pavillion. For someone looking for easy of use, access to social media, photos and email it is IDEAL. We will add a Bluetooth Mouse just because she is used to a mouse but everyhting else she needs is there, setup and working and she did it without my help. A true test of how simple the inital setup process is! and she isn't complaining about speed, so a double plus for this machine.

    Nice & Thin, but jagged edge

    The computer itself is very nice and it gets the job done. It is sleek, thin, and light for carrying around. The only real issue that I have with it is the felt surrounding the keyboard leads to an uncomfortable edge where the metal and the felt meet. It creates an uncomfortable lip that invades on your computing experience. I might be too sensitive, but I've never really been bother by anything enough to write a review. Test the laptop on your lap and type before you buy.

    Love this Surface Laptop! Very fast and just powerful enough for all the things I need to do. I did have an issue when I first powered it up with windows 10 taking forever to load. I did some research and found it was a problem with a setting in windows and it seems to be a problem with some preloaded windows 10. I watched a YouTube video on how to change the setting and now it works perfectly. Definitely the best laptop I’ve owned.

    If you choose between Macbook Air and similar type of laptop made in US by a reputed company, and you need touch screen and like Windows, this is the best option. Unlike many other Windows laptop manufacturers, give you a laptop with software which cannot be trusted, MS gives you a really lightweight laptop which is high quality, touch screen, high resolution and long lasting battery.

    I honestly regret buying this and not paying a bit more for a Mac, I had problems with this computer since the first week -- I should've returned it then but i waited past my 45 days and now I am basically stuck. It constantly freezes on me and give me a blue error screen, I use it for school and it is very unreliable. I plan on trying to get it fixed by manufactuer warranty but next time I will def. go for a mac.

    Light and powerful PC

    This Microsoft Surface laptop is great. It does everything I need and is so light it is easy to take anywhere. The PC is able to run on battery power only for several hours. I haven't run on battery only long enough to find it's limit. The only disadvantage so far is that it only has one USB port. I had to buy a port multiplier to be able to use my mouse and an external hard drive at the same time.

    Who in there right mind puts an irreplaceable leather keyboard on a laptop. Stains after 3 months of use and believe me, I babied this laptop. Get something with more longevity and much cheaper. Should've listened to my gut. Did what Microsoft said and tried to clean it with a damp microfiber cloth and it smeared it. Only for them to say that there was nothing they could recommend.
