Purchased this laptop in December it’s now 3 1/2 months later and I’ve had nothing but issues. Now I’m being told I have to ship it back to Microsoft because of a hardware issue and will be without a work laptop for 2 weeks. This is now the second surface I have purchased and the second one I have had nothing but issues with. I have unfortunately learned my lesson the hard way.

Not what I expected for the price, kind of lame and overpriced

My motherboard probably fried after a just a few months of use and I still need to send it to get fixed. Hopefully, others didn’t have this problem. I ended up buying another computer since it broke during the pandemic and that was the easier solution. I will only buy new now—not open box or refurbished.

less than 2 years, hardly used, mint condition... one windows update and it's now a paper weight!!! Microsoft was no help... only wanted to sell me new one... after 1 hour on chat/phone with no troubleshooting solutions... last try is now for the Geek Squad... fingers crossed

I purchased the laptop not even a month ago, and since I purchased it I haven’t been able to charge it, unfortunately I noticed 2 days after my 15 day grace period therefore Best Buy couldn’t help me. Now I’ve been working with Microsoft for the past two weeks to try and get a replacement.

I have had it for a month now and I really wanted to like this laptop, but it has crashed a number of times in the last week or so. Probably has some kind of hardware issues because I have never seen these many "blue screens of death" in my entire life. It is going back to the store.

The laptop started slowing down after a couple of months. The battery life is not as long as claimed. Then it started having issues with charging. It will charge occasionally. This is my very first and very last purchase of Microsoft surface products.

Very bad and complete waste of money. I just got this laptop 24 days ago and paid a thousand dollars for a computer where the keypad doesn't work and you can't right click, scroll or highlight anything. Very disappointing, will be getting a Mac.

Very good work/education laptop. Lightweight and thin is great for on the go lifestyle. My only issue is that there is only one USB port so using multiple external devices requires a hub. Other than that, great laptop!

Laptop is very sleek and long battery back up. The color is differentiated from the common black giving it a premium look

This Surface Laptop is very convenient, and the size and weight are good to carry in a backpack.

Not good product. While charging it gave a burning smell. Did not meet the my expectation. Will not buy again this nor recommend.

I purchased this during college while majoring in Mechanical Engineering as my MacBook wasn’t supporting programs I needed for engineering courses. This laptop has lasted quite a while as I still use it to this day, however I can’t take it anywhere without the charger, even to the couch. The battery on this surface pro is so bad, my fiancé has a newer MacBook and the battery can outlast my surface pro any day even while on FaceTime. Also, the screen is very difficult to see when outdoors as the screen is reflective and the glare is so bad.

REALLY ENJOYED THIS LAPTOP SO FAR. VERY FAST. THE 8TH GEN PROCESSORS MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE. I BOUGHT BECAUSE I WANTED SOMETHING THIN AND LIGHT AND THIS IS EXACTLY THAT. THE BUILD QUALITY IS UNBELIEVABLE. I HAVE OWNED BOTH PC'S AS WELL AS MAC'S AND THIS IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE LAPTOP I HAVE EVER OWNED. BUY. THIS. LAPTOP.

One the best computer I ever had Nice abd easy to carry

I’ve had this laptop since 2019 and it’s still going strong! My favorite thing about it is the touchscreen.

If you are in the market for a laptop for college. Stop looking. You found it. This laptop synthesizes form and function perfectly. You are getting apple grade build quality, with superior performance, at a lower cost. Especially if you take advantage of the $300 off deal currently going on. Typing is comfortable and enjoyable, thanks to the travel and bounce of the keys, in union with the soft alcantara fabric. The screen is bright and vivid, with amazing color accuracy. It is also touch enabled. The only downside to this laptop is the lack of USB-C. Everything else about it is just perfect.

I like the size and weight. Easy to use. I had no trouble transferring all I needed to this laptop.

I just started using this and absolutely love the design of the latptop (matte black). The screen ratio is great and wish all laptops would move to this taller ratio. 16:9 is a terrible ratio in general for productivity, IMO and it is especially terrible on small screens, such as a laptop, so I'm glad to see Microsoft bucked this trend. The keyboard is super quiet but doesn't feel squishy at all, which is a surprise, and the keys themselves have a bit of a soft touch finish to them which is very nice. With a keyboard this quiet I found it a little odd that trackpad is so loud when clicking. I much prefer the more solid feeling mac trackpad, although that's not saying the MS trackpad is bad, it's just different. It's pretty much a non issue, but something worth pointing out. Design-wise, I don't like that the bottom half of the clamshell has angled edges and I think it would look much nicer (even if it made the overall product thicker) if the bottom half of the clamshell had perpendicular edges like the screen does. Overall I'm ecstatic to be back on a windows laptop and will proudly, smugly, open up this laptop, with the glossy Windows logo, in Mac-centric design agencies where I normally work.
