    Best laptop ever

    I had been using a Chromebook for a while and it really wasn't getting the job done. Best Buy had this on sale for $200 off and my wife already had a Surface Book (which she loves) which I've also used when my Chromebook kicked it and it works great. I can say the same for this laptop. The matte black finish is gorgeous, the Alcantara cloth finish on the inside around the keyboard makes your writs feel wonderful when typing on the excellent keyboard, and the keyboard itself is amazing to type on. I don't really sue the touchscreen much if at all since it's a laptop and not a tablet but when I have, it responds immediately and works great. I have had no issues running any Microsoft Office programs on here, watching Netflix and other online video streaming, or playing some light games like Minecraft.

    I love Surface Laptop 2 because it is lightweight and perfect for mobile office use. The other great features I love about this product are : quick power on, task view (so we can continue working wherever we left off earlier), visually stunning graphics, the Outlook e-mail, the ability to sync smartphone, photo app, Bing search engine & paint /drawing app with 3D capability & mixed reality camera app. I gave the score of 4 because the battery depletes quickly ( though I didn’t count the # of hours) and the laptop heats up easily while using.

    I've had this laptop for a couple weeks now and absolutely love it. I love the touch screen feature, the keyboard, and it is a very aesthetically pleasing laptop. I used to have a 2015 Macbook Air and I'm really happy with the switch. My two complaints are the battery life. Mine only lasts me about 8 hours just using the internet and Microsoft programs at school. My Macbook used to last a couple days without a charge, so that was a bit of a downer. My other complaint is the "T" key on mine constantly gets stuck. It's not a huge deal, but it really bothers me sometimes when I'm trying to type papers. Overall, I'm really happy with it. I do think it's a little overpriced though.

    Take one star away for playing dead

    I got this computer for 1.5 month, yesterday I left it in the car for 3 hours. the weather was very cold. After I bring it back to the house, the machine would not start as it normally would. I checked cable, recharged, said hello to it, it would not turn on. I packed it up and call Bestbuy to make repair /return arrangement. Bestbuy gives a couple advises, the "press and hold for 30 second" try tip turn it back on. I am so glad. Over all experience with the machine is just ok, the key board is not impressed me. the screen character is small for me. The wonderful thing is the battery life is outstanding and the computer is very light. Well! overall it serve my purpose as a travel computer.

    Great little machine - except for one thing

    After comparing the Surface Book, Surface Laptop, and XPS 13, I finally settled on this machine. It's a great little device. The Windows Hello camera is quick, the keyboard is great, the trackpad is nice, the screen is excellent, and the performance is quiet good. I expect the Alcantara will probably show wear eventually, and that's brings us to the one fault: this machine is designed to be used up and thrown away. There's no real way to replace the battery or keyboard. I'm hoping to get 5+ years of happy use out of it like my last Surface, but it makes me sad to see a machine that cannot be serviced and then live a second life.

    Stealth Black and speedy

    I have had this device now about a month and a half and I really enjoy my new laptop. I am coming from the Surface Pro line over to this laptop and I was worried about portability at first, but this is a very light device and it maintains a pretty low profile in a bag and on a desk as well. I am a fan of the all black version even though I considered going with another color originally to save a little. The only downside to this device and what kept it from being a solid 5 star for me was the number of ports. It is clear they thought about adding other ports and then scrapped it later.

    If you are in the market for a laptop for college. Stop looking. You found it. This laptop synthesizes form and function perfectly. You are getting apple grade build quality, with superior performance, at a lower cost. Especially if you take advantage of the $300 off deal currently going on. Typing is comfortable and enjoyable, thanks to the travel and bounce of the keys, in union with the soft alcantara fabric. The screen is bright and vivid, with amazing color accuracy. It is also touch enabled. The only downside to this laptop is the lack of USB-C. Everything else about it is just perfect.

    Here are some of the items I like about the microsoft surface laptop: it was on sale for $300 less than the asking price($999 vs. $1,299); 13.5" screen; long barttery life-17 hours; solid, clear screen; touch screen that can alternate between mouse & touch without hitting a reset key; memory capacity-8gb. Some of the items I didn't like: seem to be slower than I expected (in part, or whole, ii may be the AT&T connection causing this & not the solid state drive; no hard connection between power cord & laptop-it's veryeasy to pull out the power supply cord (from the laptop) which apparently is held on magnetically.

    After 2 weeks with this device I’m left with disappointment I have a surface pro 4 tablet I’ve had for years and it started to overheat and is no longer under warranty so it was time to get a new porable computer my surface pro 4 has ran excellent up until now so I thought I would stay in the surface family. I purchased this surface laptop 2 on Black Friday to finally upgrade only to find that my surface pro 4 ran better than this brand new laptop... apps and programs would crash randomly without warning all the time deleting any progress made which my surface pro 4 could even achieve. Microsoft makes very nice products but they dropped the ball big time on this one.

    Slow Slow Slow

    This is my third Surface Laptop 2 in the past two weeks. The first one had really bad bleed through on the bottom of the screen, and the last two were so terribly slow, just opening documents was too much for this machine. The only upside is that it has great sound. Otherwise a big piece of garbage. I don't know why people think this is such a great computer, check out Microsoft, the reviews don't add up to what Best Buy reviews say. I think Best Buy has people put good reviews in to get people to think this product is great! Don't Purchase This Laptop! or you can, its your time and money.

    Light but bad quality

    I bought this in late November and I liked that how it's light weighted, it but it occured blue screen with battery overheating and a loud noise coming from the bottom. I was originally recommended this product by my friends who use surface laptop 1 and surface go. They all said the producta are so far so good. However, this new surface laptop 2 which was released in august, 2018 made me worried. And NO, I DO NOT recommend this product to others. It is expensive and I do not feel it's trust worthy. I believe products should be better with this price. (also, the sales has been going on for a while, and that meant something…)

    Super fast and light!

    This laptop is AMAZING!!! Yes there is no USB C but most flash drives use the normal USB A plug. I just love how super thin and fast the laptop it. I thought the screen size would be awkward because it is not your typical 16:9 ratio and it is a taller screen than other laptops. But due to the fact with the screen being taller, I do not have to scroll as much to see more of the content that I am browsing. The i5 Intel Processor is very reliable and fast for everyday browsing, video watching, writing word documents etc.

    This laptop definitely exceeded my expectations. Though I admit I bought it as the price was going down and a new model might come out this year, its a great price for a solid computer. I mainly use it for web development and other things I need on the go. I mainly use it with the docking station and I've been happy with how it holds up. They keyboard is a dream, especially compared to the macbook air. I think the touch screen is kind of pointless because it doesn't fold backwards, but I guess it could come in handy.

    I bought this laptop for my wife, whose 10 years old Sony Vaio finally called it quits. As far as I can tell, she is very happy with it. It is light, attractive to look at, has a very good screen, and very good battery life. She likes the unique design (the palm rest is covered in a gray fabric of sorts), and it was a major selling point for her (being design-conscious). Best Buy had a very good promotion at the time of our purchase - we paid the same as we would have paid for the same laptop with half the RAM and SDD space. Overall - no complaints, but we have been using it for only a month.

    It was a pretty good laptop. Display is very bright. Lightweight. It ran very smoothly, but was concerned about its future, because it started glitching a little bit with the trackpad lagging. When I switched over to the touch screen it also lagged, so I returned it. If you won't be doing very heavy use, like myself, I would recommend it. The touch screen took a little bit to get used to, but if you can get past a few finger prints here and there, I can see how it can be convenient. Would recommend for students or professionals, it just wasn't for me.

    I have only had this for a few days- but have enjoyed every moment I've used it! I have been using Windows, etc. for 20ish years... thought I'd foray into Mac OS (since I use iPhones & iPads)... big transition for an old guy!!! 'Experiment' failed... traded Macbook Air Retina for a Dell Inspiron Ultra 4K... found keyboard and touchscreen responsiveness to be inconsistent... went to BB and spoke to a salesperson (for quite awhile) and she recommended this one... couldn't be happier! If you want a 'no frills' laptop that responds to 'input'- this is for you. Hopefully will hold up over time.

    I had a Surface Pro 3 for years, and after an unfortunate incident involving an attempt to bring in ALL of the groceries and my laptop bag at once, let's just say that I need a replacement. I went and grabbed the Surface Laptop 2 (in black, because of course) and things were good. The Surface Pro 3 had started having an odd issue where the charger would be plugged in but it may or may not be charging. 3 weeks in with the Surface Laptop 2, and I started seeing a similar behavior. I ended up returning that one for another laptop but I really liked this unit.

    Absolutely beautiful and stunning in matte black. Scratches easily, unfortunately, but there are covers, wraps, and cases available to help avoid that. The experience on this laptop is so smooth. I can from a Lenovo Y50 gaming computer which was heavy, but also a powerhouse. The Microsoft Surface is so powerful with such a light weight and it boots up do quick. The only the downside is you can't upgrade the components and it doesn't charge through USB-C. Regardless, I don't need that, but it would be nice to have it.

    Let me start off by saying this computer is great! I’ve had this product for a couple of months now and I couldn’t be more impressed! It looks slick and feels amazing. But one problem that I constantly run into is the lag. With just loading up the thing it takes two minutes! After maybe a couple of weeke I started to notice constant glitches going through the computer with sometimes it constantly shutting off. Other times it won’t even turn on or even charge! One thing that I would say is that this product is good but with some flaws.

    Best windows laptop

    Switched from a MacBook that had become too slow for my needs and didn’t like the new butterfly keyboards. Came across the surface laptop and was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and design. Enjoying being able to touch the screen if needed and haven’t had the fans come on yet during regular use. Only thing I’m worried about is the long term durability of the alcantara fabric on the keyboard, but the cobalt blue color looks fantastic for now. Probably the best windows experience you can get, although a bit pricey (not as much as macs however).
