I’m a Mac user and struggled to find a windows laptop with the level of quality that Apple has. This one does it. I have the black one and it’s super slick, especially for a business setting. It’s definitely powerful enough for what i need, which are most office products (including Power BI, which they don’t yet have for Mac). The keyboard is perfect and I could type on it all day. The screen is sharp enough and has tough capabilities (although I never touch a laptop screen), but the reason I didn’t give a full 5 stars is because the screen is so reflective. I can tolerate it but if you look at it next to a MacBook Pro screen, it’s no contest!

The lack of a Thunderbolt 3 port. Microsoft states its due to reliability, I feel they don’t want to pay the Intel tax to use it. The inability to transfer large files 50gb very quickly just crush this and make me stick to my Mac and Razer Blade 13. I love the build, weight, keyboard of the surface. But going from a T3 to USB-C is like going from a Mustang to a Focus.

I needed to buy an external attachment in order to have HDMI and an SD card reader. Other than that I love this laptop.

A Perfect Computer

The touchpad feels nice and gestures feel smooth and responsive. The keyboard is also a great experience. The key travel is perfect and my hands rest perfectly on the base of the laptop. It's very spacious! Everything just looks and works so flawlessly. I use a lot of specialized programs including graphic design programs such as Affinity Designer/Publisher and intense geospatial tools like ArcGIS Pro. This computer had no problems running those programs. I would highly recommend this device.

An incremental upgrade to a sleek design

My older Surface Laptop gen 1 has the Alcantara fabric, and although it was comfortable, it absorbed sweat easily and was harder to clean. The mate black on this newer model is gorgeous. The build quality on this third gen is as excellent as ever. It finally has a USB-C port. However, this port does not support Thunderbolt 3 speed. So you can't plug in an external GPU. I have the i5 with 8GB of RAM, and it handles Photoshop and Lightroom. I also like the new fast-charging feature, but this feature only works when your laptop is closed and sleeping :-/ .
