Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing in life is perfect but when it comes to a laptop the keyboard and ability to type with confidence are everything. This computer has a beautiful finish, its fast, moreover it a keyboard that works. Competitors have beautiful perfectly (almost) designed laptops but you cant type, even worse you cant even use a touch screen to make up for it. This computer has both.

A little let down, but looks nice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very clean and capable laptop for a student like myself... however... My screen cracked within a few weeks of use. I believe this was from picking it up when closed and applying too much pressure to the top... (which isn’t a lot of pressure, just enough to carry it with one hand) I’ve noticed it flexes and assumed this was most likely what caused the crack because it was never dropped and I am extremely careful with my electronics... so with that being said, not impressed with durability... On occasion the screen has gone black while on zoom calls and at times when I leave it plugged in overnight it would shut off and I would need to force start it... I’m honestly writing in hopes to here back from Microsoft as they have with a few other reviews. Although, I imagine they won’t do Much for me now that the screen has cracked.... r.I.p... happy holidays

Wifi disconnects
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I'm not very computer/electronics savvy. Too many passwords needed to get this up to speed. After system updates I lose my wifi connection. Can't see how people who use this for their job can work around this issue if in the middle of something. You would think after nonissues with my old Gateway I got rid of 4.5 years ago, that computer companies and systems would work more smoothly. Guess I'll stick with my tablet, even with it I can't figure out how to load photos anymore after I bought one 6 months newer than what I was using and easily loaded photos to. Bought this laptop due to zero cons when I bought it online over 10 days ago and the number of reviews. Someone had to be lying.

A great choice as long as you buy it on sale
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely nice laptop; maybe the best windows laptop experience. I was able to buy it at $750 open box excellent on a Black Friday sale. I would recommend this as long as you find it on sale. $1000 is a fair price.

Last Microsoft Purchase Ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To make a long story short, my last Microsoft purchase was the $400 fee they charged me to fix my device (for the 2nd time) just days after the warranty expired. There is a design flaw that causes the screens on these devices to develope hairline cracks even with normal, gentle use. I have owned 4 Surface Laptop 3's. 3 of them have developed the cracks, 1 of which sat on my desk the entire time. What's worse is that they have an antiquated repair/replacement process that requires you to be without your device for 7-14 days. So, if you are buying this device because you need it, you better hope it doesn't break. In my case, the screen on my daughter's computer developed these cracks while she was away at college and unable to immediately part with the device (especially during COVID with most classes being remote). By the time she was able to part with the $2000 device (Core i7 16gb version), it was a couple days outside of warranty. While you would expect MS to honor the warranty anyway, since it is a known design flaw, they did not, and charged me $400 to repair it. I have been a Microsoft fan for decades, but sadly cannot buy another piece of hardware from them.

Not worth the hassle
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After purchasing my laptop from MS directly for school use, wifi adapter wouldn't work(well known issue for this model) . Had to call in to customer support 3xs in less than 2 years for the same issue (The number also changed and was very hard to find, now in 10/2022, there's no number i can find). I was also victim to the famous hairline fracture in the screen that magically appears (no physical damage or misuse). Paid for screen repair and paid $400 for them to send a refurbished after sending in my lap top which wouldn't connect to the internet (after trying to solve the issue for days on my own). This last$300 payment was because my laptop wouldn't turn on after going to sleep overnight. Tried any resolution, even geek squad. No accountability, no customer support, no reliability. I loved it when it worked, but less than 3 years, paying 2 deductibles and having a total of 7 instances of trying to self diagnose.... it cost way too much money for how often it acts up.

Broke 3 times in 11 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I deeply regret letting the sales guy talk me into this computer. He really touted it, but it was seriously a piece of garbage for me. 5 months after purchase, the keyboard stopped working. I took it back and they reloaded the OS to get the keyboard to work again. 4 months later the keyboard stopped working again - I had to plug in an external keyboard to use the danged thing. In about a month, the keyboard started working again, but then 2 months later the keyboard stopped working again. When I tried to do a restart it just died; it never restarted. I will never buy a Microsoft laptop again! I am going to C0stc0 to purchase a replacement for this piece of garbage, because of their great prices and generous return poilcy. I'm really turned off of BB after this experience.

Buyer beware!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd Microsoft purchase. The first was a Surface Pro 3. After 3-4 years, the battery wouldn't hold a charge and not even Microsoft would work on it! I bought the Surface Laptop 3 in November of 2019 and this week the keyboard quit working! The best Microsoft would do was provide me with a rehabbed comparable unit for $499! I'll never buy another Microsoft product! Ever!

Would give a 0 if possible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop not even a year ago. I have already had the clicker in the track pad go out. I have also had a problem with charging through the USB port. I contacted customer service (which is terrible) and apparently nothing can fix it. Do not waste your money buy a Mac. I would highly NOT recommend this laptop.
