The processor and memory, along with a fast SSD, make this a great laptop. While you're going to pay a little more for this laptop, the additional touch screen functionality as well as the smaller screen footprint (while maintaining full HD resolution), make this ideal for those that want a powerful, portable laptop.

Bought this for my son who is in college, was looking for something to go in the long run, its sleek, delicate and most importantly FAST! The only drawback I feel is the storage (256 GB) which is comparatively low for the price but again he has MS One Drive (1 TB) storage so he is happy with it.

Have been using this laptop for the fall semester and I've had no issues with it. I usually have like 5+ tabs open, a Youtube video playing, Discord, Microsoft Office, and maybe even Zoom open. It runs smoothly and it's a great laptop for its price. I do wish there was one more USB port, so I do recommend you to buy a hub or something so you can use a mouse + wireless headphones + an external keyboard on it. The keys also have a really nice feel to them and don't make much noise. I would definitely suggest this laptop for anyone in college.

After intensive research, I bough this laptop during holiday sale. This one is very compatible to Apple Mac but on the Microsoft Windows version. I like this laptop in alight weight one, portable, fast speed and long battery hours. I have been using for theee months with no complaint.

I love this product overall use is simple, but there are things that are lacking. Microsoft should look into it. there is only one USB port which limits its capacity to multi-use. there is a need for more ports. the product is fast with icore7 and easy to use.

I was looking for a powerful laptop for my wife's home office use. This computer was the right size, had the right speed, plenty of RAM and storage space. And it was a good color for her office! Thanks, Best Buy.

Surface 3 Laptop 5 stars, Geek Squad 1 star

Surface 3 Laptop 5 stars, Geek Squad 1 star. My goal was to get a new computer and use the geek squad for any questions so I would not have to bother my brother (like I usually do). I was able to transfer all my files to the new computer without difficulty. Everything was working wonderful except for the Outlook Mail program – it would NOT open. Here’s the story: 4/15/21 Original purchase date. 4/22/21 Received new computer. Computer works great, all my files transferred seamlessly using One Drive. Worked the next few days on customizing my settings. Had a problem setting up outlook email (program would not open). Set up appointment with geek squad for 4/27/21. 4/27/21 3:30pm When I went to Best Buy Geek Squad desk, they gave me a phone number and said I had to call online support. I was standing right in front of them and they wouldn’t even look at my computer (and there were no other customers waiting at the time). Went home and called online support. They connected with me remotely but were unable to fix the problem and after about 30 minutes said I would have to go to Best Buy. I told them I had just left there an hour ago because they would not help me and told me to call online support. So online support set up an appointment for me with the geek squad for the next day. 4/28/21 2:00pm Went to Best Buy and Geek squad said I was getting unusual error messages and I should return the computer and get a new one (this was after approximately 3-4 minutes of “diagnosis”. I tried to tell them everything else on the computer worked great except for Outlook Mail and I thought it had something to do with my Microsoft 365 account and the Spectrum port settings. Returned computer 4/28/21 per their instructions, however, they refused to delete all my computer info; said I would have to pay for that service. I asked to speak to the manager and she, too her credit, apologized for the geek squad and personally had me watch while she deleted all my files and personal info. She then made sure my new computer was ordered and sent to me asap. 5/4/21 New computer arrived. Again, Outlook Mail would not open. 5/5/21 Back to the geek squad for the exact same problem in setting up outlook email (program would not open). This time I left the computer with them for 5 days. 5/10/21 Picked up computer. They got the outlook email program to “open” but said I would have to contact Spectrum for them to set up the email and I said ok. After leaving Best Buy, I went home and tried to open the Outlook Mail program, and once it again it would not open, so I could not expect Spectrum to walk me through a program that would not open. I was right back to where I started. This is where I gave up on the geek squad. 5/11/21 I called my brother and he connected with my computer remotely and had Outlook Mail open and running with both of my email addresses in about 25 minutes. He checked my Microsoft 365 Office settings and the Spectrum IMAP/Port settings. Voila, everything works and continues to work as of this writing (5/29/21). I love my Surface 3 Laptop, however, I would NEVER recommend the Geek Squad. This was a relatively quick and easy fix and they were not able to handle it.

I am by no means a computer expert. I asked someone in my IT department on what specs I should look for in a personal computer and started my search from there. This laptop caught my eye from the beginning with how portable and sleek it appeared. Once I saw that it met all the specs I was looking for it was a no brainer to purchase. This is my first personal computer and I have yet to be disappointed. It’s quick, customizable, and smart. Very user friendly for any project you encounter. The screen has perfect resolution. Basically the overall value is unbeatable. I compared prices to other top brands and would have had to pay an extra $1000 for a label.

This computer does it all for me except fold into tablet mode. I's build is beyond solid, although beware of scratching any color but silver since there is likely white underneath. The glass trackpad is the best I have ever used; large and perfect sounds and travel. The keyboard is also the best I have ever experienced; quit and just the right amount of travel; butterfly-style keys that are backlit in three brightnesses. Speaking of brightness, I returned the i5 due to the display auto-brightness being all over the place; this one hits it just right and is not jumpy like the i5 version. The sound is almost better than the Yoga 91. I am not sure how this "Omnisonic Dolby" sound system is configured but this guy is very loud and the stereo disburses beautifully, sometimes wish it had an equalizer but it sounds fine without it. I placed a tempered glass protector over the screen from Megoo that fits perfection to prevent the screen cracking issues folks have encountered; it went on easily and it is almost impossible to notice unless you are looking for it; it does not hamper closure whatsoever. With the lack of bloatware, the SL3 runs seamlessly. The fan was cooking at times on the i5 but not here at all. I bought a Surface Pen to use in case I need to draw a diagram for a patient in my work. It may come in handy. Do I miss the fold in half mode, you ask? Not nearly as much as I thought. This is a keeper!

Purchased this laptop to replace an older one that was starting to fail. LIkes - configuration (i7/16GB/256GB SSD), midrange Microsoft mouse, battery life, screen/display, lightweight for travel Not sure - alcantara on keyboard. Want to see how it wears Not sure - Need adapter (USB-C) to attach HDMI and multiple USB devices. Dislikes - nothing significant

Overall a nice laptop, here are my frustrations: * Much more pink than expected (I get a lot of comments on this as a guy). I don't really care but you might. * Having issues with speeds for Wifi despite Wifi-6 connecting to Linksys MX10 Velop and previously the Netgear Nighthawk series. * Power cord is not flexible, so despite being magnetic, it is a pain to connect. * Doesn't have as much horsepower as I'd expect for a new machine. * Power button is awkward. I don't know how many times I've accidentally hit it instead of del/backspace * Has trouble delivering enough power to an external secondary portable monitor connecting over the newer connection port. * Constantly is losing my bluetooth devices. Says I don't have bluetooth randomly, then I lose my mouse. I have to reboot to correct. * Has problems with Dolby Atmos. Great battery life, sleek, great keyboard.

If you are looking for a laptop that will last you 5-7 years that has a good display, good battery, good performance, and good software, then this is the one to get. I have absolutely no complaints with this device. The 10th gen i7 does it's job well and it doesn't have to crank up the fans too often. The 3:2 aspect ratio is a little weird but i've gotten used to it. However, everything in this laptop is just good. It does nothing the best but it doesn't have to. It does everything good enough and that's all that matters.

I've been using for over a month now and I love it. The speed at which I can browse and do work on it is satisfying. I've also added the surface dock 2 to my home set up and have been able to connect two monitors (1080p and 4k 60hz) simultaneously to the laptop as simply as plugging in the port. Works flawless when all monitors are set up and have had no problems with freezing or lags from too many applications running. I do not use this for gaming though.
