Great battery life, premium feel, and fantastic keyboard. The laptop is on the thinner side so I recommend also getting an external case.

One of the best Windows laptops you can buy. I am a system Admin in IT for almost 20 years and there is something to be said about having the company that makes the OS also make the hardware for it. Windows just runs better on a Surface and these AMD surface edition CPU's are really great! Word is that the surface laptop 5 will have the latest AMD version (the 6000 version) but that is just a rumor so these are still very relevant versions and very quick. I have 5 different surfaces including the 15" Ryzen 7 and this one with the Ryzen 5 and they are better for me. The only thing about this laptop is the camera is not all that great (720p). Other then that everything else is fantastic. The screen is beautiful, the keyboard and trackpad are always one of the best (microsoft make the best keyboard), and the alcantara looks really nice. You are not going to get 17 hours out of a battery like microsoft says (they just start the laptop and turn the display all the way down without actually doing anything on the laptop to get numbers like that) but with brightness around 50% and doing basics you can get 10 hours pretty easy. I will always stick with surfaces and the laptops are one of the best versions of this their lineup. Hopefully the next model (surface laptop 5) will have a storage spot for the pen.

Was looking for a touchscreen laptop that did not include that 2 hinge 360 (2 in 1) design. Not that many premium choices. My wife decided on this. And very glad she did. The battery life is amazing. Wake from sleep is instant when opening the laptop. And this laptop is far more snappy than the 8 year old Dell she finally retired. The charger is pretty interesting. It is a proprietary plug that is magnetic so I am assuming the wear on the port is going to be minimal. There is a lack of USB ports with only 1 USB A and one USB C port. At least they left the headphone jack. Would definitely recommend a surface laptop. I will probably get one when I wear my current laptop out.

Love this computer! We have purchased these for almost every person on our small team at work. They are so easy to configure and rarely give me any trouble at all. Want to buy another for personal use.

Perfect laptop for day to day use! May have a few more bells and whistles than a bone tech person would use. If you like to use all the features a device offers this is perfect. Fast, reliable, and easy to navigate with Windows 11.

It’s a decent laptop, the main reason I bought it was for the touchscreen. Otherwise I would’ve got a MacBook. Over time the speed has became slower when loading things and the battery dies kind of quickly maybe like 5-8 hours of use so that was a bummer. Everything else is decent. Display on MacBook still looks way clearer.

Good computer as an engineering student. Runs all of the programs needed. Really missing a better charging port as well as another USB-A port, but the right adapters get you all the way.

I’ve been using MacBooks for 15 years and got tired of where macOS is going and all the issues I was having. I have a 2017 MacBook Pro with the infamous butterfly keyboard problem. So after 15 years I decided to give a PC a chance and I am surprisingly happy with this Microsoft Surface 4 Laptop. I got it on sale after the Surface 5 was announced. I use windows at work (WFH) so it is more compatible in that aspect. I love the thin and sleek design. It feels very premium and the matte black looks amazing even though I plan to put a fishskyn skin on the top and bottom lol I love the pure windows experience without all the bloatware you get from other manufacturers. So far it has been able to handle what I throw at it. After 15 years of macOS I forgot how free it was on windows. You can do what you want and not what apple says you can do. I refuse to get locked in apples ecosystem especially after being burned with the butterfly keyboard issue and other issues I’ve had with MacBooks recently.

Purchased this after returning several high end laptops. I know i purchased the lower spec AMD Ryzen model, but the performance is adequate for me. I have other computers for photo/video editing. This is for video watching/web browsing/video conferencing etc., and to experience windows 11, as I really like windows 11 and my other laptops are too old to upgrade to 11. Sound quality is good for a windows machine. Better than the others I've tested. Not a lot of bass, but loud enough to fill the room. Not as good as my 2021 14" MacBook Pro, but very good for the ones I've tested from other manufacturers. Build quality is excellent. I did expect it to have a fingerprint reader in the power button. It does not - but the windows hello camera is fast and logs me in without me having to do anything. Took a while to get used to it, but I really like it now. The fans rarely spool up - when I had a Dell and a Samsung device that I returned due to multiple issues, but even at idle their fans would spin up enough that people on video conferences could hear them. I don't have that happen with the Surface. Overall happy with my purchase. I did get it when it was on sale too so I spent a lot less than competitors with similar build quality.
