I purchased this computer a little over a year ago for school purposes and the screen stops working and goes colorful. Never been dropped, wet,or mishandled. I trusted Microsoft. Never again. I’ve had off brands that lasted longer. Disappointed I got the bare minimum for the price! Pics of when it’s good and the colorful “glitch”.

This device is the second I have purchased in less than a week. I returned the first one and bought this one. Same color, same model. Got it all set up, installed Avast. All seemed to be working fine, and then the "Blue Screen of Death. " Tried all available options and no go. Recycles back to "something went wrong with your computer." Hence, it's going back to Best Buy. Will be purchasing a totally different pc from a different manufacturer. I own a Microsoft Surface Book which works great. Never had an issue with it. Still own it 3 years now. My wife is in school again, so I thought it would be a viable option for her to be away from her windows desktop and be more mobile around the house.

Overall its a good laptop, bought it for school. But in just 6 days of buying it i started to have problems. The screen starts glitching and cant get out of it unless i keep pressing the power button. I have only used it for 2 hours a day. Will most likely return this item since the problem is still happening.

To be honest I wasn’t expecting much but as I got this laptop, it performed better than expected. I currently use this laptop for college and work and because of how lightweight it is, I can take it anywhere and it’ll last for a pretty long time. The size isn’t as big as my old laptop so it isn’t hard packing it to my bag.

I purchased this laptop as a gift for my daughter's online school work, and because she has expressed an interest in learning how to code. I had considered a higher-end Chromebook for her (our previous one would come to a crawl with a few tabs open and a Google Meet session happening at the same time). But being a Surface Pro owner already, I decided to give her the Microsoft experience too. Right out-of-the-box, this entry-level device exudes quality. It's really well packaged and built. The display is lower resolution than others, but it's screen ratio (3:2) and touch capability still make it a great one to use every day. The keyboard is fantastic to type on; I'm a little jealous of that actually! The sandstone color looks great - there's a matching wireless mouse I suggest getting too - and its finish is easy to wipe up and clean. Performance has been fine for what my daughter is using it for: browser-based activities and Roblox gaming and development sessions. The built-in Microsoft apps for photos and videos, including basic editing, work just fine. I wouldn't use this machine to run major applications for gaming, coding or video editing: that's not what this device is built for. But for most people this will be a great choice for everyday use or simpler applications. Note that Windows 10 is in S mode out-of-the-box (which limits apps to those from the Microsoft Store). That might be fine for some, but I suggest making the one-way switch to Windows 10 Home to expand your options. I highly recommend considering this device as one to enjoy for years to come.

Hi Karina – We're sorry that there's an issue with your Surface. First, we recommend updating its software and firmware to the most recent version. If that doesn't help, please run the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit to diagnose and fix any problems. For more information on the Surface Diagnostic Toolkit, please go here: https://aka.ms/AA4r432 If that doesn't take care of the problem, we recommend that you contact Microsoft Support for assistance here: https://aka.ms/AA4rbq6 Hope that helps, Erica Surface Customer Care Microsoft

I am pleasantly surprised as I really like the surface laptop Go. I feel like Microsoft missed a home run here with the base model having 4 gb of ram and no fingerprint sensor and then having to go to the next trim at $699 to get the 8 gb ram and fingerprint sensor. Result: ground rule double. Likes: Design: it is a nice looking device that stands out from the others in its category. The ice blue is attractive while not the most obvious blue still retains a nice look. The plastic underside does not detract from this either. Size: It is compact and fairly light. Screen: Despite the sub 1080p resolution, the screen is still attractive and bright with accurate colors. The 3:2 aspect ratio also makes this a hit because the screen is taller and easier to review documents, because you have to scroll less than a 16:9 aspect ratio. Color options: there are 3 different color options to choose from, options are always good. Ports: having usb-c and a is great as well as having the device charge from USB-c along with the mag connector for charging. Trackpad: this is on the nicest trackpads I have ever used as my fingers glide across it. Mouse movement is great. Price: the base model starts at $550. Fingerprint reader: nice and fast logon Performance: all models have an i5 processor and I think this is more than fine for everyday users, even the base model will give you good performance. Neutral: Keyboard: it is okay to type on for me and not as good as the pixelbook go keyboard because it has a somewhat mushy feeling when typing. Screen: it is nice but still it is under 1080p for a device that cost $550 and up. When was the last time you found a device that was not full hd for $500 or up? Sound: I think it sounds decent, not amazing, not a pro or con. Base Model: 4 gb really microsoft you could not have just put an extra 4 gigs in and charge $599. Why limit it this way? Also no fingerprint reader in base model as well. Battery life: it is in the 7-8 hours territory. Not amazing but not awful either. Cons: Keyboard: no backlight. This is the biggest con again when is the last time you had a device over $500 with no backlit keyboard. It makes typing in poorly lit rooms more difficult and a no fly zone for those who work in darkness. Price: on the highest tier model Microsoft is really trying to upcharge you just for added storage.$899 just highlights this device's shortcomings even more in that price bracket. Wrap up: I looked over a bunch of devices in this class and some not in its class. This is not the quintessential device for me but it is very good. My biggest gripe is the lack of backlit keyboard on a device in this price range. I find the screen is very nice looking but the sub 1080p comes across as tacky also. I feel they could have popped an i3 in the base model and then added the fingerprint sensor. Avoid the $899 model as that is too much to pay for something so compromised. Also consider: The Surface laptop 3 is something to consider if you are worried about the compromises being made. It has a backlit keyboard, a full HD+ display and is larger at 13.5 screen display. It does cost more, and also the bezel around the display is larger.

There are two major design flaws that make this laptop annoying to use sometimes: First, there is no backlight on the keyboard. It's 2022, how is this even possible? Second, the underside is made of plastic, and picking this laptop up WILL cause you to click randomly sometimes. With that said, I bought this laptop for research and writing. It does that great. I am currently outputting onto two monitors, giving me 3 total screens. It has no problem doing this. We are in the age of online meetings, and running Microsoft Teams, while having multiple displays, can cause the fan to kick in pretty heavy. I've never noticed the laptop feeling warm, but I have heard the fan more than I would like. As for speed, it is pretty fast for the specs. I was impressed with how well it works, and yes, I did take it out of the Factory Windows whatever mode. It still runs really well, and I was impressed at this price point. It even runs Minecraft! At minimum settings and only like 30 FPS...but it still runs! Don't make the same mistake I did and get the 128GB. That was stupid of me, it filled up fast. If I didn't have OneDrive I would be completely reliant on an external HD, something I never want to have happen. Overall, for what I bought this laptop for, I am pleased. I can research, I can write, and I can use it for basic media consumption. My work however now requires photo and video editing. This laptop has served its purpose, but for anything beyond the original intent, this laptop is pretty much useless. I cannot use Photoshop, because it requires at least 20GB of hard drive space, something that is almost impossible to get out of 128GB. Would buy again, if I hadn't changed careers. Good news is, work is buying me a MacBook Pro!

Great design, thin and light. I like the thinness of this Laptop, and the speakers sound great! Getting the device out of Windows S Mode is easy, and the unit is fast when opening multiple pages. AS a totally blind user, the lack of two control keys and an insert key will take some getting used to, but I like the ability to toggle the FN key on and off to control what the function keys do. This laptop is great for people who want to get work done on the go and have cloud storage or an external hard drive for documents.

Just got this thing (12/15/21) but... wow! This is a solid good value when you consider a few key factors: -The specs are not bad at all considering the sleek design, light weight and super portability. I can toss it (gently) into my bag and take it out and about for the day without feeling like its weighing me down. -The metal case feels and looks great, this has a very nice fit and finish, the hinge feels sturdy and I believe it's going to hold up well. Like anything, the key is to take care of it. -The keyboard.. OMG the keyboard. (Lol) Let's face it, if there's one thing I'm picky about with my laptop, it's definitely the comfort and feel when using the keyboard. They hit a homerun on this one! -The battery life is as good as they claim it is, at least in my experience so far. I used it quite a bit during an 8 hour workday and at 5pm it still had 32% battery. Not too shabby in my book. -The display is nice and bright, clear and crisp image quality.. I give it a 9.8 out of 10. In all seriousness, I owned a $1,200 laptop and the screen quality wasn't as nice as this one. -Sound quality seems good, on par with what my expectations were. Nothing super exciting, but certainly not bad. All in all, this thing is great so far and I'm sure it will serve me well both at work and home. I do recommend this product
