Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Surface Laptop Go 2's compact size, light weight, and ease of use. Many appreciate its decent battery life and find its performance more than adequate for their needs. While some wish for a backlit keyboard and more storage, the positive feedback on portability and speed outweighs these concerns. The sleek design is also frequently praised.

I’m no laptop expert and just a highschool student (Senior) but this laptop is everything! I use it for both school and for work. I usually have more than 10 tabs open and this laptop performs so well it doesn’t slow down or overheat as much (depends on what you have open though). I like the touchscreen and finger print it’s nice. Really love the keyboard, very nice when typing and it’s not as loud when clicking on the keys. The only con I have is that it doesn’t have a backlight keyboard. Also I love how small and slim it is, at first it took awhile to get used to because my previous laptop was a 15.6” but in the end I prefer smaller laptops. Also great laptop to take around, light weight and doesn’t hurt my back. Sometimes I have to recheck if I actually brought my laptop because it’s doesn’t feel heavy. Would recommend!!

Got to admit I was impressed with the build and design of this laptop, it's solid - like a tank. I would have no hesitation for throwing this guy in a bag and GOing out. Screen is great, don't let the resolution or spec sheets scare you, gets plenty bright and is crisp - 3:2 ratio is an added delight and is perfect for productivity. I've read that text appears 'grainy' due to 'low resolution' and I completely disagree with both statements in my use. It does run a bit warm to touch, but it's not distracting with day to day light use. I will admit I saw a 2 - 4% drop in battery over 10 minutes browsing the web, nothing crazy and not viewing videos, which leads me to believe battery life won't be amazing. The Microsoft magnetic charger is a nice touch and is very much out of the way, wireless mouse will leave you with a very clean aesthetic. Fan noise was noticeable while charging and updating. Unplugged it's completely silent. Keyboard is another strong point of this device, very nice and comfortable to type which is probably the best I've ever encountered. Lack of backlight is what it is, and keeps this laptop from being an excellent value but really, unless you're used to working in dark rooms or looking for keys, it's not a big deal. Trackpad is perfect and another solid win. Can we talk about the speakers already? They're phenomenal. Way too good to be laptop speakers and loud. Not to mention, completely hidden within the keyboard somewhere. I don't know but I'm pretty sure it's magic. Performance was stellar for last year's 11th gen, you can do some light gaming and probably some video editing and photo work without too much of a headache. I've attached some Geek bench scores for your approval but it doesn't mean much to me, and if you're looking at this laptop I doubt you care or should care about specs. Overall this is a great laptop for the money. I wish it was closer to $500 but that's not my job. Portability and build quality are fantastic buying points here but keyboard/trackpad, screen and sound are amazing. This is the laptop I wish I had when I was in school and would suggest for anyone looking for an all arounder that just works. Look no further, and the sage color is really something too.

This is a really great laptop for school or daily use and internet browsing. Its slim design makes it lightweight and easy to carry around and it looks really nice if you care for aesthetics. It runs smoothly and is simple to use. It runs most apps fine however opening apps does drain the battery a bit fast but it also doesn’t take long to charge.

Very compact and lightweight, making it the perfect size and portable enough to carry around for everyday school or work use. Not a gamer laptop obviously, but it boots fast with SSD and loads everything quickly. Only a month in, but so far it's working really well for what I needed.

Beautiful device. Fast functional for school work, office work and even powerfully enough to play many video games. All this in a very compact extremely lite weight laptop / tablet combo. Very happy. Did I say beautiful?? ;-) B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L

Purchasing this laptop was the best decision i’ve made. The touch screen option is honestly my favorite feature on this laptop. Setting up the laptop was easy and it was pretty fun to customize. The battery life is pretty decent it’s not the best but not the worst it last me a couple days. Surprisingly the speed is pretty good. The only thing i can think of that is a negative is the little stain the pad gets from my oily fingers i’m not sure if that’s a problem with everyone else or other laptops.

It is a great laptop, the minute I got it it felt like I was working with high tech material, it might be small but nothing about it is small or slow, it helps you with anything you could think of and satisfies any other high technological need, The only issue I ever had with it was when I was trying to download apps on the Microsoft store, it would take an extremely long time and it would never be completed, and so I’d never end up having the app.

The fact that this laptop is not expensive, is amazing. I love the hardware. The Screen is very nice, bright, vivid, good viewing angles. Battery life is pretty good so far, but I'll have to use it a lot longer to find out if I can actually get the 13.5 hours they claim. I like that it at least has a full size USB port, along with the TypeC port and headphone jack. Those should be enough for most people, as you can add a monitor through the TypeC port if you wish. Hardware is one of the most important things to me, and this laptop has great hardware. It's small in size, but feels very premium. I like that it has a core i5 (11th gen) processor, and I can feel it sometimes. I'd say get the 8GB models, as you might need that extra RAM later down the line if you plan on using this as your only machine. It can go in any bag, and it's so lite weight it's in credible. The charging is a little slower than I though it would be for a 39W charger, but it gets the job done. The keyboard is simply great, along with the trackpad too. They have a soft touch feel to them, and for me that makes it very easy for long typing. I have yet to get tire, or feel fatigued when typing for a long period. Sitting on my lap while using, it gets a little warm like most laptops in this position, but it's nowhere near as bad as some of my other laptops. The front camera is probably the weakest point on this laptop, yet good enough to get some video chat done if needed. Photos are grainy though, and I you would need perfect lighting to get a decent shot. I know most probably are not buying for this reason, but I had to point this out. For me, this laptop is great for more than just students, it can work for anyone wanting a portable laptop with some power and a great screen. Side note, I also LOVE the color options. In the end, you will need to decide on the one that makes sense for you. I'd recommend this on it's worst day, it's worth it. If you can catch it on sale...get it.

    Perfect Laptop for Work

With working from home becoming more and more prevalent, having a laptop that is compact and easy to travel with is a must. I have had the opportunity to work from home quite a bit these past few years and have wanted to down size from a considerably large laptop down to something smaller. I’m glad that I have made the transitions. Having this Surface makes maneuvering a laptop from place to place much easier. Since acquiring the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 with the 11th Gen Intel Core i5 processor I have not been any happier. It’s the perfect laptop for my work. I will begin by saying (in my opinion) that this laptop isn’t made for avid gamers, storage of large amounts of media data or editing large amounts of video data. What I find it best for (in my opinion) is video conferences, PowerPoint presentations, online work and correspondence generation. The reason for this is mostly due to the included software and the Microsoft Surface’s ability to multitask. Also, how easily it connects to an extended monitor or overhead projector. Some key features of the Microsoft Surface Go 2 that stood out to me were as follows: 1. Its sleek design that is highly portable due to its size. 2. The built in camera and great quality microphone. 3. Nice viewing screen on a compact laptop. 4. The fingerprint power on button for enhanced security 5. Multiple useful ports such as USB-C and A 6. Preloaded Microsoft 365 7. 256 GB Solid State Drive For the past few weeks I have used this little powerful laptop mostly for work. It has served me well from home, in my office and during travel. Not only does it work well in those situations it’s also great for pleasure. I have watched several movies on in while on flights and at home. This laptop easily connected to my Bluetooth headphones. While at home I was able to utilize the installed laptop speakers and they sound much better than I ever would have expected. The screens viewing quality is quite well and the movement from frame to frame is seamless. The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 is a well-built machine that’s outstanding for work. It does most things well and surfing the internet is fluid. It streams online media flawlessly and I’m sure playing games that don’t require a ton of memory would be enjoyable. All in All at its price point this laptop is a no brainer for someone looking for the perfect work laptop that has the ability to entertain on your off duty time. I 100% recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a great entry level laptop or upgrade.
