Superior Aesthetics & Portability
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nowadays laptops seem to fit into two realms, the massive gaming laptops and those slim portable laptops to which this definitely fits into that second category where it excels with its price. I am most definitely impressed by its design and portability. Right out of the gate when unboxing this laptop you can tell it is a quality product as it has that premium feel. The lid being aluminum is what I appreciated the most as it wasn`t simply a cheap plastic laptop. Then the other thing I noticed unboxing the laptop was how light this laptop was as it is extremely light at only 2.5 lbs and thus easy to carry around, making it ideal for school, travel, or work. Upon opening the laptop, I will say I love the ability to open a laptop with just one finger which I`m glad they incorporated here with such a light laptop. Again, here you have to appreciate the aesthetics of that minimal design with the modern clean appearance. The keyboard does not include a number pad due to the size of the laptop, but the usability of the keyboard is perfect as the keys have the perfect amount of travel and are extremely smooth. Also, the fingerprint reader is a nice touch. The one knock I have here is that the keyboard is not backlit, but I suppose for its intended purposes this hopefully is not something that leaves to be desired by too many people. The trackpad is the other component that has a nice feel to it and is extremely responsive. When powering up the laptop setup was a breeze. The specs here fall right in line with that budget category and are more than enough for everyday tasks as if you are one that is focused on gaming that is a whole separate product category. However, when it comes to Word/Excel documents, browsing the web, and answering emails this does it all. This laptop was definitely built for productivity just by looking at the 3:2 aspect ratio whereas if you do plan to watch a lot of videos or movies a widescreen laptop may be better for you. However, with this aspect ratio it works great for those using Word/Excel as opposed to other laptops with a widescreen aspect ratio. Some may complain that there isn`t enough storage or horsepower under the hood here, but it has tackled all of the things I have needed for everyday work projects. Again, if you`re gaming or need a supercomputer to edit 4K videos this probably isn`t for you, but for the rest of us everyday users it fits the bill perfectly from a power standpoint. The two areas that are just a little less than perfect are the 720p webcam and display that is just under 1080p as both don`t have the greatest resolution, but they get the job done without any detrimental issues. On the other hand, the tradeoff of this is an increased battery life where this laptop lasts me an entire day of work on a charge and supposedly lasts up to 15 hours. With this is the fast-charging capability as when my laptop starts to get low it gets right back up to 80% in less than an hour on the charger. Overall, I think the Surface Laptop Go 3 is a great laptop for anyone who is looking for a stylish, portable, and versatile device that can handle everyday tasks. It may not be the most powerful or the most feature-rich laptop, but the value you get here is tremendous and for that reason I definitely would not hesitate to recommend it.

Very stable laptop for on the go
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is for the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3 The Microsoft Surface Laptop is a sleek and stylish device that offers a compelling combination of performance, design, and portability. I've had the opportunity to use the Surface Laptop, and here are my thoughts on this product: Design and Build Quality The Surface Laptop boasts a premium design that is both elegant and functional. Its unibody aluminum chassis feels incredibly sturdy. The laptop is available in a range of attractive colors, allowing users to choose a style that suits their preferences. Display The 12.4-inch PixelSense touchscreen display is a highlight of the Surface Laptop. With a resolution of 1536 x 1024 pixels, it offers sharp and vibrant visuals with excellent color accuracy. The 3:2 aspect ratio is ideal for productivity tasks and web browsing, providing ample vertical screen real estate. Performance The Surface Laptop is available in multiple configurations, featuring Intel Core processors, ranging from Core i5 to Core i7. Paired with sufficient RAM 8 GB in the Surface 3 I have, and 256 SSD storage, it handles everyday tasks with ease. Whether you're browsing the web, working on documents, or even light photo and video editing, the laptop performs admirably. The laptop does not have dedicated graphics, so it's not suited for intensive gaming or heavy video editing tasks. Keyboard and Trackpad Typing on the Surface Laptop's keyboard is a pleasure. The keys offer good travel and a satisfying tactile feel, making it comfortable for extended typing sessions. The trackpad is large, accurate, and responsive, ensuring smooth and precise cursor control. Battery Life One of the standout features of the Surface Laptop is its impressive battery life. It can easily last a full workday on a single charge, which is a significant advantage for users who need a laptop for on-the-go productivity. Microsoft said up to 15 hours of typical device usage. Operating System The Surface Laptop comes preloaded with Windows 11 Pro. Microsoft offers regular updates and support for Windows, making it a reliable and familiar operating system for most users. Portability Weighing in at just under 2.5 pounds, the Surface Laptop is highly portable and suitable for users who need a laptop that can be carried around with ease. Its slim profile and lightweight design make it an excellent companion for students and professionals on the move. Connectivity The Surface Laptop features a USB-C and a USB-A, 3.5mm headphone jack & the surface connect port. In summary, the Microsoft Surface Laptop is a well-rounded device that offers an excellent combination of style, performance, and portability. It is particularly well-suited for students and professionals who prioritize a sleek design and reliable productivity. While it may not be the best choice for gaming or graphics-intensive tasks, it excels in its intended role as a stylish, everyday laptop. It works great for my small business, mainly just running the office 365 apps doing quotes.

Great laptop! Built like a tank but one major flaw
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've got a gaming laptop, but needed another laptop that was on the small side, in which I could use for basic tasks, such as Office (Excel, Word, etc) and some small projects I have, as well as writing this review! For this Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 3, it hits all of the marks for portability and I really only have one issue, which was totally unexpected before I received it. Would this have changed my decision if I'd not know prior to receiving it? Perhaps. The unboxing experience is pretty great. The box is super sturdy and heavy duty and upon picking it up, you really get that sense of "wow, I think I got my money's worth", lol. This thing is HEAVY for such a small device and this makes me extremely happy - the heft is in zero way a bad thing at all. I wish more products these days were made like this. It's built like a tank and solid metal! The construction is superb and cleans super easy. I have no worries at all with it's portability and moving from place to place. And I'm normally the type of person that slaps a case and screen protector on all of my portable devices. So, major thumbs up to Microsoft for the build quality. I love the Sage Green color of this laptop. It's very metallic and almost has a "shimmer" type of color to it. It's very different from most other devices and for sure stands out from everything else. I feel the color also goes hand-in-hand with the build quality and solid metal construction. They keyboard feels great and is a pleasure to type on and the track pad is super nice - it literally feels like your sending your fingers across glass. It's super smooth and I never had my finger skid or skip when gliding across it. BONUS: I also purchased the matching Microsoft mouse to go with this laptop and it is also of similar construction and build quality, as well as super easy to connect for the first time and general use is phenomenal! As for performance and use, it's great! I am now absolutely SPOILED by the touch screen on this laptop. So much so, that I've caught myself accidentally swiping the screen on my gaming laptop and wondering why it's not working...whoops? I really feel more laptops, including gaming ones, really need to implement a touch-screen display...but I guess for gaming, that would be a lot more difficult to do... what with the high refresh-rate screens and such. Windows 11 performance is spot on. As soon as I set it up, I immediately done all of the upgrades and I've not had a single hiccup or stutter, whatsoever. I even tested a bit of "cloud gaming" (streaming) and it worked good, for the most part (nothing in regards to the laptop being the issue...cloud gaming is still hit or miss as far as latency goes). This thing runs as smooth as butter, which is really surprising for me, given it's only an i5 and 8GB of RAM! So now...this review is pretty glowing, right? Right! So, what's the one issue I had that I mentioned earlier? It's the lack of additional storage options. Now sure, if this laptop was staying in one place all the time, I'd just slap an external SSD to is or just keep a USB Thumb Drive inserted at all times. BUT...given this is a "GO" laptop and is geared more towards portability, it's a HUGE miss given that there's no internal SD card slot for additional storage. This laptop only has a 256GB SSD drive built in and some of that is allocated to Windows and System files. So, I have to be extra mindful on what exactly gets installed and used on this laptop. This surprised me to the point that it made an otherwise 5/5 system lose a star... So, overall, I give this a 4/5 review. It hits all of the notes and does everything well that it's intended to do. The build quality, color, touch screen and Win 11 performance are all as solid as this thing is built! However, the oversight of not including a slot to install a Micro SD or some other type of SD card into is a huge missed opportunity. So, yes, I highly recommend this laptop but if you buy it and there's an option for a larger amount of internal storage, definitely get a larger option.
