only had a couple weeks as it outperformed what i needed it to. i did have issues at first with it not booting up properly but best buy was awesome with their geek squad and fixed it the same day. after this absolutely no issues! only returned because i didn’t need something so expensive.

This is one of the best work laptops I’ve encountered. I previously used the surface book 3, which was replaced by the studio, and I can easily see why. I love the design and feel of the device, and the quality is top notch. My main complaint about surfaces is the battery life. I’ve found all my surfaces (and I’ve had them all) to underperform on the advertised battery time.

The Flagship Laptop, uh I mean, Desktop

This Surface Studio Laptop 2 has been an exciting powerhouse and experience over the past month I have owned it. My use case is using it as a desktop replacement and my config is the 16GB Ram 512GB SSD Drive w RTX 4050 graphics. I purchased a 512Gb SD Card capable of 180MB/s formatted to NTFS so I get 1TB of fast storage and I load and run games from the SD card. I have 3 external monitors hooked up to a hub, one of them an ultrawide 3440x1440, a gaming 1080P monitor 165hz, and an old 19inch monitor I use to stream news/financial info occasionally to glance at what’s happening, plus I keep the Surface in studio mode for those times when I need to write or glance notes. Once I am done working, it easily launches and plays games for which I use an attached controller. Why did I choose 16GB instead of 32? With an SSD, 99% of all your use cases will never need that much RAM and if memory is paged, it is to the SSD which makes accessing data trivial and your PC will not break a sweat on the most demanding tasks. I sometimes have a virtual PC with a 6GB memory running in the background while multitasking and forget that it is on. This is not a gaming PC but honestly unless you are a diehard, games on 1080P doing 60-120FPS are great. In my opinion, it is near Xbox series S equivalent. I run my PC games via Steam and Xbox app. As a use case, Destiny 2 is run off the SD Card, with 1080P medium settings and frame rate is usually between 70-90FPS and can dip to 54 and rise to as high as 240FPS depending on how intense the activity is. Most important is not noticing lag with the video, however being a wifi laptop, sometimes wifi causes stutter. Connect your USB-C hub to ethernet for the stability. Lastly, on the points ‘professional reviewers’ rate laptops first they say this laptop is trying to be all things and that is bad – like, what? I like value for my money and it is the standard to compare to MACs. I also have a 64GB M2 Pro developer machine and I prefer Surface form factor and versatility. And I didn’t buy this for battery life- you know what I see at work when folks bring in their high-efficient laptops? They all plug it in, and reviewers make the battery anxiety a head fake. I actually think it is better to always have it plugged in as windows smart charging leaves your battery at 80% and only uses AC which will extend the life of your Surface. Pros: Premium feel, Versatility, Power, Ports and micro-SD, Gaming capable without bulky form factor Cons: No 16GB Ram 1TB configuration

Nice bang for the buck even though it is on the pricier side. Very happy that they now dedicated graphics. Did not get very hot. Fans are vented through the sides rather than on the bottom so more ideal to use it on your lap or bed. Screen is sharp. Speakers are also very impressive. Slim design for gaming.

Amazing Screen. My daughter loves it. The Laptop is more than a Laptop. You can tell it's built solid. The flexibility of the screen and the fact that you can get a magnetic pen that will stick to the side. Amazing. Writing on it is smooth. A+. highly recommend it. one knock would be if you think its like the thin light surface youll be disappointed. but its basically a portable gaming console pc with built in Ai.

I got the mid-tier of this laptop, 256gb, the rtx 4050, 16gb ram, and the 13th gen i7. Overall, this product was absolutely amazing. The first edition of the laptop surface studio was underwhelming with the components, but this version is nearly identical with the form factor (which is the most unique experience I’ve had with a laptop), with one upgrade being a usb type a port added as well, plus of course the components, which do not disappoint. This runs for a steep price, but it’s a beast of a laptop if you do any drawing, rendering, or video editing. Although it may not be made for it, it games really well, as I can run Helldivers 2 on medium settings at around the 80 fps mark. Unless you’re gaming, the laptop is quiet, and stays pretty cool. I use this for work every day, and it’s an awesome experience overall. The form factor is so unique, and it’s eye catching. The sleekness rivals apple’s MacBooks and other form factors, while still being distinctly Microsoft. If you have the money, it’s a worth while buy! The battery life is good and can last half a day on full brightness, but if you have it on a low battery mode and lower brightness, and keep it to office work, it will easily last you all day.

I was an early adopter of the Laptop Studio Generation 1, so when the 2 came out I was ready to upgrade. But sadly, after about a month and a half, I realized I couldn't make notes on a proposal and the only way to scroll was with the mouse. Further investigation led to this in the specs-Touch and Pen Input are not available on this display. Funny, they were until about a week ago. Back it went, since I was in the free return period. That being said, I loved my 1st generation, and I have no hesitation recommending this device. Just be sure to put it through it's paces before your return period expires.

This is a very fast computer, the display looks amazing and this thing is so easy to use. This device is heavy and not as portable as some others but it is powerful and so that is a good trade-off. I like the positioning of the screen and how you can move it to different positions. I also like the touchpad and the keyboard and the magnetic power cord is convenient.

I love my laptop! I purchased it because I work from home. I need it to run zoom, teams, outlook, word processing, and work on it for hours. I need to study, I need to be able to work, and then able to have fun on it. This laptop handles all of it with zip and ease. I am so glad for the update and the ability to be a student, a professional, and silly me all in one with my laptop studio 2. I highly recommend it and a great deal for the investment that it is.

Nice machine. Powerful. Only real complaints is that this thing is a bit bulky compared to a good 2 in 1 laptop. Still, it is powerful, the screen is brilliant, and is plenty powerful. Could be a bit cheaper in my opinion, but if you can catch this thing while on sale, it is a decent value.

    Fascinating Microsoft-Surface Book 2 Review

I recently bought the Microsoft - Surface Laptop Studio 2 - 14.4" Touch-Screen - Intel Core i7 with 16GB Memory -GeForce RTX 4050-512GB SSD, their Newest Model in Platinum color, which is my 4th Microsoft Surface. I strongly believe that Microsoft knocked this Studio laptop "out of the park" because it is sleek and beautiful. It is also fast and with dual functions it can be used as a laptop as well as a foldable tablet. The Studio 2 with Windows 11, is also loaded with security features for protection with malware as well as from being stolen. I'd suggest that you buy the Surface Pen, which can help you draw art and animations for illustrating your PPTX presentations and bringing them to life. In sum, in my opinion it is the best laptop available. Quite frankly, I'd rank it even better than Apple notebooks!
