Customers have good things to say about the Surface Pro's portability, light weight, and battery life. Many appreciate its performance and the fact that it functions well as a tablet. However, some customers find the price to be high and wish it had more USB ports. The lack of an included pen is also a point of concern for some buyers.

Want a laptop that performs like a desktop and has the form factor of a tablet, this is it. Has the guts of a desktop but is slim and silent. If you're a power user go for the i7 processor.

I think Microsoft kind of hit it out of the park on this one. The industrial design is nice. The flip out back turning into a stand is great. It solidly built. Screen quality and viewing angle is good. Speed and performance for the one I have suits my needs. I do Photoshop/lightroom work an so far no hiccups or slowdown. The resolution is small so a pen and keyboard is a must. I like that it is compact. I can use it as a laptop when needed but as a tablet for media consumption.
It is compact and versatile. It does get a bit pricey at the higher end specs and Microsoft really should include the keyboard cover.

The surface pro was a perfect union between a touchscreen tablet and all the apps and features on that platform yet maintains the power and speed and functionality of a laptop.

My boyfriend is earning a degree in Computer Science Engineering..meaning he’s really into buying the right computer for my needs. The Surface Pro does everything I want it too and more. The touchscreen is wonderful and the size of the screen is perfect! By far the best 2-in-1 you’ll get! I use mine for college (Early Childhood major) and it is portable, lightweight, easy to use!

I’m really enjoying my new Surface Pro. It’s absolutely gorgeous and super quiet. Performance great. Windows Hello is a must have feature. Guys don’t buy base model with Core M CPU. Spend little more and get the i5 CPU with 8Gb RAM. I was able to compare them and Core M kind of slow.
Battery life is awesome. I get around 10 hours mix of use. Overall great product from great company. A+++

I take this with me on international travel. Very easy to use in hotel or flight. Its expensive so I try to be careful. With the keyboard, pen, and mouse you have a high end laptop replacement.Waited for a while to get Surface 5 but microsoft called it Surface pro and released it. Hoping that is 5.

I’ve only just got it, but so far it’s wonderful for what it is advertised to do. I don’t think I would use the pen very much but I got it for my wife for school. The best thing about the pen is how easy it is to highlight text. Wish it came with a thunderbolt 3 port but other than that everything is very well designed. Love the magnetic lay board, pen, and charger. Makes the product feel very premium and finished. Screen is amazing

I was honestly a little hesitant about purchasing the 8GB RAM version because I wasn’t sure it was worth the price. But I have to say I love it and am very happy I decided to spend the extra money. It is extremely fast and I have started using it for work as well. It runs very smooth even if I have 10 windows open that I am navigating through.

I wanted a new laptop and an ipad. This was the best option I could find in my budget. It's frustrating how much I ended up spending after buying the keyboard, pen, case, dock, mini display to hdmi out cable, etc MANY competitors include those things and end up saving lots of money overall.
I do not regret buying my surface. It was a huge upgrade to my aging budget laptop. It's really fast and exceeds my needs in every way. It's QUIET ... no fan and doesn't get hot (only a little warm with heavy use). The battery doesn't last as long as I hoped, but it mostly depends on my settings and what programs I'm using.

I researched this to no end. The bulk of reviews kept comparing other models to the Surface line, and currently it appears as though the Surface is the pinnacle of the 2 in 1. I was tossed because I knew I wanted certain features, notably the pen / Windows Ink capability. I wanted the functionality of a desktop, so that left out Chromebooks. I chose the i5 variation because all i7 models (not just Surface, but most laptops / tablets / etc) reviewed shared heat concerns and fan noise. For that price point and what I planned to do, I wasn't going to require that kind of power. My desktop is an i7 and I don't think I've pushed that to it's limits ever. From the moment you turn it on, what I've known to be true in computer set up since the 80's was turned on it's side. It offered a humanistic approach, speaking naturally and asking questions. It's kind of surreal. Once you get past all that, it's more of typical Windows 10 machine, and to that it works with great effect. The keyboard and pen do NOT come with this, which is a shame. I did purchase those items, and they connect to the tablet physically w/ magnets and integrate to the tablet functionality with ease. The charger, which is included, also connects magnetically. There is a camera on the front and back, and if enabled, it can use the camera to log you in as security measure. The adjustment stand on the back is solid and adjust to any angle. The unit itself overall feels well constructed. I've seen other reviews concerning "light bleed" with the screen, but I didn't or don't see that. The unit is completely silent. Even though this has table like functionality, it doesn't lend itself to immediate portability like an iPad does. It's heavy, much heavier than an iPad. It's a trade off for tech at this time, and I prefer the functionality over the need to carry it around for long periods of time like a tablet. So far, the minor issues I've had relate more to the Windows experience and not with the functionality or design of the Surface.

We bought this for our daughter who just left for college! She loves it! It’s small and compact, light weight so carrying it around is no problem. We bought the pen and keyboard, which we also highly recommend. The pen comes in handy when taking notes or working on projects. The processor is quick with very little lag.

The fact that you have a core i5 processor with 8 gb of ram in the form factor of a tablet with no active cooling is incredible. This computer can do things that you may not expect e.g gaming, multiple applications at once, and movies. This is my everyday computer.

The Surface Pro is simply amazing! The touch screen is fast, responsive and accurate. The device itself is light and portable. With that said there are a few things to consider.
The keyboard is practically a must... typing on the device itself is a bit of a hassle but can be done for portability.
The pen, not required depending on wht you need it for. I do use it on occasion but I still prefer to use a Bluetooth mouse.
Last I would say strongly consider the dock. Because I'm not willing to pay all the extra money for a 1TB HDD I have an external drive that I store all my old projects on. Also, I often need Korea than 1 USB port so it works out great.
Overall the device is solid, still overpriced but a good system!

I use this tablet for Paramedic school and it works great with all applications, reporting software and training apps and websites. No glitches found so far and definitely fast. Lightweight and compact makes it easy to fit in a backpack and works great with or without the separate keyboard and pen.

Touch screen is sensitive but not overly so with clear picture and resolution.Very lightweight and compact with robust performance to tackle 50 hours a week of work. A little expensive compared to many other laptops to accomplish same but worth it.
