Perfect for my artist
|Posted .I got this for my daughter's birthday. She is a graphic's design high school student and currently owns another graphics tablet that is connected to her PC. This new tablet gives her mobility and the pen gives her full control of her tools and program features. So far it has been a great investment in her future... plus it's a lot of fun.

Surface Pro
|Posted .I love this laptop/tablet I only wish I was informed to buy a micro card first because a lot of things took up memory in my surface pro so I brought a card later but had a hard time moving stuff around and I purchased the Greek squad but that’s no covered. Another than that I love it

Posted .Hi Liz,
We're happy to hear you love the Surface Pro. Depending on how many GB's your model comes with and how much you are hoping to store, Surface Pro offers the option to expand your hard disk space at any time by simply inserting a microSD card. We apologize that was not immediately obvious. In addition, or as an alternative, we recommend looking into a cloud storage system like OneDrive for additional file storage.
Take care,
Amanda

What a surprise
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI'm just another typical IT guy who has pretty much built, owned, used, and repaired every type of device you can think of. When shopping for personal devices, I often times cringe at the thought of spending my own hard earn money when I can just use my business devices. At the end of the day, I still need something at home for personal use and my current laptop is at the 5-6 year mark. I had my eyes set on the Surface Pro i5 or i7 but the price is difficult for me to justify despite my constant desire for having the latest and greatest. When I saw the Core M go on sale during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday week, I couldn't resist getting it and trying it out. Honestly I was prepared to return it the moment I picked it up but once I started using it, I realized it's everything I wanted and needed performance wise. I have since used it in basic IT troubleshooting, meetings, note taking (lots of OneNote), and presentations. It's passed the wife and kids test too with their relentless urge to use it as a sketch-board and online shopping. It's handled everything I've thrown at it including having obscene number of tabs open in Chrome. The fact it's not weighted down with bloatware that you often find from other manufacturers is a HUGE plus. It's pretty much ready to go out of the box without investing hours of cleanup before you can put it through its paces. I think it's time to put the old laptop into retirement and keep the Surface Pro. Overall, if you looking for something with lightweight use (non-CAD apps or GPU intensive games), I think you'll be happy with the Core M. As for gaming, games such as Minecraft run flawlessly and there's plenty of YouTube videos and sites that show benchmarks for the Core M. It's a bargain when it's on sale considering it comes with the type cover. Would I have rather owned the i5 or i7 models? Of course but only because of my infatuation for having the best but those prices are a little scary for my needs. Needless to say, I'm impressed.

BEST LAPTOP I'VE EVER OWNED!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've debated on getting the Surface Pro 4 for a very long time. I've been buying other laptop's, just beneath the price of the Pro 4 because I couldn't afford it. I ended up having to return them because they didn't meet me requirements, and spent a little more for the Surface. I'm a college student and an Entrepreneur, and so I need something that I can take with me everywhere, durable, fast, and of course aesthetically pleasing. This meets all of the requirements and more. It's one of those purchases that just keeps on surprising me. I've owned so many laptops, and I'm glad I bought this one because it blew the other ones I've had out of the water. I just wish I made the choice sooner! I won't be going back.

The Pros, Cons and Oks for the Surface Pro 7 (HR)
|Posted .Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I bought this as a secondary windows portable, primarily for use in routine tasks when I did not want to be tied to my desk. I use it like a laptop, so there may have been less expensive, more traditional options that would have done the job, but I have been curious about Windows tablets, so when this came up for sale with the cover included, I jumped on it. The utility of this machine, as with any computer, is going to depend on the tasks you want to perform with it. Since I mostly use it for document editing, I can't imagine using it in tablet mode would be a very good experience. The Type Cover is always attached. It actually doesn't work so well sitting on a lap. On my short-legged, overweight frame, the stand is not sufficient to keep the tablet from falling off. I have not used it in tablet mode, but i notice that it gets rather warm. Leaving the cover on and folding it to the back should provide enough insulation. Feeling the keys press as you hold it is a little disconcerting, but the system knows to ignore that when the keyboard is at the back. As with any compact keyboard, the Type Cover makes some compromises to save space. I would have happily given up some real estate on the spacebar, cursor keys, and left Ctrl key to get at least another Ctrl key on the right. As a visually impaired user, I also wish there was another way to tell whether the function keys are going to be function keys or perform their alternate functions when pressed besides a light under the Fn key. It seems the function toggles even when the Fn key is being used in conjunction with other keys. For example, when editing, one can use the Fn pluss arrow keys to access Home, End, Pgup and Pgdn keys. This is handy, but also seems to toggle the function key row. Performance is good, at least for daily tasks. I have not done anything to tax the machine, but I do not notice a significant difference between the Surface and my more powerful desktop PC with routine activities. The facial recognition feature for login works great, even with my inability to look at the camera. I don't know what that means regarding the system's ability to be fooled, but that doesn't concern me at the moment. I've had the Surface just a few weeks, but it is serving it's purpose well, even though I do have to use it on a TV tray. A traditional laptop might have served me better, but I am not unhappy with my purchase. It's compact, looks neat, and performs well. If you live in a Windows world and want a tablet, this is a good choice. In my view, the Type Cover inclusion is a must.

Awesome 2 in 1
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI love the Surface family of tablets. Works great. The M processor isn't the best, but for web surfing and checking Facebook, it's a no brainer. I got this on sale through BestBuy's Pre-Black Friday for under $650. Great steal for a device going for $999! Also a plus is the Type Cover. Normally you have to pay extra for that. Battery life is OKAY.

Pleased with purchase
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've debated between many different computers before settling on this Surface Pro. I tried the MacBook Pro (non-touchbar 256 GB model), the MacBook (m3), Lenovo Yoga 910, and SurfaceBook. I was concerned the Intel m3 and 4 GB of RAM wouldn't be enough. It's not a powerhouse, but it's worked great for what I've thrown at it. I don't game with my machine. I use it for work, on the go. I always have the Mail app open, Edge (12+ tabs), Internet Explorer w/ Silverlight, Excel, and often include other apps like the Calendar, Calculator and other apps. I haven't noticed any hesitation even with all of the above apps open simultaneously and including the multiple tabs. Color me impressed! Plus, the main reason I was willing to go with the m3 instead of an i5 or i7 was the better battery life. I've had the computer unplugged all day and never had a problem where I needed my charger. Some reviewers have complained about light bleed on the Surface Pro line; I haven't noticed that. Mine has been running well and I have no complaints. I've been using a MacBook Air since 2013, but I've never been afraid of Windows. MacOS has grown old and stale. Windows 10 is different than the Windows 7 I used last time I was in the Microsoft ecosystem, but it's not too difficult to adjust to. One of the biggest things I was concerned about losing when leaving Apple was their Coherence functionality between iPhone and MacOS. Using Windows 10 though, they've done a lot to include the same functions. I can open a website in Safari on my iPhone, the continue using it on my Surface. I can use the To Do app on my iPhone and it syncs just fine with the same app on my Surface. The only function I miss is being able to send/receive text messages on my computer. I suspect Microsoft is working on that too though because a friend says his Android has that ability. Definitely give this a second look if you're considering a computer. You'll be glad you did.

Fantastic tablet and laptop replacement all in one
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendOne of the best computing devices that I’ve ever used. I flip back and forth with ease between the laptop and tablet modes, but mainly I stay in laptop and enjoy the extra tablet benefits such as touch and stylus. For someone who travels a lot on a plane, this device has been wonderful since I can work in tight spaces. It has a nice screen which is very bright and sharp, much better than my corporate laptop. This purchase included the keyboard which was nice. In the past you had to buy it separately.

Love my Surface But Would Change A Few Things
|Posted .Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendI absolutely love my Microsoft Surface Pro. I use it all the time and am now very protective of my computer as it's become a vital tool of mine that I use for both personal and business. The cons to this computer for me though would be that it has really slowed down and I am not sure how to get my files compressed. I do photography ans have a lot of large files connected to my one drive but even though they are not all on the computers hard drive, I have storage and speed space issues right now. My second con is the keyboard. I didn't realize how often I would set my computer on my lap and with such a lightweight and semi flexible keyboard, its not really an option to sit it comfortably on my lap. Oh and I wish it did have more usb ports!

Great Entry-Level Device!
|Posted .Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I bought the basic surface pro with the Intel "M3" Processor with 128 gb ssd and 4 gb RAM. Don't let this device's specs fool you-this is no wimp! For my primary use of doing online school work (which consists of running 3-6 tabs on my browser simultaneously), some MILD photo/video/audio editing, and just playing around, it does perfectly fine with little to no lag. The screen is gorgeous and windows 10 home runs smooth as butter on this thing. When pushed to its limits (and I have pushed it!) this device does get warm...Not Too hot, but very warm. I have been using this on and off since I got it and only recently have been using it on a daily basis. I can only recall about 2 times when this actually locked up and I had to do a restart. This surface shares the common gripes of poor "lapability" (not a huge deal to me) and lack of ports (again, there are plenty of work arounds). Also the chargers are poorly designed in my opinion. I have had to replace mine already. Battery life is ok but nothing to brag about. I average 4-6 hours with moderate use. For the combination of build quality, esthetics, form & function I personally have always loved the surface family of products and this entry level model is no exception. This computer runs as smoothly as the day I got it, and for that reason I plan to have this at least another 2 years.

Travel PC
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased the Surface Pro for a travel PC. I have a iPad and 17" laptop and was looking for something small with full Windows OS. However after using the Surface Pro for a few weeks I have come to the conclusion that I don't use the Surface Pro as a tablet; without the keyboard. The kickstand limits the flexibility of the device. For example you cannot use the keyboard without the kickstand pulled out. As the keyboard hinge cannot support the weight of the screen, unlike a traditional laptop. Therefore a traditional laptop requires less table depth, distance from keyboard to hinge, than the Surface Pro. Due to the distance from the hinge to the kickstand. This may become an issue with narrow tables like at a coffee shop counter, airplane tray table, or laptop arm attached to a desk. Additionally unlike a traditional laptop, if the person on the airplane in the seat in front of you reclines their seat, the screen on the Surface Pro cannot tilt forward, towards you. Only backwards. I also find the Surface Pro less comfortable when lying down on a bed and on an uneven surface. I would only recommend the Surface Pro, if you are absolutely sure you will use as a tablet. I don't. I may move to a 360 flip.

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Price is HIGH. The product works great, but do know you are going to pay for it. I use mine for school work, net browsing, chatting as well as light editing. For what I do this thing works great it is the full windows experience in something that is light. None of that android or IOS system that just looks like a big Smartphone. The keyboard is decent, I have had a few people tell me that they dislike the feel of it(feedback from keys) that is something to note. This is a super slim tablet with the windows OS on it, do not expect the cheaper model to run games or do high intensive editing. Plan to pay even higher. Pros: -Slim/light -It has a real keyboard -The pen is great -back light works well -Full windows OS and everything that works with it Cons: -Price... your paying for this -Battery life on mine is decent at best -It is windows...if you do not like windows you wont like this. -The pen and add on's are way to pricey, for the pen there are cheaper ones you can get online that are not as good but when they cost a forth of the price I can not justify it.

Great so far, but...
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe Surface Pro Core M so far, has been great for basic web surfing, online banking/shopping, streaming on Hulu, and checking emails. The picture is super clear and bright screen. I like the flip stand, and backlit keyboard is great for laptop use in the dark. I actually have not used all the other features yet, but will eventually try them out. My only problem (for now) was that the Surface timed out and turned off on me!...while I was web surfing...sooo hmmm, I checked the battery and I still had 43% left...ok. So, I turned it back on, and thought it was just a 1 time occurrence. I had 2 other browsers open as I was switching back and forth. I proceeded to do some online banking and as I was scrolling down, it turned off AGAIN! Ok, so, I thought my screen saver/lock screen was set for less than a 1 minute....no. Then I checked to see if the Surface was in "Tablet Mode"...no. So, I basically dismissed it (again). This happened 2 days after my purchase on Black Friday. I'm pretty patient and like the compact design and love how I can take it any where, so I planned to see if it happened again before I take advantage of the free Geek Support that came with this purchase. Well, it turned off 3 times (again) the following day, while I was checking my email. During these times, I was using it as a laptop (w/keyboard), but occasionally, touched the screen to scroll up, as I do not have the Surface Pen. So, now, I have an appointment for Geek Support...and definitely will be looking at the option of returning for a new product (was previously looking at the Samsung Galaxy Book) or exchange for a new Surface... Other than the turning off on me while actually using the Surface, for $700 (regardless of the Door Buster Deal), it should come with the Surface Pen as well. As for recommending this, I will put yes, but will obviously let them know of my situation.

Great laptop and work tablet
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is more than a tablet because of the interface with Microsoft Office. I am an English professor here and needed a lightweight laptop because I walk quite a distance to get to my classroom from the parking lot. My old laptop weighed in at 5.75 pounds - this one is ultralight and easy to use although if you don't touch the keyboard for more than 5 seconds, the screen has a tendency to switch itself off (?) - this can get a little inconvenient while lecturing. The Surface is not as intuitive as the Mac - installation of the software was a bit of a pain because you had to have a Chrome account before installing, which I didn't have. Here's an idea: why not sell the Surface with the Office software already loaded on it so you don't have to fiddle around with software codes and figure where to enter them? That would have saved about two hours of aggravation. This is what stops me from giving it a 5 star review. Nevertheless, I am thrilled with the weight of the Surface (at 1.7 pounds) and at the sale price, I basically got the keyboard for free. The keyboard is very easy to operate and typing on it is a breeze. I'm learning more about it and what it can do all the time, and I am looking forward to buying the Surface pen and Dial to start drawing with it.
