Customers are positive about the battery life, portability, RAM, size, touchscreen, and storage of this product, with many praising its performance and ease of use. However, some customers expressed concerns regarding the weight, finding it too heavy for extended use as a tablet. The app selection was also cited as an area needing improvement. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative comments.

Great dual purpose machine, I would recommend it to friends. It is expensive but lots of goodies. Remember (they don't tell you until your ready purchase) the key board is EXTRA, that SUCKS!

I sold my 15in MacBook Pro and my iPad 4th Generation and bought the Surface Pro 2 and it is more powerful and more portable then my MacBook Pro was and its more productive and useful then my iPad was. And now I have one product that takes care of what 2 device use to do.
My biggest problem that was I took my iPad with me everywhere I went and it was great for browsing the web and playing games but if I wanted to get some work done I had to know I was wanting to do work so I could take my MacBook Pro. With the Surface I no longer have to worry about that. Its a tablet when I need it to be and a laptop when I need to get work done.
Also comparing it to the iPad this thing is awesome because you can run more then one app at a time side by side. I can't tell you how annoying it was to switch between 2 apps back and forth when I was using a text book and taking notes. Now on the surface I have adobe reader on one side and OneNote on the other and there is no more switching between to apps. And speaking of taking notes the Stylus on this thing is amazing!
This thing is a workhorse as well because I have Ubuntu installed on a virtual machine and I'm able to do simulations for research. I have PhotoShop installed and it is extremely smooth and fast! I am also able to install MATLAB and do some problems in there. Doing all of that and still getting a great battery life is awesome!
The battery last me all day and I use it to take notes in about 5 hours of class each day. So it really does last 7 hours of good use. I am always worry that 7 hours of estimated time means 3 and half for me because I am a power user but even as a power user I am getting 7 hours which means if you aren't a power user then you can expect even a better battery life.
All in all this is the best product I have owned hands down! I do wish it was a little thinner and lighter but for the power packed into this thing I am definitely ok with it.

The Surface Pro 2 is amazing, to say the least. It provides everything you want from a desktop all placed into a simple tablet. If you're not looking for PC capabilities, this isn't for you.

I bought this because I wanted a tablet that was capable of playing games. The Surface Pro 2 is capable of playing many, but not all of the recent games with the settings turned down.
While it could certainly be more powerful, I do not regret my purchase.

Truly useful for work and play. Everything works. So glad to be done with the compromise world of iPad. I no longer say. "It's good enough." I say, "it's great!"

Can't complain, it's a powerful business desktop and very useful tablet.
But the docking station for it and it works like a desktop champ!
Buy a typecover and it's the best tablet on the market.

Nothing Less Than The Best

The title says it all. If you're considering a tablet, the Surface Pro 2 is the best place to start, if only because its speed and capabilities put all other competitors to shame.
I have the 256gb version, but everything here applies to the other three models; pick the one that fits your storage needs, and factor in the extra 4gb of ram on the top-tier versions and the 200gb of SkyDrive storage for all four, along with the standard microSD card slot on all models.
This has replaced my Galaxy Note 10.1. It has replaced my Lenovo Yoga 11s. It has nearly replaced the desktop that I built just a few months ago, which is now used strictly for the ultra high-end games that this device can't handle. With the Pro 2, you will find yourself with the best of both worlds and no need for the separate devices other companies would love to force you into buying.
If you really only need the basic functionality of a tablet, you should be looking at the Surface 2 (note the lack of Pro#, but either device is fully capable of replacing both laptop and tablet for the vast majority of people. And with new apps and hints at a potentially revolutionary software upgrade on the horizon, this is an incredible time for PCs in general, and the Surface line in particular.
And I haven't even touched on #pun intended) the high-end touchscreen or accompanying pen, which you really have to use to understand. I also HIGHLY recommend the backlit type cover to complete the package, and a screen shield to protect the investment. If you're buying from Best Buy, Geek Squad coverage is expensive but entirely worth it on a mobile product like this.
All day battery, stellar performance, a lightweight and rugged body - make no mistake, nothing else comes close.

I really like the Surface Pro 2, but Windows 8 is taking a bit to get used to. I thought it was going to have more useful apps, but most of the apps I found so far don't appeal to me. I am hoping that they keep working to develop more.
