This is everything you could ask for in a portable and user friendly tablet. It has more options than you'll probably ever use but they are there if you need them. Definitely worth every penny spent on this!

I love this Surface Pro 3! I have had an iPad for quite some time now but since I have been using this Surface Pro 3 I have realized how lacking the iPad is. I can do so much more with the Surface Pro. It has ports for many uses which the iPad does not. I will never go back to any kind of iPad. I'm sticking with my Surface Pro for everything.

I have been using this tablet/laptop combo device for 3 weeks now and could not be more pleased. Not only the computer but the accessories that all work together in a seamless integrated manner. Very functional, portable and user friendly. I bought one for my daughter as well.

I've had my Surface Pro 3 for 2 months and just got back from 1 month vacation and this computer was great on my trip. I bought it mainly for its portability but it has become my main computer.

I was given a Surface Pro 2 for work and other than the screen size, I loved it. This screen size is better with all the things I loved about the previous version.

This is so much easier for "on the go" times. Now I can work on my artwork without a tablet and on the couch. Just love it.

Breaks easily, not worth your money

I bought this computer for college about a year ago over the Mac that I was looking at. I thought I made the right decision, but I've had issues with my surface ever since buying it. It get's extremely hot and the fan is really loud. The lock button doesn't always work and so I have to act like I'm shutting it down in order to be able to unlock my computer. The keyboard doesn't always work and because of this I've had to take it into the Microsoft store countless times and spent way too long there. Now the audio isn't working with my headphones so finally I got fed up and contacted through chat a worker who told me I could exchange it for a mac if I got a new surface from the extended warranty. I was so excited! I realized that obviously an older model surface was not going to cover the cost of a new Mac but thought it could at least cut down the $1000+ cost. She told me to contact geek squad for details who told me it was not possible. Not only that, but I asked if there was any kind of buy back policy so I could at least put the money I received from my computer back towards a Mac but he very rudely told me that computers can only be returned fifteen days after purchasing. So my $1000 dollars and the two year warranty I purchased were a complete waste.

    It's OK

First, a little about me and what I do. I am an electrician who uses the Surface Pro 3 to program and troubleshoot industrial automation. I had a Toshiba before getting the Surface and looked at a Toughbook or a semi-rugged laptop or tablet but chose the Surface because it had good specs and durability for a good price. Mine is about 6 months old now, I haven't gone to Windows 10 yet. My biggest issues are really with Windows 8.1 Pro and how it relates to what I do. In comparison to Windows 7, Windows 8.1 is not friendly to my common tasks, especially using network adapters and serial adapters. It does not believe me when I tell it what drivers to use, does not retain settings well, and it does not run utility software well. If I could install Windows 7 on this machine I would probably be very happy. Office works as expected. The hybrid interface is a little awkward. I use the pen the majority of the time because the icons and menus are too small for my fat fingers and touchpad on the Microsoft Backlit Keyboard doesn't work well. At my desk I use a USB mouse. The display adapter is nice. The single USB port has been OK. Be aware that not all ethernet/serial/hdmi adapters are equal and the Micorosoft adapters are not necessarily the best ones. The battery life is OK, not great and it takes a while to recharge. The screen is OK in daylight, not great. The Wi-Fi adapter is OK. Overall, it is functional for what I do and the price was OK, but there haven't been any moments where I have been surprised by the ease or function and there have been a lot of moments of frustration as I have had to force or re-do settings to make it work.

    Love when it works, but....

I purchased a Surface Pro 3 in December of 2014. I had spent a lot of time researching and made sure to get all the specs I felt I needed. And I loved how fast it processed and how convenient and light it was. Then... after 18 months the internet adapter went out. As this seemed to be a reoccurring problem even on repaired units, I settled for an external adapter. A bit cumbersome but cheaper than a new device. Now 27 months after purchase, the device has completely cratered. It will not turn on at all. I loved the device when it worked, but am extremely disappointed in the defects and life span.

    Broken

I bought one of these at Best Buy a little over a year ago. Within 2 weeks, the computer would no longer connect to Wifi. I was given a replacement, and now the replacement has broken and won't turn on. I've been told that it can't be fixed and that I'll need to pay for a replacement since it's out of warranty. I very much regret purchasing this item.

not durable poor repair support logistics

we were very excited about this purchase. It cost us a lot but the features would contribute to our benefits. It has great features but is poor in quality, i.e. not durable like the iPad. If you buy this product make sure you purchase the warranty with it. If anything breaks on it the only authorized repair is by Microsoft. So you just can't take it to a BestBuy and have a screen replaced or other OS issue fixed. I will never buy a hardware product from Microsoft again until they have the support network that other hardware manufacturers have
