Very nice. Time will tell if worth the cost.

I wanted something small enough to easily carry into libraries and archives for genealogy research. I wanted it to also be useable like a tablet where I could take quality pictures of materials researched. I am used to a Windows format and while I liked the iPad, I did not want to lose my knowledge and control of the IO. I considered a windows tablet but wanted a keyboard and mouse, and the desktop function I am used to. They had a sale on this unit because the chip was being phased out so I took the leap. I am still adjusting to the small laptop size but the heavier tablet. So compromise between a laptop and a tablet... and cost. I am also having to adjust to Win 10 after holding out on Win 7 for so long. Lots of adjustments to make on my part! However am impressed with the Surface so far. Time will tell on durability and if it was worth the extra cost.

I was looking to replace my original Surface Pro (and iPad mini) that I used regularly. I was unsure if the m3 would have the speed to keep me happy, but decided to try it and return it if I was unhappy. I don't do anything that requires tons of memory - typical use is plenty of Excel, mail, web browsing, etc. Start-up and use is very speedy. I'm not a big gamer, but have been playing a lot of OOTP Baseball, and it runs perfectly smooth. I bought the deal that didn't include the pen and bought that and they keyboard separately - they are both amazing. So, I couldn't recommend this enough. I love that there's no fan and it doesn't get hot at all. Size and weight are a perfect balance. Was thinking of waiting for a Surface Pro 5 (whenever it comes out), but couldn't pass up the savings on this.

After a decade of using Apple laptops, tablets and desktops, I bought a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 because my new employer specified it. I am glad. There's a bit of adaptation to the Windows 10 environment, but I am most pleased with the quality and build of Microsoft Surface hardware. Thin, light and capable, it's very good when paired with a keyboard. Also, Microsoft makes it easy to connect cloud services and accounts without much hassle. Set up was less than an hour. A few small complaints: The power adaptor is a little wonky and proprietary, and the USB dock/hub is way too overpriced. The device itself could use another USB port and maybe a card reader, but overall, does everything I need it to do.

I purchased this to replace my Acer Switch Alpha 12 that had a cracked screen. I paid $100 more for this than I would've spent to repair the screen. I downgraded from an I5/8gb RAM to the i3/4gb RAM but have absolutely no issues. The Surface feels like it has the same amount of power. This device is perfect for school as it's super lightweight and portable! I travel a ton for work and I bring this and my work tablet and it's like it isn't there. Also, the battery lasted for an entire flight from Baltimore to LA, with juice to spare

I bought the surface pro 4 after UPS lost my laptop that I was sending to ASUS to get repaired. I was in my last semester of university and wanted something a little more portable than my previous laptop. It was the smartest buy I've made. It still has all the functions of my old laptop (minus the graphics card to handle anything other than sims and minecraft). It was really easy to finish my degree with this and I still use it now for minor gaming and tv watching. It's super practical for students or just regular people.

Purchased surface 4 with all the goodies and 3 weeks later touch screen failed! Geek Squad says tablet was defective and it was past the 2 week in store warranty therefore it was a Microsoft issue not theirs. Manager summoned and was no help! Went to Microsoft who fixed issue in two minutes by determining that updated software needed to be loaded for touch functions! Never again from BB. So disappointed and beyond frustrated. They will get no more of my money ever! Geek squad is a joke! PS: why is no stars not an option?

When it came time to get a new portable, this long-time Mac user was faced with a budget issue. For about the same price as Surface Pro 4, with accessory keyboard, I could get a lightweight MacBook with no ports. Ugh. Reluctantly, I bought the Surface and have been impressed. The hardware is solid, and the Windows is not the Windows I remember. Using cloud storage services, I can exchange information seamlessly between my Surface and my desktop Mac. Really a great machine to get work done on the road with no compromises.

    Horrible Battery

I thought my first one must have had a bad battery because I only got 3 hours of use out of it. I exchanged it and the problem continued. I have to put it in airplane mode and reduce the maximum performance to 45 percent in order to stretch it to 4 hours. The main problem is they advertise a 7+ hour battery life. That is simply not acceptable. I would have bought the MacBook Air if I could do it over again

Bought this to get rid of my old "brick" laptop as I travel frequently. The computer is very light and the power source is small as well. I am just getting used to the new software, but so far the performance is great. I also purchased the keyboard and pen, and use a wireless mouse for some tasks (old habits die hard). Only drawback is there is a single USB port. I have an older printer without Bluetooth, so I need to plug in my printer and then can't leave my mouse receiver in place.

This is a great laptop/tablet combo and it extremely lightweight. At first I thought that the keyboard/cover was somewhat flimsy, but it actually is very durable and snaps on and off in an instant but strong enough to stay on when maneuvering the unit around when changing positions even if is on your lap. I really missed having a hard-sided laptop at first but after the first week, I was sold! This is a really cool, modern version of the old heavy laptop and is here to dtay!

I bought and returned this computer. There was a lot of hype about it. I bought the m3 version 1st, but it licked up a lot due to the processor not being fast enough for what I was doing. I was told this one would be better. The pen was great, but for the price i bought a better computer that came with a stylus instead of paying for a lower model and buying the accessories to make it a computer. Would not be a bad computer if they dropped the price or added the attachments.

I bought this for my husband, who researched 2 in 1's and decided on this one. I know nothing about them; he was switching from a laptop. From the description, it seems that the keyboard is included - you know 2 in 1. But it isn't. He hooked up one he already had and was set. He also bought the "pen" they recommend - says it was very useful. After about a month of learning curve, he says he really likes it. It doesn't work well with Google Chrome tho.

I tend to use both Windows and Mac operating systems in my job. Until the Surface line was produced I felt most Windows based PCs were junk. A random configuration of parts from various manufacturers, not to mention all of the bloatware. The Surface Pro 4 is lightweight, solid, and versatile. I can easily switch in and out of Tablet mode and I really enjoy using the surface pen. The alcantara Signature Type Cover is one of the better keyboards I've used.

I had a ipad but I need a wins system computer for my daily use. Chose this surface , bought it while discount, also use a student coupon, for only a little bit over $450, great deal for me. This Microsoft Surface Pro tablet has a 128GB hard drive that's preloaded with Windows 10 Pro for compatibility with popular programs, which is the main reason I chose it. I can brought this for class use. five star product and great deal

I was able to get the Surface for $599.99 on sale during mother's day weekend. I'm so glad I picked it up. The Surface Pro is lightning fast. I'm an accountant and needed a machine that is portable and can handle large Excel spreadsheets and this does the job. So far I've worked on spreadsheets with over 60,000 lines with no issues. Battery life is great. I would definitely recommend.

    Be aware No Keyboard included!

    TheDoctor

No Keyboard included however in the advertisement 5 of the 6 photos has the keyboard included. Funny enough now that I look at the ad again they write Type cover and pen sold separately. This is very deceiving as they use an atypical name for the keyboard. Now that I check the price of the keyboard or otherwise called the typecover costs the same $100 off the sale price!

So far this has exceeded expectations. The keyboard and touchscreen are working like a champ, better performance and larger screen make it easier to use. Facial recognition as a password is a cool but quirky feature, have not figured how to turn it off. Very happy with the capabilities and the Microsoft Office components working well.

It is capable of everything I needed in both a laptop computer and tablet for my personal use. The modes transition smoothly, the interface is user friendly, and the reversable, magnetic charging port makes evrything easier. Beyond the basic nessessities, the art programs utilizing the stylus make this tablet a great tool for artist.

I bought this Surface Pro for my wife. She needed something small and functional for work that she could carry around. She initially wanted a lap top but I told her a Surface tablet would be better and fit her needs. She loves how easy it to use, how it takes up such lil bit of space, and hardly puts it down.

Overall not a bad product, good quality and great screen, but I'll be returning it for a number of reasons; 1) poor battery life 2) can be slow and unresponsive at times 3) windows is still not really optimized for tablets and high dpi screens 4) the windows App Store still lacking good, high quality apps.
