I want SO BADLY to love this product. It has a premium design, look, and appeal. The specs are incredible. The high resolution and color pallet are amazing. The device is so mobile. But unfortunately, I have had nothing but problems with it. Problem after problem. Here are the problems I have experienced: 1) When in sleep mode, the device gets hot and the battery drains. Battery is at 100% when I put the device in sleep mode, a few hours later I notice my computer bag is hot, I take out the Surface Pro 4 (hot), press enter on the keyboard, and the battery is at 76%. I have had to change the settings to Hibernate instead of sleep. 2) A myriad of times when waking the SP4 from hibernation or sleep, the device will not turn on. Hard reset is required. (Pressing and holding the power button for more than 10 seconds) 3) Other times, it wakes up properly, logs in quickly, and I will find that every application I have on the device has opened. When attempting to close or interact with these applications, nothing will respond. It will not let me close the applications or use them. The device is not frozen as a whole, just partially, as all applications are frozen. The start menu and the mouse cursor still work. System restart is required. 4) The device will completely freeze while web browsing or streaming a movie on Netflix or Vudu. Touch, Keyboard, and mouse DO NOT WORK. The device is literally frozen, and if there was a sound at the time it froze, the speaker will continue to play that sound as a endless buzz. Hard reset is required. 5) The system will at random perform a hard reset itself, taking me to a blue screen that states ":( Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you. ....If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" This happens during light/regular use. 6) Applications stop responding and a notification pops up saying, "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered..." 7) Battery does not last 9 hours. 5-6 fully charged in battery saving mode. 8) On one occasion, while streaming a video, the device's fan became much louder than usual. I touched the back of the surface, and the device was HOT!!! So hot I could have slowly cooked an egg on the back. I truly thought the surface might explode. I performed a system reboot and the issue has not reoccurred since. 9) The Bluetooth connectivity is poor. I have a Bose Soundlink II portable speaker system connected via Bluetooth, and a Logitech Anywhere MX 2 wireless Bluetooth mouse. The Bose speaker is connected to several devices. The mouse is connected to two computers (has 3 memory ids). When the Surface goes to sleep or hibernates, and reawakes, these Bluetooth devices are no longer recognized. They cannot find a connection. Trouble shooting guide dictates I turn the Bluetooth from "on" to "off" and back to "on". I did this. No connection. I turned the devices off and on. No connection. I put the devices in pairing mode. The Surface detects them as a new device, so I chose connect. No connection. The solution is the same as the previous: I performed a system reboot. Again though, after the computer goes to sleep or hibernates, the Bluetooth issue reoccurs. These are the issues I have experienced so far. I bought the device on November 23. I have been patiently waiting for Microsoft to keep their word when they promised they would have a fix soon. There are many updates but no results. Amazon is currently sending me a replacement. I will update this review if anything changes. I gave the device 1 out of 5 stars because it costed me $1,800 plus another $200 in accessories only to not be able to use it effectively, and at times, not at all. When many of these errors occur, it deletes any unsaved work, documents, or files. This is not the user experience I paid a PREMIUM price to have.

I bought the Surface 4 in December when it became available. I was really looking forward to the new laptop/tablet. My son has a Surface 3 and just loves it. I had read a ton of reviews and decided to purchase the 'beefier' model with an i7, 16GB of RAM and the 256SSD. It sat up easily and quickly. I added the docking station and the type 4 keypad. I attached a 23" AOC monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse along with a 256GB micro SD card and a 3TB external harddrive. I wanted the Surface because of the size and weight but needed a larger monitor when working on spreadsheets, documents, and databases. For the most part the system was great. Very responsive although the 3TB external harddrive was a bit slow, but it still worked fine. The Hello facial recognition was wonderful. You turn it on, the camera comes on, identifies you and logs you in, very impressive. And then my first problem started, there was a major update downloaded from Microsoft. After the update, the video would only flicker on and off. I called Geek Squad, and sadly, they told me there was "malware on the machine". Really? This seems to always be the first answer from Geek Squad. There was no malware on the machine, I run antivirus and anti-malware and keep my signatures updated daily. I then called Microsoft tech support and after about 2-3 hours I was told my only option was to reload the OS and all of my software. With Windows 10 this is a very easy process - kudos to MS, however I still lost over a days worth of work. Again all was good with the world until late January when MS sent down another major update. This time I lost the external keyboard and mouse, even plugging in a USB wired keyboard and mouse would not work. This time I just contacted MS, again working with them for several hours, I was told to reload again. I was not a happy camper. The last straw was another update from MS the first of March, this time I lost the external monitor. I called BB Geek Squad and they remoted into the machine, and again they said the machine had "malware" on it! Really guys? You need to get another script. The next day I called MS and again 2 hours later was told I needed to reload the OS again. Nope, wasn't going to do it. I returned to the store, told them my story, 3 times, and they very kindly offered me a store credit for the majority of the purchase. For this, I thank Best Buy and am happy to purchase a different laptop. So thank you Best Buy you made an otherwise disgusted customer much happier.

Pros: Screen quality It is fast Keyboard Pen applications Cons: Windows 10 in my business application Does not feel robust, feels flimsy Low battery life compared to a 13" laptop Numerous problems, see the review. Somewhere on the numerous Microsoft support web pages I have had to visit, I found an apology from Microsoft on Surface problems, although, they state they are listening and trying to make the product better. When Microsoft is apologizing for the product my recommendation is to not buy it. This purchase was to replace a fairly new Dell XPS 13 that had major issues in a mid size business setting. I am running ERP software as well as business grade dictation and file converting software. Plus the normal MS Office and web applications. Our IT department finally suggested replacing the Dell and recommend the Surface. One other had been deployed in our company successfully but not running the exact software I am running. The idea was that, if MS built the OS and hardware, it should work together. We purchased the keyboard, MS docking stating and MS cables. I am running docked 95% of the time. I have been running it for 4 weeks. Dell note, the XPS 13 I had was updated 2 weeks after our purchased to be more Windows 10 friendly. The Dell reseller we purchased it from would not take it back. Here is a list of issues I have had with the Surface Pro 4: Wandering mouse - sometimes the mouse jumps to the upper left corner of the screen when docked. Others have had this issue. Our IT tech read to disable the touch screen, which defeats the purpose of the device. He did so but the touch screen still works. The problem is better but not solved. When undocking or redocking, the screen sizes reset causes me to resize all open screens. When redocking the screen icons become very large. There is a message that this can be resolved by signing out and signing in again. I don't want to do that when I have 8 applications open with passwords. Sometimes the unit gets stuck in sleep mode. Others have had this issue and it is resolved by pressing the power and volume up buttons at the same time for a set period. (Probably an hour of on-line research to learn this.) I copied the instructions to Notes on my iPhone so I would know the procedure since I often need to use it. I have also been stuck in restart mode as have others. For whatever reason, PowerPoint displays very large when undocked and redocked. But not Excel or Word. Chrome crashed the machine so much I don't use it anymore. Flash issues? And, by the way, don't use Edge in my opinion. It did not work well for me. I could go on. Other issues, not problems, just opinion on my part after a month of use: Windows 10 is not ready for our business applications. It was the same with the Dell running Windows 10, just different problems. Compared to a laptop, the Surface Pro 4 is flimsy especially the support stand. Battery life is low compared to almost any 13" laptop. The 12.3 screen size is too small for me. A 13" is fine for me. On the positive side, it is very fast (I7, 16GM of ram), the screen quality is excellent and the keyboard is good. The other Surface Pro 4 we deployed has only had a problem wtih sound when docked. However, it is running different business software. If I had it to do over again I would not buy the Surface Pro 4 for my business application. I look forward to MS updates to fix these issues.

The Surface Pro 4 is really a nice unit, light weight, beautiful screen, fast processor, and plenty of storage. However there are a few tweaks needed. First, there is a problem with sleep mode - sometimes it fails to return from sleep mode requiring a reboot. Second is a reported problem with battery life. Many complain about not getting the spec'ed nine hours. I've been getting about 6 hours, but my unit has the faster i7 processor and 16 GB of ram, both of which use more battery power. I understand Microsoft is working on both problems, with an update due after the first of the year. Third, sometimes with scrolling and/or stretching the screen it gets a little glitchy. I'm sure this will be resolved also. Overall I am very please with this computer. It has run all my software without any problems, including some speality control stream programming and control software that would not run under Win7 64 bit. On the SP4 with Win10 64 it runs great. AutoCAD runs very fast and renders the image quickly. The Office Suite runs so well and fast it's almost like its reading your mind. I've not encountered any software problems, even with some older legacy programs. As a side note, I purchased a Surface Pro 3 for my daughter who is a graphic designer and website developer. She loves hers! I'm not letting her close to my new Surface Pro 4, as I might end up losing it to her and getting her SP3. I'm not a Windows, Microsoft, or Apple fanboy. I use what works the best for the job I'm doing. I have an Apple iPhone 6s+ and its a great smart phone. I also have an iPad Air that great for surfing the web and light e-mail reading and writing and some gaming. But, for serious work, I use Windows and Intel processors. In business applications the can't be beat. Overall the SP4 is a great machine and I would purchase it again.

A bit about me. I have had every generation of Surface except the pro 2. This year, I bought the new Surface book, absolutely love it! Reviewed it as well. But, Something about the Surface Pro 4 made me want it. So, I waited and waited and waited for the 16gb models to be released, and finally they were. So, I got one. Yea, I know, I have both, but you don't get to elite plus status without excessive spending lol. Anyhow, with specs, that are now on par with apples MacBook pro...The Surface is the clear cut winner. I got it running, and it immediately told me there was an update for windows, but I deferred, because I wanted to see if my machine was having the issues that others were. It did. So, at that point, I did the update, and vwallah...no more problems. I got it with the fingerprint scanner type cover, which I can also touch on. In hindsight, I don't really think the fingerprint deal was all that necessary, since Windows 10 has native Facial Recognition for logging in. But its still a nifty feature. But the keyboard, oh the keyboard, is so great. The travel is flawless, its accurate, and its comfortable! The Surface itself is as beautiful as ever. Its the same relative design as the pro 3, just a tad skinnier. There is less bezel, so the screen is bigger in the same size device. Battery life is as good as the pro 3, but I do not see significant improvement, though that may come with software updates. I elected to go with the 256 instead of splurging for the 512, because 1. my surface book is the 512, and 2, this has a micro sd card in it, and I picked up a 128gb micro sd card at bby for like $45. The iPad pro is much thinner, its also quite goofy just to hold. I am comfortable using a surface in tablet mode, and of course, the built in kickstand is incredibly convenient! Suffice it to say, I would highly HIGHLY recommend the new Surface Pro 4! But I said the same thing last year about the Pro 3! Apparently, I am a Microsoft fanboy. Hope this helps!

Good computer, feels like a beta

My surface is an overall good computer and has served me well for the 2-months I have owned it so far. The problem is that there are at least a handful of features that feel very "beta" to me, and the most blaring of which is the Windows Store. Luckily, we have all gotten along long enough without having the Windows Store to be able to use a computer and install programs without relying on it. The problem, at least for me, with the windows store is that it is constantly becoming corrupt to the point that no applications will install or upgrade without throwing errors and NEVER getting upgraded. The fix according to Microsoft is to delete the user account altogether and create a new user account to start from scratch. Currently I am on my 3rd account and the store does not make it more than 24 hours without inheriting the same errors over again. Hooray system reset! That may fix it, but it's too much work to be let down less than 24 hours later with the same issues. The other issue is "sleep" mode. This mode is not thought out well with the surface at all. Closing the type-keyboard onto the surface would normally put it into sleep mode and then one would think that it would wake without issue, but it ALWAYS comes back with NO touch support. And there is seemingly nothing you can do to get it back. Can't stop and start a certain service as a reliable "work-around", can't have the screen saver kick in and put the surface to sleep after 15 minutes unless you no longer want to be able to use it as a touch screen. It's things like this that have caused me to wish I did not spend the better part of $2000 on a computer. I wish I could find it within myself to give it a full 5-stars based entirely off of the exorbitant amount of money that I spent, but I refuse to mislead others because of my misfortune...

I've been an avid Apple user since 2007 but have been very impressed with Windows 10. I need a Windows laptop for some side teaching that I do, so I decided to invest in a Surface Pro 4 (SP4) to replace my aging and underpowered Dell. I purchased a high-spec SP4...16GB RAM, i7 processor...since technology only moves forward and I plan to use this thing for 3-4 years. The good.... It really feels like a laptop when you get the keyboard cover! Makes me forget it is a tablet and the screen clarity and resolution is very sharp. Performance lives up to expectations, plenty fast with 16GB RAM and i7. I use VMWare (have yet to try Microsoft's version) and need the memory when I'm running a LINUX VM or Windows server. I like Windows 10. It's no Apple El Capitan but is streamlined and utilitarian, very usable. And I dig the pen! Never knew I liked using a pen until I I got the SP4. The "meh"... I keep running into the screen-locking and "device sleep" issue identified in other reviews and it is REALLY irksome, the reason I give it 3 stars instead of 4 stars. Nothing I can't overcome but in the words of a Thomas the Tank Engine story, it causes "confusion and delay". Seems to be hardware-specific and not necessarily Windows 10, NEVER had this problem on my old (and slow) Dell laptop. Tablet mode? Not for me, to big, bulky and heavy. Price is not commensurate for what you get, either. C'mon Microsoft....this is your hardware and your OS, make them play better together! In summary.... Sure, I would recommend the product with the caveat that you are purchasing a product where it appears integration of the hardware with the software still needs to be debugged. I still prefer my Apple Mac Book Air, iMac and iPad but this is a good laptop product for utilitarian use. As a tablet? Not yet, Microsoft still needs to get it right.

I can definitely say the surface pro 4 and surface book lead to some of the worst experiences I've had with laptops. I was averaging around 2 hours of battery life (surface pro 4) with most of that draining while it was closed in the bag - would also be incredibly hot. My buddy was pretty surprised the battery life for the surface book dropped once you removed the keyboard and could never get it to work properly. With both, the touch screen randomly stopped working, so did the pen (at LEAST once a day) and the trackpad was pretty useless on my surface pro 4. My buddy returned his surface book in a about a week and a half - I wanted to return it then but held on to it because of school until Christmas returns were up - gave me two months to fully loathe the device. I think the worst was that the display driver would go out but you couldn't tell if the surface was on or not - no LEDs or anything, I kept having to just press the power button for a couple minutes until something happened. Considering I had an i7 and an i5 (exchanged for the i7 later), it was pretty confusing that I could hear the fan blaring and all I was doing was some excel or onenote. I keep seeing that updates are coming in a few months but I still don't think it's going to be very usable for a while - also, give me a LED indicator so I know what the thing is doing.

Hi, thanks for stoping by to read this review, This is my 3rd SP4, all whitin less than 30 days. I had a really bad experience since the first one: 1-Surface Pro 4 (i5): looking great.. installed all my programs bougth MS Office.. touch screen started to act up, didn't recognize my fingers and the device wont turn on after put to sleep. 2-Surface Pro 4 (i7): same sleep issue, whenever I closed the keyboard it will go to sleep and never come back on, Microsoft site says that I should make a "HARD RESET" each time that happen, this is not ACCEPTABLE AT ALL for a Premium device on this price range. I ended up returning this one, looking to get a MacBook Pro, I needed a personal computer that actually woks.. but someone at BestBuy convinced me to try anotherone for the third time.. (really nice guy and excellent service by the way!) so I bougth another one. 3-Surface Pro 4 (i7) 16Gb: SAME ISSSUEEE!! close the keyboard (new keyboard also) and it just wont wake up, black screen and not responding. needed to do a hard reset again.. I'm writing this review on it but I will be returning it ASAP. I don't know if its bad luck and I got the 3 of all the ones in best buy that had this issue.. or maybe a hardware or firmware update, but I downloaded everything last night and it has the same sleep issue. I don't undestarnd how a 4th Gen device has this sleep issue unsolved. I wont be recommending this device to anyone in my office or family. Arturo

I work with a 1 page Excel-based service report. Accuracy is of the utmost importance, as well as ease of use and being able to easily and accurately deliver these to my clients via email. I also store them on my PC. Now with Microsoft Office 365 I also have a copy on OneDrive. I have to write on them, and get signatures too. I have been using an Android based tablet with WPS Office, and while I have made do with that, the load and save time has been taking too long, I would get about a 25% save fail rate where I would have to save a 2nd time, and the fail to save rate as well as the load and save times were getting unbearable. My Verizon rep recommended an iPad pro, I got the best one they offer, but found that the handwritten data was not saving properly, and some written data, even though I was manually saving each form, was not being saved. I purchased the Microsoft Surface 4 i7 16gb RAM unit and Chris and Justin helped me with the selection and setup. Every service report is perfect now, easy to save and load, and 100% accurate. They made sure that their price on everything that I got was the best, and then some. Their excellent customer service and knowledge was a real bonus.

I could never recommend the Surface Pro 4 to another person for one clear reason, FORCED UPDATES. I have owned the Surface Pro 4 for 10 months deciding to give it a try instead of getting a new Macbook. Two months in it started an updated in the middle of a photo shoot. The ½ hour wait did not sit well with the director paying his talent to be at the shoot. Five months in it started an update on a night I needed to get a project done and quick, only to wait an hour for the update to finish. Today was the final straw. I turned on my Surface to double check a Power Point and when I went to shut down it started the anniversary update. This was 45 minutes before the presentation. I called MS to see if I could cancel only to be told it was my fault for rebooting my computer. “Updates only happen when you reboot or shutdown so it is your fault you can’t use your Surface”. In the end my presentation was done on another person’s computer because my Surface was still updating. Apple was not perfect by any means. There were updates that had issues but they were done when I decided I had time to deal with them. Never in the 8 years using a Mac did Apple force an update on me. In the end the Surface is the best photo editing computer I have ever used when Microsoft will allow you to use the computer I paid for and own. Telling me Windows is a service and they will do updates when they see fit to do it.

I'm very comfortable using it for almost everything I do. But the very cool pen click to start OneNote doesn't always work. I got bit while on a conference call with a customer. I needed to take notes, but OneNote didn't load. Also, the pen drawing on Excel is not consistent. The ports are also a bit limited, but I do like the mini display port because I can connect it to my Apple Cinema display (a benefit that is probably unique to me). But even with the few issues I have with it it's a very enjoyable and versatile device. Looks great on an external monitor, but I have felt my mouse a little clumsy when using apps on the second monitor. I have grown fond of the pen - especially writing text with it. Almost makes no noise, great for working in bed while my wife (the sane one) sleeps. At this point, I'd hate to go back to my Macbook because of the touch interface. I tried the new Macbook Pro with the touchbar, but was not impressed. I like using the pen and fingers and keyboard quite a bit and would hate to only have the keyboard and mouse to interact with the computer. i7 with 16G and 256 drive runs all my apps pretty well. It's a tablet, but also as powerful as a full-featured computer. I like both modes, tablet and PC. I also like the fact that the keyboard snaps on and off magnetically.

The purchase of this Surface Pro 4 comes on the heels of two aging desktops on the verge of failing. Using two computers (sometimes 3) had it's drawbacks even with a majority of my work residing on the cloud. Could the Surface could handle a daily workload that includes occasional image editing and a wide range of applications running at the same time. Could it handle daily changes of connections to a MS Surface Dock in two different environments with a myriad of diverse peripherals? Short answer? Yes! After a couple of months, I am loving this setup. The Surface Dock connects easily and updates drivers quickly. It's powerful enough to handle anything I seem to throw at it. In short, I love the Surface Pro 4 and the ease of with which the Surface Dock allows me to create a complicated desktop environment with dual screens and multiple peripherals. Using the Surface alone allows for an easy switch from Desktop to Tablet mode. Pretty slick. The downside? Typing on your lap is not nearly as convenient as with a true laptop. The convenience of folding the keyboard behind the screen and using it in Tablet mode however is a a fair trade off. Thumbs up from me. 5 Stars. BTW... I highly recommend the Urban Armor Gear - Case. Great protection and no limitations on the functionality of the Surface.

My surface is a real game changer for me. I am always on the road with me being in sales. It seems like my office is where my truck is parked. The surface really allows me to be more flexible than my iPad allowed. I can now have my computer with me in sales calls and can fill out order forms on site instead of doing them when I get home (or on my iPad which was tedious and time consuming). This allows me to get my work done when I am on the road instead at home when I want to spend time with my family. It runs all the same programs my laptop does so I can use photoshop and Adobe Pro to modify the PDFs that i use and design and display my products. I use the surface dock at home paired up with 2 computer screens to replace my laptop. Now all my files are with me at all times and I don't have to rely on cloud services which can be vulnerable. I can load everything up on a portable hard drive or USB and keep everything with me.

I spent more than I wanted too especially when you add in the type cover and other goodies. I am pleased with this over a laptop as this is less bulky and more maneuverable. It'll be hard to ever go back to a standard HDD with the extremely quick boot from the SSD this has. This product is very nice and responsive and has been great since I am mostly confined to my bed having recently broke my ankle. I have been using MS Office and email to get work done and when not working using for web browsing and games. Only issues: Spent $500 more than I really wanted (new product price will drop in future but I like new, now and more elite products to last longer to get better ROI) Every once in awhile it'll freeze and i'll have to hold the power button to reboot. (everytime has been on a Yahoo page with a video no other sites) However I got this because my desk top is 8 yrs old and I have to work from bed. I wanted something new, can use in bed, very portable, compact, responsive, can be used as tablet or laptop. I spent more than I wanted because I wanted the better processor and more ram (I7 and the 16 gb) and this is a long term investment. I hope to have for quite awhile and have a decent return on investment.

I set out to get a Surface that I could do all of the stuff I did on my old HP 17" i7 laptop. It is my first Surface Things I do are - Programming with Visual Studio, Video production with Adobe CC, and a lot of the other things that most people do (and probably much more). The only concern I had was that it does not have a dedicated graphics processor. I have found that the Surface with the i7 processor handles my video processing and transcoding just fine. The heavier processing does make the fan go most of the time, but the Surface does not seem to get to hot. If you have a heavy load of video processing or related tasks, you might consider the surface book with dedicated GP, but this one is working great for my needs. I am really happy with the functionality of this device. I use the pen more than I expected. The pen single click to bring up OneNote works great. I've been using it to keep a journal. I also think that the 'hey Cortana' feature is very handy when I need a quick answer or reference.

With the dock, I spent $2,500 on this laptop. I bought this for the same reasons everyone else did. I wanted a slim laptop computer that I could write all over when I needed to. When it works, I love it. BUT I CAN'T GO A SINGLE DAY WITHOUT MULTIPLE CRASHES AND REBOOTS. It's the buggiest computer I've ever owned. I'm always on the phone with technical support in India. Some of them have no idea what I'm saying or describing. Best Buy has 15 day return policy...long enough for you to excuse away the crashes, but short enough to regret buying it on day 16. And only 4 months of technical support from Microsoft? Are you kidding? Oh wait, it's this NEXT firmware update that will completely fix all my display driver issues...the next one... Just wait to see if Microsoft gets this ironed out BEFORE you spend this kind of money.

While there may be some lingering issues that still need to be fixed, this still can be used for general productivity. However, if you buy this for some portable PC gaming, you will likely be disappointed. The SP4 tends to heat up pretty easily, so the fan kicks up top notch about all the time with mid to high end games, which will result in dropped frame rate. Undervolting and/or using additional cooling cannot fully overcome this issue, especially with the CPU TDP limited to a mere 15w (as opposed to 25w in the Surface Book). However, it is fine for very, VERY, light gaming. I returned this unit and bought the i7 8gb/256gb dGPU Surface Book instead, which works well for portable hybrid productivity and gaming. If you wish to get more bang for your buck, for either the SP4 or SB, I'd recommend getting the lowest capacity SSD (256gb) and get an external SSD (like a Samsung T1 or upcoming T3).

So far, I'm really loving my new surface pro 4! It's small and can be carried around everywhere I go. It's also convenient that it's versatile and can be turned into more of a laptop style item by simply inserting it into my Brydge keyboard. I was worried that the screen might be too small, but it is the perfect size. If for some reason you aren't able to see a certain smaller sized text on the screen, you can always zoom in, enabling clear vision for whatever you are viewing on the screen. I did find it to be pricier than I would have preferred, but I do plan on having this for a long time, therefore it pays for itself. I love the fact that it has basic features that a tablet/smartphone has, but also the ability to be used in an office setting, as you are able to perform work using Microsoft Word and Excel. But beware of the fact that it is technically considered a tablet and not an actual laptop/computer, in case you plan on downloading certain chrome extensions, or downloading other software that is strictly compatible with actual laptops.

I wanted so badly to like this surface pro 4. I looked at it for months before pulling the trigger as an Xmas present for my wife. I got the i7 with 16ram and 256 gigs. Aesthetically, it looks great. However, unfortunately the issues I read about it not wanting to start up after going to sleep reared its ugly head and it got so frustrating for my wife that she stopped using it. I even tried adjusting settings for it to hibernate instead of sleep ( based on recommendations online ) and still nothing. We tried for 4 days to like this but at this price point these types of issues shouldn't be there. I returned it and the sad thing is the customer rep even told me that they've had a lot of returns of this s.p4 for the same issue. I'm gonna wait till Microsoft gets on the ball and fix this well known issue then try it out again. Good luck to you if you buy it before they fix this issue - Suren
