The battery seems to last through the day when I am in class. It is very lightweight, and great for grad school and reading a lot of electronic documents/readings

The older generations suffered from a lack of ram. All the new ones with a i5 as least have 8 gigs of ram. You can do anything except hardcore gaming. Get a mini display port and put in as big of a monitor you want. No need for the docking station but you could. The keyboard works great but plug in the usb keyboard and mouse, then you have a pretty good desktop.
