Worthy of the price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this device. I had the surface Pro 6 before I upgraded. This new device is superior in every way, its faster, the screen is so much better, the battery life is good for a surface device. Not all day good but good enough for a windows device. LOL the 120 hertz screen is butter. "taxes the battery though" If you're thinking about getting this computer, pick up the keyboard because it's not at it's best without it.

Versatile Device
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very solid device with a lot going for it. I use it primarily as a music reader. Pros: -Active cooling: when I perform outdoors in the sun it gets hot and throttles but doesn't shut down, likely because the fans keep it from going critical. My friends iPad on the other hand has shut down in the same conditions -Windows: this can serve as my laptop on the rare occasion that I need it to -battery life: I have done 6 hours of rehearsals without plugging in and it had enough buffer to not make me panic. Of course that varies based on conditions but I've had no problems with the battery life. Cons: -Only optimized for use in landscape: I use this most often in portrait orientation and it presses the volume down button under its own weight. I ended up disabling the volume rocker, but when starting up it will boot into BIOS if the volume down is pressed. -Expensive accessories. Anything that goes with Surface is pricy. Cases (what few there are) and the official pens and keyboards. I use the version one pencil since I got a good deal on a B stock but I would never pay list price for the keyboard cover and slim pen. Ultimately this has been a wonderful addition to my music bag and I'm so glad I'm not carting three binders of music to gigs anymore.

Graat Tablet/Computer
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m use to a 17” laptop, but I love my Surface Pro. It is fast easy to move around, I got a keyboard so it’s just like a laptop!

Incredible machine for students
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an engineering student, I was looking for a device to carry around that would primarily let me take notes on, peruse the internet for research, and read my textbooks while simultaneously highlighting. This meets all of my expectations. Stylus latency is low and the display is great, allowing for exceptional note taking. My only criticism is thay the battery life is not what Microsoft claims it to be, but it will still last you an 8-10 hour school or work day starting with a full battery. I went for the base model (core i5 with 8gb of RAM and 128gb SSD), and it's enough for my needs, but do note that 128gb storage is misleading because Windows OS consumes a significant portion, so if you need more storage space, pony up the money or just use a syncing cloud storage like me. You can also upgrade the SSD since it is removable from the device.

Microsoft pro 8
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely comfortable and confident item. Is a good laptop for business and school. I also use some of the art programs pretty easily. With the Microsoft it is exclusive so there are limitations to apps you can get or ports used. In order to plug in my mouse I had to buy a extension port hub.

Best Surface pro yet!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are wanting a professional grade tablet, Microsoft Surface Pro's have almost always been the best way to go. And the SP8 is by far the best one yet for several key reasons: - USB-C ports and charging - smaller bezels - 11th gen Intel processors and iGPU - Thunderbolt 3 which makes this the first "expandable" SP - replaceable NVMe SSD So, why only 4 stars? Surface Pro's are (in my subjective opinion) close to being perfect as a professional device. However, there are a couple factors common to all SPs (and one new one) that keep them from being a complete no-brainer: - value. Surface Pro's have always been a little pricy for the hardware you get. This is justified by the tight form factor, but is a point to consider. - Durability. It's an expensive, very non-rugged tablet... you will need to protect it so that it can live a full life. - non-replaceable memory. Having a replaceable SSD is a great start, but just shows that Microsoft could make memory upgradeable as well of they really wanted to. This would help with the Value points as well, but would likely cut into MS's profit on the high end. - Windows 11. Having tried out W11 for the last few months, I am not a fan. It continues Microsoft's trend of deciding they know better than me on how to admin my own systems that *I* own. Many of these make sense as OoB defaults, but Microsoft has also continued the trend of removing the ability to change these configurations to what makes sense to the owner. That makes ANY computer running W11 (specifically the Surface Pro 8 in this case) feel a little less professional on my subjective opinion.

Poor Battery Life
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not going to say I didn't love it because I did! Everything about it is great, it's light, efficient, can do so much more than just a tablet, but the only thing is the battery life is very short. On a fully charged battery it lasts me about 4 hrs and automatically shuts off at 4% I have no idea why. I bought it for school so I'm a little nervous about having to use it all day. Other than the battery life, it's amazing.

A Must Upgrade from the Surface Pro 7!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Surface Pro 7 and purchased (trade-in) this as an upgrade. Best buy had it on sale and I'm glad I upgraded. The faster processor, bigger screen and the better battery life was worth it alone. I've had iPads and liked them, but I'm a windows guy and my job is windows centric as well. The iPad does smoke the Surface Pro, but the surface pro is more productive for me. I highly recommend the surface Pro 8 for surfing the web, streaming and most importantly the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.

Great machine
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great machine. This surface pro came with an i5 and 8gb memory, but it still beat my 15" surface book 2 that had an i7 and 16gb ram. It's light. I love the slim pen and keyboard combination which I had to purchase separately, since Best Buy was out. If you're technically inclined, purchase this with the 128gb ssd for $899 currently and upgrade it to 1tb for around $300, way less than the price.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lightweight and durable is just what I needed. My second one and it just keeps getting better. Rechargeable stylus, fast boot time and strong battery means I’m not waiting for anything to load or charge.

A full Windows PC in a little package!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife loves this thing… she was jealous of my iPad, but didn’t want one herself. She wanted more than just a “big phone”, so we looked at the Surface, and it’s 100% perfect for her. Small enough to throw in a backpack for travel or camping, but it’s a Windows machine, so she can do everyday a “normal” laptop can do. Heck, she hooked it up to her Dell docking station from her work setup, and it ran two other monitors with ZERO slowdown! She’s absolutely thrilled with it!
