Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the Surface Pro 8's portability, screen size, and performance. Many appreciate its lightweight design and the speed of the SSD. However, some customers point to the battery life and the need to purchase the keyboard separately as drawbacks. This tablet has surprised me with how well it works and the many apps available. It does everything my iPad does and more. The fact that I can attach a flash drive to it to quickly download documents has been a huge plus. I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

This laptop is running smoothly and there is nothing I could complain about the processing speed of the machine. 1 down point is the keyboard attachment with the surface which hard to put on your lap when you are on sofa/bed

Great device - greatly enhanced from prior versions both in look/feel as well as speed and capabilities. Smooth interface and UI with high quality deep sound. Has quickly become my go to device for travel. Definitely get the keyboard to expand its use.

I chose this Surface because I loved my last one...an older model that must retire. This one is much improved and faster. Like with all Surface models the amount of inputs is limiting so get the dock station. It's transitioned from what was USB-C standard to USB-A which many devices are going towards. If you've not fully converted, you'll also want to get a cable adapter.

Solid Upgrade, but Not Quite Perfect

A very nice upgrade over the last few Surface Pro models - thinner, bigger display, smoother screen. The only downsides are: - Lack of USB-A ports (and thus needing to buy an adapter) - Kickstand can be a little difficult to open, It's very stiff, which inspires confidence when using the device, but can be a little frustrating trying to actually open it in the first place.

I love the speed and portability of this device. The battery life could be better, I get about 4 hours of use on the battery. Resolution is awesome for a device so small text is always easy to read. When I compare it to the MacBook air I do wish the screen was just a tad larger for side-by-side documents.

I haven’t had a lot of time with it yet but so far I’m enjoying this tablet. I only wish that the keyboard, mouse and pen had come with it too but I have a touchscreen which is something new to me. Overall I would recommend buying this.

Really like my Surface Pro 8. I upgraded from the Pro 4. Both were good machines. The 8's battery life is much better. I like the thinner bezos. Speakers sound good. Thunderbolt 4 great option. Expandable SSD. Lot of things to like.

Had a Surface pro 6, which it was great. Saw this one on sale, and it was time to upgrade. Was between this, a Samsung 360 book2 pro, and the yoga 9i… definitely made the right choice!

Outstanding tablet computer. All the power of a windows machine in a light tablet. Add the keyboard and you have the best of both worlds the power of MS windows and the convinces of a tablet.

The Surface Pro 8 is an amazing and lightweight device for both personal and business use. Unfortunately had to downgrade to windows 10 for our business use, but everything worked out of the box.

A great tool for digital artists. It can run both Adobe illustrator and animate with the help of its fast i7 core processor. Best way to buy cheap is to trade any devices like a laptop or ipad.

Love this computer with a touch screen. We are having fun learning to use it! It is more expensive than wanted to spend. Time will tell if the extra expense is worth the enjoyment & expanded features new to us.

Amazing product. This is a nice evolution coming from a Surface 5. The increase in screen size is great and overall I am very satisfied with the new version. The addition of the USB C (x2) is good but I miss having at least one USB Type A to avoid using any adapter. I only wish having an OLED display by now.

So far a great device! Performance is excellent and the feel in the hand is great. All the stuff you'd normally expect. USB C makes sense but annoying to need dongles for things, though having two is a real bonus.

Where to put the pen when the keyboard is gone?

I love my surface pro 8. Coming from a pro 6 I was supprised to discover that the surface pen doesn't magnetically snap to the left side of the screen anymore. I'm left with the impression that Microsoft forgot that this isn't exclusively a laptop. Don't get me wrong, the surface devices have never really functioned as a stand alone tablet, but I frequently ditch my keyboard when I don't need it. In thoes times I'm at a loss for where to store my pen. This is made worse because older versions had a simple solution that is now a habit. And on top of that, there are plenty of magnets buried around the sides of the device that only almost keep the pen stuck. It maddening because it's so close, but clearly not part of the design. I was excited to upgrade for the new power and Form factor, which are definitely great... For me it's just this one thing holding it back. PS. I once spent about 20 minutes trying to find my missing pen that had perfectly snapped to the inside of my kickstand. I only found it when I gave up looking, and decided to pack it up. I don't know if this is intentional... It certainly isn't the most convenient place for the pen but it's absolutely the most secure.

I've been using a surface go for teaching, but it just didn't pack enough of a punch. This has been a great upgrade. Everything runs quickly, and switching between programs is very smooth. The new pen that goes with the updated keyboard is also amazing. The tactile feedback and accurate touch response provide an excellent writing experience.

Its very handy and powerful if you use it as a tablet. Great display, great power, great battery. But as a laptop I will say its lack of ports and the fact that the keyboard its another completely seperate purchase thats over $100 makes it very underwhelming. Especially for such an expensive product.
