Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the Surface Pro 8's portability, screen size, and performance. Many appreciate its lightweight design and the speed of the SSD. However, some customers point to the battery life and the need to purchase the keyboard separately as drawbacks. The high price point and limited storage were also mentioned as areas for potential improvement.

I'm mainly salty that microsoft abandoned the surface book and hasn't come up with a good solution to using the surface on your lap. The textile keyboards they make are floppy and the kickstand is not comfortable on your lap. I tried several cases that claimed to make it more comfortable, all of them give pretty poor viewing angles (the functional hinge of the surface book used to solve that problem). I bought a Brydge 3rd party keyboard, which works, but adds a ton of weight. I should have just bought a yoga. I rarely use the surface pen anyway, and the yoga really functions as a 2-in-1 better. The surface is more of a 1-or-1, tabletop PC OR tablet. not both and does not do the PC function well enough for its pricetag

Newest model runs Super fast. Definitely the way to go compared to the surface pro 7.. did lots of research before landing on this being the ideal model. Purchased open box and set up. No issues, no flaws.

Great computer, super slim fit and sleek looking. The display is superior and very easy to use. Windows 11 runs super smooth except for one issue. I usually connect my pro to my bluetooth headphones and I have had a blue screen of death three times. Every time it tells me bthport.sys. Apparently I have to reinstall the Bluetooth bus driver. Searching online provides the links to the bus driver for pretty much all of Windows versions except Windows 11. This is rather annoying, when you spend a hefty amount on something that is somewhat buggy. Aside from that I bought this computer for a full stack developer course I have been taking and it has been working great for that.

Very nice machine. Very portable and love the pen location and the flexibility of the screen with the kickstand. Only issue is using it as a laptop as the kickstand is uncomfortable and takes up more space on you lap. Depending on your use case this is an excellent machine.

Windows feels very polished and smooth in Microsoft's own hardware. I love how it adapts the interface to a touch-friendly system when the keyboard is detached.

Good quality high speed tablet/computer. Convenient to cary around ansd use in any environment6. Fast Processor and fast wifi pickup time. The boot time is short and excellent. Good product ! I had a Surface Pro for 4 years. In time, the screen deteriorated to last only 60+ minutes befere started flickering. Sadly Microsoft never offered a fix for this hardware error which exceeded the standard warranty TIME (!!!) BE AWARE !!!

120Hz refresh rate makes all the difference in this vs the Pro 7. More rounded corners make it easier to hold, as well. Battery life still not up to par something line iPad.

I bought this to use instead of my dell xps13 for nursing school. I love love love it! Makes taking notes easy, light weight and it squeezes in my book bag with all my books! The pen for it writes smooth, the keyboard I like because I can keep it like a lap top or flip it around and just use it as an additional support stand for the tablet mode. Pretty happy with the purchase. Only sad about price because I’m poor lol

This is my third Surface Pro having owned the 3, 5 and now 8. The upgrade from 3 to 5 was pretty seamless. They used same charging cords, same keyboard connection, same display (notifications icon, etc.) and same input connectors (USB). SO I could transfer my keyboard, docking station, accessories. Didn't realize that was not the case with the upgrade to Surface Pro 8, No USB port, only USB-C so had to buy an adapter. Had to buy new keyboard. But the most disappointing part of the purchase is Windows 11 defaults to tablet mode and unless you connect a keyboard, you cannot use in desktop mode. No toggle between the two modes any longer. So waiting for new keyboard to come in along with port adapter. I wished the battery hadn't died on my Surface Pro 5; I would have skipped the purchase of the Surface Pro 8.

Bought this as an upgrade to a Surface Go. The 32 gb / 1tb is not available even online. It’s very fast- I can tell the difference between this and my older i7 gaming laptop with the same amount of ram. Where it fails for me is using it as an actual tablet. Holding it as a tablet results in accidentally touching the screen and messing up whatever you’re doing every single time because the bezel is too thin and close to the screen. I’m not a big person so I’d hate to see someone bigger trying to use this as a tablet. With a 1400 price tag it’s ridiculous to have to spend another 300 on a keyboard and pen. I expected the battery to last longer- I have a lot stuff turned off and power settings tweaked but it is still subpar.

I LOVE the new design of the Pro 8! I purchased the i7 model with 16GB of memory which was a HUGE step up from my Pro 7 with the i3 and 4GB. I'm loving my new surface; the display is larger and crisper, bezels are smaller, and the updated keyboard as well as the new slim pen (which I purchased separately) are refreshing and very user friendly. My only gripe is with the battery life... The display is brighter, crisper, and supports 120Hz refresh, which means much quicker battery drain - however, Microsoft failed to add a bigger battery to compensate.

Nice Upgrade from Surface Pro 6

It is much faster than my Surface Pro 6 and I doubled my memory from 8 to 16. The Surface Pro 6 charger and docking station work with the Surface Pro 8 - the connector has not changed. The Microsoft mouse I bought for the 6 also works perfectly with the 8. I was worried about compatibility. The old pen also works, but not as well as I'm sure the new one does. I never bought the Microsoft keyboard, so I can't say about it. My Logitech Bluetooth keyboard connects without a problem. Not being able to add a SIM card for extended memory is the only step backwards.

I bought the Surface Pro 8 as a seconadry, portable device to my Samsung Flex 360 Pro 15.9" laptop. The issue is that my Samsung is now under utilized! The Pro 8 has become my daily driver! I bought the i7 with 16 GB of Ram and a 256 SSD. Fast, reliable, and a great price! The only thing i wish Microsoft would have kept was the micro SD slim slot. It would be nice to add a 256 GB card in to double my HD space. Other than that, I love everything about this device!
