Customers consistently note the Surface Pro 9's portability, excellent screen, and strong performance as significant advantages. Many appreciate its lightweight design and long battery life, making it ideal for both work and school. While some users mentioned software updates and the lack of a headphone jack as minor drawbacks, the positive feedback on key features outweighs these concerns. The ample RAM is also frequently praised for its impact on application performance.

I bought with slim pen 2. Be aware that default keyboard that comes along with surface doesn’t have pen charger holder.

For something this pricey, I wish it worked better. I frequently experienced bugs, lagging, and general issues. Now, after only 8 months owning it, the screen will not turn on. I’m taking it in to see what is wrong with it. As much as I want to love this product, I do not think you get your money’s worth.

- The Surface Pro 9 is among the most well-built Windows device, rivaling Apple's build quality.
- It features a 120Hz, QHD screen with a brightness of up to 450 nits, suitable for indoor use and usable in outdoor shade.
- The 3:2 display is ideal for displaying word documents and web pages, and presents accurate and vivid colors.
- The screen's white balance adjusts based on the ambient light's color temperature, making it easier on the eyes, especially at night.
- The device's core i5-1235U chips offer fast performance for everyday tasks and heavy applications like Photoshop or video editors.
- It manages thermals well, doesn't throttle or overheat under normal use, and the fans are quiet even at max speed.
- The Intel Iris Xe Graphics perform better than previous integrated graphics on the Surface line, but there's room for improvement.
- It includes two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports that also accept power, but lacks a USB-A port, micro-SD card slot, and headphone jack.
- The M.2 2230 SSD is user-replaceable and accessible without any tools except a Torx driver to remove the drive from the device's housing.
- The device supports fast charging, which charges the battery to 50% in 30 minutes. Expect about 4-5 hours of screen time while using microsoft edge to browse the internet and microsoft word to type documents.
- The processor speeds are hindered out of the box due to Windows' battery-saving measures, but these can be disabled through the settings app.

Work gave me a Surface Laptop and I was hooked, so I decided to purchase a Surface Pro for my personal use.
Surface devices have the build quality, tactile feel and aesthetics to rule the Windows world and rival Apple. I particularly like the Surface Pro's form factor - it's very light and compact, yet sports a decent size screen and useful keyboard. The Surface Pro is great on a desk, but I have still ben able to use it on on my lap with no issues.
It's a nice bridge between a tablet and a laptop. It's more than powerful enough to get work done (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, are not an issue), yet the form factor can allow one to use it as an e-book reader and hold the tablet in hand.
The latest Surface devices have some key advantages over earlier Surface devises - the SSD is easily upgradeable, so storage is not really an issue. There are more than an adequate number of ports. The Surface "plug" can also connect to a Surface dock for even more ports.
The Surface Pro's best use cases are for people who need highly portable devices to get work done. College students who go from class to class; business executives who need to get work done on trips; doctors who need to take notes as they go from room to room are all ideal candidates for a Surface Pro.

As someone who's always on the move, the Microsoft Surface Pro with its keyboard has been an absolute game-changer for me. It seamlessly transitions between laptop and tablet modes, catering perfectly to my needs as a professional, artist, and student. Its lightweight design and magnetic keyboard cover make it incredibly portable, while its powerhouse performance effortlessly handles everything from multitasking to gaming. The vibrant PixelSense display and intuitive Surface Pen add an extra layer of creativity and productivity to my workflow. Plus, with its long-lasting battery, I can stay productive without worrying about constantly needing to recharge. In short, the Microsoft Surface Pro is the ultimate 2-in-1 device, offering premium design, unmatched versatility, and top-notch performance for whatever I throw at it.

Great bundle from Microsoft for most business user

This package from Microsoft (PC + keyboard) is a really compelling offering despite being priced with a premium. The i5 processor with the 16gb of memory is plenty of horsepower for most people. Obviously, it can handle light duty Photoshop, Illustrator, video editing and such but it was never meant to be a solution outside of casual business users.
This is thin and light for travel also and upgrading the SSD is really easy and even less expensive than buying the preconfigured version from Microsoft.
***IMPORTANT*** The keyboard included in this bundle will not charge a pen. Therefore, if you buy a pen separately you will need to buy the charging cable (USB-C) because you cannot charge via the slot in the keyboard.

Beautiful upgrade from older surface book

I upgraded from a surface book 7, so I was already familiar with the design. Everything runs much smoother on the 9, and the screen is beautiful. The 16gb of ram makes a huge difference in Adobe apps. The screen noticeably larger, although the footprint of the entire device is nearly the same as the sp7.
There's only 2 usb-c ports and no headphone jack. This can easily be worked around with cheap adapters. The keyboard it ships with does not have the pen charger, so if you purchase a pen you will also need to purchase a separate specific charger for the pen. The older surface book chargers work with the sp9

Beautiful fast running computer with all the bells and whistles of a 2 in 1 computer and tablet. Great for travel, just a tad bit heavier than the XPS models. Much easier to add microSD storage than the previous generations, especially to supplement the small 256GB non-expandable storage. 16GB is a minimum. Wish the battery life could be a bit longer though, 5-6 hours maximum on moderate use (videos, documents, browsing internet).

Love it. Easy to you and works fast. Touch screen is a nice touch. The keyboard is easy to use. Overall I am please that I purchased it although I think it was a bit pricey but competitive. My sister has an older model and I fell in love with hers so I decided to get my own.

Surface Pro 9 Tablet Review

The Surface Pro 9 Tablet is a tablet which, although I am not the tech geek in terms of specific hardware components, it will benefit the average user in more ways than you can think of. This tablet greatly assisted me with the day-to-day tasks of work use, and since I am a college student, it definitely provided me with top-notch performance where I felt like any task or assignment given to me can be done effortlessly on this device. It runs like a gem, doesn't take much time to turn on or off, and that display rate was smooth as butter! The keyboard it comes with is also a plus, as I previously owned a Surface Pro tablet and it did not come with a keyboard (although like prior models, this one does not come with the stylus). Battery life is great, as it often lasted me hours on a single charge (drains quicker the more tabs or applications you have open), and the volume is also excellent.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a 2-in-1 device where you can use it as a laptop and a tablet simultaneously!

Well made but expensive and niche use case

This is a very polished Surface device, and absolutely oozes quality. The rounded corners, and fluid operation of the kickstand, the magnetic SSD cover, the rich sounding speakers, the excellent webcam, and the 3:2 form factor are all done well. The screen is really good, but falls short of great. color richness and saturation are good but don't match mini led or OLED. Processor speed is fine when plugged in, but highly disappointing on battery power especially when in Recommended mode. Even with this speed reduction, battery life is so-so and gets downright bad under load or at higher settings. This would be one of the best tablets around, even with these limitations but Windows 11 is just not a tablet OS and there are basically no tablet apps in the Windows App Store. So you are left with a device that is hard to use on a lap, on an airplane tray table, on a bus, etc. but you don't get much tablet benefit. On top of this, even on sale, this device is expensive. Unless you really need this form factor, you are better off getting one of the many really good 2-in-1s.

Beautiful display, quick response to use either with a keyboard / mouse or just as a tablet. Performs great for office / school use and regular mundane tasks. I don't use the camera but it is fairly nice if you are someone who uses the camera a lot. Coming with the keyboard was a bonus, for a grand total of $1000 together. If you do purchase and need OneNote, download OneNote for Windows 10 - the updated windows 11 version is awful. At first I thought it was the SurfacePro but once I switched back, the notes are amazing on this. Light weight and slim as well, making it nice for taking on the go everywhere.

Not going to lie, there was a learning curve for me with the Surface. Even simple matters like "where are the ports?" had answers that were very different from decades of experience with computers. But I was immediately excited about the bright and crisp monitor (that's actually the computer) and the responsive and speed compared with my last laptop. It would have been helpful to know that a Bluetooth mouse made life a lot easier for me. I haven't had any reason to travel with the Surface yet but I am astonished by how light it is. And I haven't mentioned the fantastic price I got from Best Buy.

Great product from Microsoft! I have been using Lenovo all my life (doing 60-80 hour weeks) and used to believe Lenovo was the only beast out there. Been using the Surface Pro 9 for 2 months now and feel this product is even better. Extremely portable - light and easy to carry; great battery life - will easily last you 8+ hours. Seamless touchscreen experience. I even use it as a tablet especially to take notes during meetings as I like to hand write. The only issue has been the keyboard. the right direction key seems to be getting stuck so I might have to get the keyboard checked out / replaced as it should still be under warranty.

It’s lightweight but not flimsy. The keyboard and touchpad are responsive and feel good to the touch. The screen is gorgeous. The processor is fast, wifi is blazing fast, and the webcam is crystal clear.
If you’re using it for work, you really need the keyboard. I think the combination of having real Windows plus the lightweight but robust hardware makes the Surface pro far better than anything offered by Apple at the moment.
