Perfect companion to the Surface Pro 9. While it's not necessary I believe this Signature Keyboard is just what I needed to complete my Surface Pro 9 setup. Convenient charging slot for my MS Pen and provides great protection and grip when sliding in/out of my backpack!

The keyboard, while it is a little pricey is a great attachment to give it the laptop feel, especially if you get tired from touching the screen all the time, very responsive and easy to attach since it has a magnetic slot to stick into.

Recommendation would depend on what you wanted to use it for. It works fine. Strong magnetic connection to the pro and the pen to the keyboard. Nice to flip close and have it as a cover for the Pro. Sometimes I have to detach and re-attach for the keyboard to work. It's flimsy when I'm walking around using it for inspections.

This keyboard is comfortable to type on, it integrates well with my Surface Pro 9, and the pen storage is handy. The materials area really nice as well. My only complaint is that occasionally, the keyboard won't make great contact when I snap it on, and I have to disconnect and reconnect it.
