Windows 10 - Faster, better but some downgrades

Great operating system with tighter code, better security but with some apps missing like previous versions of windows. I would like to see the return of gadgets like the windows 7 clock. Boot Drive image backups finish under 5 minutes with an I5 6th Gen processor, 16 Gigabytes of memory to another internally mounted 1TB WD drive. Impressive for 70+ Gigabytes of apps and the operating system!

I pretty much had all the Windows versions and 10 not in favs. Is good but had many errors if you have a hard drive when you boot up it'll take 100% of hard drive for a while. Boot up takes a while. My fav is Win XP and Win 7. Constantly tweeking so i get good performance. That's why 4 stars. I have a quad core cpu and 16G of RAM.

Windows 10 is easy to navigate and extremely user friendly. If your computer has the requirements, install the 64 bit version (This item). It's cheaper.

So, learn from my mistake. OEM versions of Windows become locked to the motherboard they are first installed on. With Microsoft announcing that Windows 10 will be "the last version of Windows," it seems prudent to pay the few extra dollars to makes sure your OS will be tranferrable to new machines. Upgrading to my new machine made me wish I had done that with Windows 7 when I built my last machine. Anyway, this is the retail version The disk you can buy online by various retailers is OEM. Skip the disk. Buy the retail version that comes on a thumb drive.

I bought this Win 10 64 bit home install disk because I wasn't comfortable using the free Win 10. If something went bad what did I have to reinstall or repair? The disk installed Win 10 easily and then I installed a few million updates. I made a recovery disk and I have backup of my files to a USB off computer drive. I'm comfortable now.

What can I say it works. That's about it. Nothing Outstanding or even a WOW factor of any kind. Just another brick in the wall for us to have to buy to build the great Bill Gates & Microsoft monopoly. Oh Yeah! when's 11 slated to be out :)

Like most people I'm reluctant to change but in the case of Windows OS it's either accept it or, well, eventually accept it! It's acceptable, will just take time to get used to it.

Microsoft provided a fast and highly functional product in windows 10. The bugs are minimal and easily fixable with a restart. Gone are the days of hours upon hours of troubleshooting. It's a good product with mountains of good software that runs on the platform.

NOT retail version

They still have not changed the item description to state this is the OEM version. Retail costs much more. You can't move your operating system to another computer with OEM. Not worth the lower price - get the retail version or you'll probably regret it later. Otherwise I like Windows 10 more than I thought I would. Hardware installation seems to just work (like Linux) for once without constantly hunting drivers and updates. Only irritating thing is forced updates. This has caused a few headaches when things like the Start menu mysteriously stop working. A fix is usually easy though.
We hope that helps and thanks for being a part of the Microsoft family.
Sincerely, Jo Windows Customer Care

After years of using Windows products, I can attest that Windows 10 has improved since its first release. Engineers are slowly working out the kinks, although it will never be able to touch the likes of Windows 7. But, it's the times, and you must move on. Welcome, Windows 10.

I received the product but they failed to include a product activation key. I ended up taking it to Geek squad and they got the key and installed the product. It works fine but it is not transferable to a different PC. If this PC dies I am left with nothing.

This is technically an OEM disc, but online Microsoft product registration was straightforward. Installation was trouble-free, and having the disc available for a reinstall is a worry-easer.
