||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you pc if for everything else I would recommend a linux distro. Watching YouTube, emails and surfing the net Linux is easy enough to handle those easy task. Now if you want to also play the latest gaming titles WIN 10 is a most. No work around it.

Corrupted USB install
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use Linux but built a new PC for a family member. Had installation issues and through process of elimination, the Windows 10 install was missing files and corrupted. I had to go to a store and buy a USB. Then ise my wife's Win7 and create an install USB, which worked flawlessly. Terrible to pay $$$ for an overpriced operating system that comes on a corrupted USB install.

Good Operating System
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to hate Windows 10 when it first came out. I tried the free upgrade version on and off when it was available. But when it started letting me make changes to it, so it would be more like Windows 7, my opinion started changing. I purchased Windows 10 Home recently for a new Ryzen 7 build I did and naturally with a powerful computer like this Windows 10 runs flawless. On older PC's or laptops, it runs better or at least as good as Linux OS installations. It seems that after you get all the hardware drivers updated and all the Windows Updates installed, it gets better and better. Windows 10 is probably the best Operating System available today. A little pricey, but a very good OS. Just remember if you buy the OEM version and you install it on a laptop, when that hardware ages or it fails, you can't transfer that Windows 10 license. On a desktop your OK, unless you change more than one part. That's why I bought this version, so I don't have to worry about this for quite some time.

The Terror of Windows 10
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After trembling in fear each time a friend mentioned moving up to Windows 10, I experienced a Hard Drive crash and since I did not have the original CDs for Win 7, I opted to have Best Buy install a new version of Windows 10. I have been using it now for about a month and for the life of me, have found nothing bad about it so far. I admit I am using a 'Windows 10 For Beginners' book but have not had to reference it, except to remove the apps that I did not want on the program. If any of you have the same terror that I did about Windows 10, let all of that go. It's there in the background, helping when you want it to. I'm happy I begrudgingly made the transition.

Windows 10 Home
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Flawless installation onto my very fast EVO 970 PRO NVme SSD. I want to say that my installation took about 12 minutes tops. Windows 10 is the answer to the previously released Windows 8/8.1:) I have only been happy with the latest builds and updates of Windows 10. Things are very easy to find, more Cortana automation (if you like AI and automated help) perfect for gamers, designers and ideal for music and video editing. You will enjoy Windows 10

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace my hard drive on my computer but I needed a Operating System. I choose Windows 10 Home Edition. So I purchased a new hard drive and a copy of Windows 10. I installed the hard drive and plugged in the Windows 10 flash drive. Turned on my computer and in a few minutes I had it up and running. No problems so far and eveything is working just wonderfully.

Easy And Quick Installation
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never used a USB before with installing a Windows OS but the speed of which this was done via this USB 3 flash drive makes it impressively good...even better when installing to an M.2 drive. Check your motherboard BIOS and ensure that, upon an initial build, your boot priority is set to the appropriate USB category...my MSI B450 Tomahawk took a bit of guessing to find the right one since it had multiple USB entries. Got the one it needed...on the third try. :-)

To replace Win7
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to go with a new SSD drive to refurbish my old Win7 computer purchased back in 2011. And it did the trick! The online upgrade didn't work as it locked me out of Administrator access and after 3 days of troubleshooting, I restored the PC back to Win7. This fresh install worked without a hitch and had all of the drivers I needed to get up and running quickly. The PC is now working as if it is brand new and I couldn't be happier.

Worked Great Upgrading from Vista
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had Windows Vista on an old laptop that still works great but wasn't allowing Chrome to run programs due to compatibility issues. I had read from other internet reviews that the upgrade may not work, but decided to attempt it anyway. I'm glad I did because all my programs transferred over and it runs much better. Very satisfied, just wish it was cheaper.

UPGRADE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had upgraded a computer and its hardware. The last step was the operating system. I moved all of my files to an external drive. Wiped the computer and installed windows 10. recognized the upgrades right away and not one issue. Combined with a new SSD it runs fast and better than new.

Best Windows OS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Always heard good reviews of Windows 10. The last Windows OS I used was Windows 7. I also came from Mac OSX when I didnt have my PC. This version of Windows is exactly what Microsoft needed. Performance is off the charts and have had no issues whatsoever.

Windows 10 Blue Box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I won't go into detail about windows 10. You can find far more comprehensive reviews from far more qualified individuals elsewhere so I'll speak to the box. What you get is a flashdrive with Windows 10, a quick how-to, and a product key. This is the full retail version which means you can transfer it between computers / motherboards as needed (one at a time obviously). The version on the USB stick will need updates downloaded and may take a bit longer to install fully than making your own windows 10 stick but it can save you the cash of buying another USB while having a fully legit Windows 10 copy. I bought mine in store

Look carefully -- you might miss it
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There isn't much point in reviewing Windows 10. It's better than what came before, by a lot, and you need it for touch screens -- but if you're a die-hard Windows 7 user, you aren't going to listen to me anyway.... So, just a few notes. First, the boxes on display do not contain the USB stick. They're demo boxes. Be sure to get the real thing before you get to the checkout line -- it will save you a lot of time. Second, it's a TINY USB stick -- smallest I can remember seeing. Too small for comfort. Be careful with it -- it once slipped out of my hands and I was afraid I'd lost or broken it. Third, the sticks do not come with the current version of Windows 10 (although it's not the first release version, either). Before installing, be sure you have good Internet access and a lot of time. And know your transfer limits. All that said, if you haven't upgraded yet, it really is worth doing.

Super easy to install
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was doing an upgrade from Windows 8.1. The computer had the free upgrade, but one day hiccupped and reverted back to window 8. The free windows 10 upgrade was no longer available. So I purchased windows 10 and it breezed through the install. What was interesting, was the fact that it didn't ask for the product code. I assume it used the computer's original one, that was used for the free upgrade. So I have windows 10 installed on one computer and have the ability to install it on another, if it needs s product code, i.e. older Vista needing upgrade.

Updated old computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had an old computer that was planning on giving to my nephew for his birthday. It had crashed a while back and ended up needing a new hard drive. With the new hard drive, it would not connect to the internet and I couldn't figure out why. It was easier for me to get a new computer than to deal with that "mess" at the time. My nephews birthday was coming up and he is at the age and grade in school where they are going to be using computers more and more so I updated it with Windows 10 from Windows 7 and gave it to my nephew. He was stoked! I'm sure right now he is only playing games on it but the hard drive should last him a good long time and with Windows 10 the possibilities are endless.

Basic OS for Windows
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This purchased OS of Windows Home is a lot easier than trying to get it from Microsoft. Besides the certificate of license that is required to register your computer, it comes with a bootable USB drive for ease of recovery. I like this better than getting a DVD copy of the OS since it is compact, convenient, and not subject to breakage like a disc is. The cost is pretty much mandated by Microsoft so there are not typically a lot of wiggle room on the price. Plus this is the HOME version. If you need to login to a local domain, you will have to get the PRO version. The price is cheaper to buy it up front rather than trying to upgrade to PRO after installing the HOME version.
