Initially, I was skeptical about purchasing a USB OS drive but I am extremely pleased with the ease of use. No problems at all installing the software. Everything worked perfectly.

Reason for Purchase: my harddrive died. Bought a new one and because I wasn't smart enough to backup my Windows OS, I had to buy another.
Review: I bought this one instead of the other Windows 10 Pro that you see when you search for it here on BestBuy because this one comes in a USB flash drive rather than a disc/CD. Those things can sometimes fail you. I love that the flash drive says Win 10 Pro on it, that helps. I love that they have a sort of business card in the case that has the product key on it for safe keeping. And that's it for the contents. The installation was easy. After I installed my harddrive, booted, and rebooted after making the adjustment it told me to make on the screen, I then did the F2 or DEL as it is showing the computer model name, and then clicked on the Boot menu and chose WIN 10 Pro and went ahead and booted from there. It went through the install and I followed all the prompts and settings, which was all super easy -you can watch YouTube videos that show you exactly what you're going to see on the screen, which really helps. After I was done with the installation, I clicked on Ctrl-Alt-Del keys at the same time and when the computer logo came back up, I did the F2 again and then chose to boot from my harddrive. After I did that, bam! my computer was resurrected! Easy peasy and yes, this was my first time ever doing this. Would easily buy it again, BUT, I'm going to be smart and back this up just in case.

Well, I burned out the main board of my nearly new MacBook Pro late 2019 that advertised game play ability with its dedicated on board graphics card and 16 gb of RAM. I play World of WarCraft, but this 3200 dollar “PRO” MacBook couldn’t handle it over a 6 month time span of moderate play. Playing this not so stressing game caused 1000 dollars worth or repair damage. JUST SAYIN’!
So I needed a dedicated PC to play my favorite game, and that meant Windows 10. I chose Windows 10 PRO because I wanted the added security of encryption (by the way, if you plan on using Adobe cloud based software, it doesn’t like encryption...at least on my repaired MacBook...just sayin’).
So I am pleased with the Windows 10 pro software. I swore off windows years ago (like Vista age) because it was buggy and cantankerous. That was like...early 2000s. In 2020, Windows 10 is ok. Mac OS is still way more intuitive, BUT...Windows 10 allows for a lot of nuanced adjustments to my newly built Gaming Rig (which I LOVE). The ability to adjust my software perimeters I find interesting and fun to do, and it is not as much of a headache with Windows 10 PRO 2019 as it was with all versions of Window - 95 thru Vista which is when I last used Windows OS.
The Install on my Asus mother board and Samsun 970 Plus M.2 drive was EEEEZY and not a hitch. I have updated windows, and aside from my mouse sometimes not being recognized at boot up, it all works as it ought to (unplugging my mouse and then plugging it back in does the trick...a little bit of a bother, but not worth having a justice warrior melt down over).
I attribute the mouse thing to a software conflict somewhere...its a Corsair saber gaming mouse. I never had this sort of issue with Mac OS, BUT I DID WITH MY VERY LAST PC RUNNING VISTA...so, I’m older now...and the little things can be let go of especially if I get to play WORLD OF WARCRAFT. The problem only occurs at boot up, and it only happens 1/10 times, so...(eh...shrug).
I hope this is helpful.

Windows 10 License with installation files

Typical Windows 10 Pro License you need to install windows on a new build. Comes with a physical USB drive to facilitate the installation process. I recommend downloading the Windows 10 Download Tool directly from Microsoft, as it may require less updates.
This is a retail license, which links to your Microsoft Account. This means you can transfer your license to another system, or transfer your license if you switch out your motherboard.

Bought this copy of Windows 10 Pro to use with a new computer build. I know there are those that advocate going out on the Web to look for cheaper copies of this operating system. I did not want to go that route. I purchased this software, but didn't even use the included USB. I downloaded the software to a USB stick using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool and just used the product key to activate the operating system software (did this to avoid having to do excessive updating after installation). Everything worked fine.
Would be nice if Microsoft made this software cheaper since Bill Gates has already made more money than God off of it, but to each his own.

Best OS ever , in my opinion . Just as expected , usb stick and non-OIM key. Just plug it in and boot up the PC after few min . The best part for me is that i can install on new pc every time i upgrade it to new motherboard , not like OIM . Never had a smallest issue with this OS and you can reset or restore if you mess it up any time , so easy . Best OS ever like i said , plus it comes with unlimited technical support . Once you install you dont even need a copy anymore , just download the tool from Microsoft and use the key or ask for new key . Awesome !

I was having some security issues and felt that upgrading my windows would offer more security features. I believe it does have a few more compared to the xp-windows 10 upgrade. Bitlocker and a few other options were probably enough. Buying the full version was just one step In securing my info. I like it and just as easy to use as the free upgrade or even Home version.

I am a person that upgrades constantly. I got the physical version of Windows 10 Pro because I am tired of having to call Microsoft tech support every time I upgrade or change a computer part. When you do a major change to your system, Windows activation wants you to re-activate Windows because Microsoft servers do not recognize your computer any more. That is a pain for a person that keeps up with the latest hardware. That's why I purchased the physical USB version that has the product activation key with it in the box.

Works as advertised. I gave it a 4 out of 5 due to the price. This isn't Best Buy's fault, it's the going price set by Microsoft. The USB stick is sleek, installation was smooth. Make sure you understand the difference between Win 10 Home and Win 10 Pro and that you are sure Pro is what you want to go with, as Win 10 Pro is necessarily a larger OS in both RAM (not excessively so), but more noticeably on secondary storage.

Product once installed returned my desktop computer back to the operating system I had before my hard drive crashed.
The installation from the USB drive requires accessing the BIOS for my desktop in order to ensure that the boot-up focused on the USB drive.
Wanted a clean installation of Windows since I purchased HOME edition earlier. Buyer beware of the HOME edition--if you need to connect/access other computers, go IMMEDIATELY to the PRO version.
Experienced some unexpected quirks but think some of that may have been related to the updates on the Microsoft website that maintains information about my desktop.
I am back up and running.
I FAIL to understand the need for the HOME version of Windows 10 and feel it is a marketing gimmick. Perhaps many users are happy with the HOME version but it makes no sense to me.
This purchase was an expensive way for me to learn that the hype from Microsoft can be a bit misleading particularly with the lack of functionality in the HOME version compared to the PRO version.
Further the additional cost for the PRO version seems to help justify its marketing of the HOME and the PRO.

Built a new machine, had to get windows. Sure I could run with Linux but would require the rest of the family to learn something new. I had hoped to transfer my previous license but was unable to. The price for this has definitely gone up since the last time I built a rig.

Expensive for what it is. Overall, it is relatively straightforward to install and use. This is the non-OEM version, which allows reinstalling on a different computer if one day the user decides to upgrade to a new PC...
