I've had this controller for 4 months and it looses connection with the xbox every 10 mins. I've done everything possible to fix this according to XBOX but now I've to try to fight to get a replacement.

The headphone jack on the controller is loose and wiggles causing poor connection. I will be returning soon.

      Hi there James,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your headphone jack on the controller. Returning the controller to get a working replacement is the right option in this case. Don't forget that new controllers come with a 90-day warranty as well.

      Regards,
      Chris. Microsoft

We've only had this controller for less than two months and the earphone jack is already loose. Most of our two year old controllers lasted two years before developing problems from wear and tear. This one might be going back for a replacement.

It's a good controller, but mine seems to be refurbished. Seems don't line up smoothly and LB is a little loose. Overall works the way I need

Something was loose and clicking inside of it within few weeks. Not sure if he was being too rough with it or a defect. Had to replace

Original controllers are starting to feel loose and sloppy, this one is stiff and tight, needs about 10-15 hours of playtime to break in and it'll be great. Battery life is good but stick with the many rechargeable options. Cool color combo as well.

My kids (both 15yrs old) and myself (46yrs old) have been through so many xbox one controllers this generation. The sticks constantly have drift after very little use. The vibration motors come loose and the controllers are very loud after that. The 360 controllers lasted much longer.

Better build quality than white version

For some reason the build quality (lack of creaking, gaps btwn parts and flushness btwn parts) is better on the black Xbox one controller than the white controllers. I have had both colors for two months (returned/replaced the white one once) -- used equally and not abused-- and the black one refuses to creak or get loose; the white one is horrible. I wonder if it is possible that the black ABS plastic is more dimensionally stable than the white???? Anyway, I think the black Xbox one controller is a quality product - the white controller -- not so much.

The new controller has different texture than the original. It is more tactile and grip is better. Buttons are stiff but I'm sure as I play more it'll loosen up. No problems so far. Fun to have

I purchased this controller about a month ago since my old Xbox controller was wearing out after 2 years. Within the first couple of weeks of using this controller it has already broken on me. The bumpers are no longer responsive and one of the triggers has come loose. Note that I use this controller moderately with care just from standard gaming use it has broken. I'm not sure if I just got a bad batch of controllers since I've never gotten a product this unreliable from the store. I've tried to contact customer support for a replacement but they haven't been much help. Unfortunately I need a new controller and I'm skeptical of buying from here again because of the customer support with their products.

    Worst controller ever

I play a lot of Madden, probably a couple hours a day on average, and since last September I've went through around 10 of these controllers, all brand new. The recurring issue is the left joystick! After a couple of weeks moving right doesn't work, there's something that breaks or gets loose and prevents my guy from running to the right. I've taken the controllers apart to try and fix it but zero luck. I feel like a total scumbag bringing them back every two weeks to get a new one but I've to if I want to play, and I'm afraid of this happening to an elite controller if I spend the almost 200 on it. Very much considering switching to a ps4 controller with an adapter or buying a ps4 pro and selling my Xbox. I can't believe that this is this much of a constant problem. If you do buy this controller make sure you get the warranty!!!

One of the buttons became unresponsive.

Today, one of the buttons suddenly stopped working and button presses stopped registering at all for this particular button. Unfortunately, Microsoft's Xbox accessories only have a 90 day warranty period from the date of purchase, I was pretty shocked to see such a small warranty period for an official Xbox controller. I figured I was okay because I bought the controller not TOO long ago. I looked up when I purchased the controller and counted the days... I bought this controller 101 days ago at the time of writing. Even if the controller was still under warranty, I would have to dock 2-3 stars from this product. I found the construction to be rather cheap, the A/B/X/Y buttons feel rather loose, the triggers feel flimsy, and the D-Pad is even worse than the Xbox 360 controller. The fact that the warranty is only 90 days is near criminal. And the fact that one of the buttons broke in a little over 3 months is just laughable. I know this is only the base version of the xbox controller, but it's still a $50 controller and should have a bit better quality control and a bit longer warranty period.
