I've used to only a few times. Something I noticed is at times their is lag between your Surface Pro and the screen. Used it twice for a presentation at work. Worked like a charm the first time around but not the second. Biggest issue was its failure to connect. I reset everything involved and still couldn't get it to work. I see a lot of promise in this technology but it has some minor bugs to fix before it's perfect. For a reliable connection I would still do a hard wire configuration. Got room for a little error then the freedom of no wires is a big plus.

Setup was immediate. Plugged into my TV and my Windows 10 Surface Pro found it immediately. Works as advertised, although the range could be better. At 20 or so feet away from the TV, HD video begins to drop some frames and gets intermittently choppy. However, this may be the hardware or just a Miracast platform limitation
I generally use Chromecast to stream videos but this fits the bill where Chromecast doesn't support or has performance issues (casting HD video from Chrome for Windows, or casting the desktop from Windows).

Get one of these BEFORE you need it! This is one of those MUST HAVE gadgets you should always have with your Surface Pro 3. I learned this the hard way when called on in a business meeting to do an ad hoc demonstration but had no way to project in a way that would add value without arranging the room. Since that time I picked up one of these gizmos and can now display wirelessly whenever I want... Even at home I get a ton of use out of this by streaming content to my TV that is not available through my Roku box. Easy to set up and the quality is as good as you could hope for from this type of technology. It is not a matter of IF but rather WHEN you will need this!

Works well as a miracast and wireless display adapter for the Surface Pro 3, but the connection drops fairly often which is annoying.

The Wireless Display Adapter was easy to set up (virtually plug and play), and worked well, until it got too warm, and shut off; so anything over 2 hours could be an issue.

Microsoft has the potential to have a great product here.
Works well with multiple Surface Pro 3s in the office but doesn't work well with most anything else (at least consistently).
The adapter itself is easy to setup and configure but trying to get a W8.1 laptop to see it and connect is a whole other bag of worms.
Hate to say it but I wish it would work the same and as consistently as AirPlay does.
I'm sure with firmware/software updates it will get better but for now it really isn't worth it for the price.

I love my display adapter. I take it everywhere and I'm always letting people know how easy it is. I'm a student so I watch my PowerPoint presentations on the TV and write my assignments on screen from my Surface. I know longer have to transfer files to someone when I'm in class because I can hook it into the smartboard at school. So convienant.

Simple to connect to HDMI & USB on my Samsung TV. Connecting my laptop using WIDI very easy using on screen instructions. Had it working within 5 minutes after taking the display adapter out of it's box. Picture is very good with no noticeable lag watching a movie.

Bought this on deal of the day promotion in early Dec. I wasn't sure if this would work with my Toshiba LCD TV because it did not have a USB port on the TV , but I was able to use the USB port on a tablet as the power source and then connect the display adapter HDMI connector to the TV. Works great. No hesitation or delay noticeable when I cast from my Toshiba laptop running Win 8.1. Would have rated as 5 stars if it had been powered independently, but that is probably a result of using it with an older TV model, and it was probably designed for use with newer TVs.

This device is incredibly easy to setup, but depending on the speed/bandwidth of your network you may experience annoying delays in audio or video signal. The delays aren't bad enough or annoying enough for me to give the device back, but I wish it was better at streaming media. For use as a screen duplicate or extender, it is amazing and will be sure to enhance your productivity...

I've used this to watch Hulu, Netflix, and just share photos on my Samsung LED TV. It works great once it is connected. It seems that it loses the connection with my Surface every other time I use it. Maybe that is a Windows 8 problem though. MSFT is supposed to dramatically improve the reliability and performance of Miracast streaming in Windows 10. I haven't tried it with a Windows Phone or Android device yet. It is supposed to support those. Miracast uses wireless. I'm using a Apple Airport Extreme AC router that supports both 2.4 and 5 ghz 802.11n.

If you have a Google devise and you can download Chrome, you can use Comcast to mirror your cheap tablet to your TV. But If you have a strip down Microsoft devise you will need this gadget to cast your MS device. Geek Squad could not figure out a solution so we went and talked to a salesman and he took us right to it. Problem solved. Had I known how incompatible my MS tablet is with everything I own and use I probably would not have bought it. So it was nice to find an inexpensive fix that works well and is easy to set up.

The device worked well out of the box with my Windows 8.1 PC and Samsung tablet. I have a Chromecast as well but the video quality with this device is better with no noticeable jitter. I also use it for powerpoint presentations. As long as you have a HDMI and USB port on the display you will be good to go.

Being able to move around the conference room was the main reason why I purchased the wirelease display adaptor. I purchased it a little over a month ago, and have used it several times. It is very easy to connect to and works on any tv or projector with hdmi inpiuts. It far meets my expectations!
