Does not work well for video
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the adapter hoping to project a screen from my Lenovo Yoga 900 (running Windows 10) to an older 50" plasma TV while playing video using Windows Media player. * After some struggle, I was able to connect, but connection was not stable. * I was able to extend my laptop screen to the TV. However, video on the TV was jerky and sound was lagging. I blame it on the adapter since the laptop has a 2.50 GHz Core i7 Processor, which should be sufficient to cast video.

Works AWESOME
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally works like how miracast should work. I use it with my surface pro but also used it with a dell venue 8 pro and it works awesome. Just have to make sure you update your windows tablet and the adapter. After that it works great projecting it to my LG tv. I use it with my slingbox to watch tv and its just like I have cable on my tv. I have no lagging issues or anything as of yet. Whenever I have projection issues I restart my tablet and then it goes away. I notice no or barely any lag on video. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs to use miracast. Works on my android phone as well. I tried other miracast adapters but this works the best with video.

Great WiDi Adapter...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the fact that it works on multiple platforms, and is not limited to just one type of system. As long as you have Windows 8.1 and android 4.2 or higher (Miracast) you are all good to go. I love that it eliminates the need of an physical HDMI cord to be plugged in from the device (host) to the tv. No need for internet... whatever is on your device can be broadcast to whatever device you like!

Works exactly as described!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've tried Roku, Chromecast, and Netgear Push2TV without success (well, the P2TV was an older model that no longer worked with Windows 8.1). All I was looking to do is display exactly what was on my laptop on the HDTV, mainly embedded Flash videos from HGTV.com, ABC.com, etc.with sound and video. I didn't want to subscribe to Hulu Plus or Netflix (which was required with the other devices). Chromecast will show a website on the TV, but no sound and video. With the Microsoft Adapter, there's no app to download, it just freakin' displays what is on the laptop's screen. One tip: I've found if the laptop goes into hibernation or sleep, you may need to reboot it to connect to the MWDA.

too many issues on widows PC, works for Android :)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So its sad to see Microsoft just not get it after all these years...Google got it, Apple got it, perhaps even amazon got it with their respective competing product. You plug in and it should just work right? The problem is Microsoft advertised that this works for Windows 8.1, so I tried running this with yoga, and it did not connect. Funnily it worked perfectly with my Samsung Note 3...there you go MS, you a re really in love with your competition, more than yourself! Anyways I spent few hours debugging this, then on call with MS for1 hour..no hope. Finally I got a break through when I updated the realtek driver on my yoga. It worked after that, but it disconnects randomly with driver error...MS should not have this technology depend on drivers and subpar wifi adapter makers...after all, ALL android phones and iphones work seamlessly with chromecast right? Im guessing MS just cant do that on messy PC platforms, they should restrict this thing to their surface.....returning this...now I don't have a way to beam stuff up from my windows laptop to TVs....buying a MAC! Luckily I do own an Apple TV :)

Works great adding a monitor to my Surface Pro.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Surface Pro with a docking station. The docking station allows me to add one external monitor, this adapter allows me to add another one. The only issue that I have is that the connection to the Surface is a little loose so if I unintentionally hit the wires, everything goes blank and then comes right back up. This may be a problem with the Surface Pro and not with the adapter itself. I love being able to have to external monitors hooked up.

Works great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to connect my Windows 10 Surface Book to my Samsung 65" TV. Works great, I was able to connect and start using my TV as a monitor with no problems. Tested streaming netflix, hulu, and plex. All worked great as well. Next test will be to download steam and see how well it handles streaming games. Just a side note but your computer has to be Windows 8.1 or higher to use this product.

Works as Advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just picked this up at the local Best Buy. I plugged it in and it worked perfectly with my Surface Pro 1(SP1), Once I plugged it in to my tv, on my SP1 went to the charms bar >devices>project> add wireless display> and then I was sent to a add devices screen where the "Microsoft Wireless Adapter" was listed in a dialogue box. I clicked on it and within a minute my SP1's screen was mirrored onto the tv. I don't believe the whole set up took more than 5 minutes. There is a second or so lag. This is not for game playing. I tried out Netflix and it was just fine. Did a quick powerpoint and it was fine. I will update in the future.

Perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is recommended for anyone who has a Surface Pro 3. This thing is smooth as butter. It's especially great for when I want to leave notes on a projector with OneNote. Another cool feature is that this will actually not only mirror from your Surface, but it will also give you an option to use your display as a 2nd monitor/extended desktop!! Pretty phenomenal. Microsoft has been on a role lately

In Theory Great, In Reality, Not
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am the computer guru for my family and friends. Always love new products, especially when they advertise easy and quick. Plugged it in and was able to pair with my Win 8.1 laptop but after that, could not screen mirror. Every time it connected, it immediately disconnected. Worked for hours on the firewall, system settings, with Microsoft and eventually returned it. Their 3 step process would not work. Their tutorials and help sections did not help. Their tech people offer a $99 fee based tech support contract. It just doesn't work on some laptops. Good luck guessing which. Have found lots of discussion on line but no solutions.

Possible Solution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was disappointed to find out it does not work well or play nice with Samsung devices. Was able to use ASUS Android Tablet and ASUS Windows 2-in-1 on Windows 10. Nexus 5 didn't work, but forgot that is the limitation with the Nexus 5 itself. Mixed success with the two devices that did work though. ASUS Table seemed to work better. The Windows 10 device was pretty laggy. Also, each time the device connected, I had to switch inputs on the tv and then go back to the Wireless Display input. Not sure why it was not refreshing itself to show the connection. It worked every time though once I did this, but it was pretty annoying that Display Adapter wouldn't refresh its screen output. Caught it on the Deal of the Day, so gave it shot, but it's going back. I am used to Roku Player casting, which works great. but looking for a device that doesn't need internet or local network to cast.

Does not work on cheap tvs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This works perfectly on Vizio, LG, and Panasonic TV but does not work with Emerson or Element TVs. It just says connected then the TV goes to a blank screen. Maybe 1 out of 10 tries, it actually does connect and mirror my surface on the TV. The roku and blu ray player works fine so its not the hdmi port that's bad. Not sure what the problem is.

Good, but not the best.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Connection is easy, but it may be getting hot, it disconnects often and you have to stop what you are doing and re-connect;(like in the middle of a movie). Maybe its a bug that needs firmware update or hardware problem.

Excellent travel accessory
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect for when you need to display your Windows 10 laptop screen on a nearby TV monitor for a presentation or watching movies. Works with little or no setup, just make sure your TV monitor has an accessible HDMI port for video and USB port for power.
