I plugged this wireless receiver video adapter into the MDMI port on my ceiling mounted projector. This adapter needs to plug into a USB port for power, and my projector did not have a USB port, so I plugged an AC adapter with a USB port into the nearby ceiling duplex outlet that was also being used to power the projector, connected a short (about two foot) USB extension cable, and then connected this cable to the wireless receiver video adapter’s USB power cable. Using my new Windows 10, HP Spectre x360 - 13-4105dx (ENERGY STAR) Product number: N1R86UA#ABA laptop, I swiped in from the upper right to get the Action Center, touched Connect, and several seconds later it found the MicrosoftDisplayAdapter_D2 wireless video adapter. I touched once more to connect to it, and several seconds later my laptop display was being wirelessly mirrored through the projector. Now, a few seconds after entering my classroom, my students are seeing whatever I am seeing on my laptop display. I can sit or walk around anywhere in my classroom, and even be playing a video, and my students see and hear everything clearly. This process is so fast and works so well it is truly amazing.

Wasn't sure if it would be worth it vs chrome cast but it clearly fits a niche for windows 8.1 devices and is very simple to setup and add the remote displays.

Tested with Syrface pro 3, Dell Venue Pro 8, Necus 7 (2013), Gallaxy Note 4. Worked with all. Disconnected very occasionally spontaneously. Minus 1 star.

This display adapter works great with the Surface Pro 3. I used it with some other machines, and it didn't work nearly as well. The Surface Pro 3 needed a driver update to recognize the display adapter, but once I did that, it works like a dream. Fast enough to watch movies on and play simple games that display on the Telly.

It works great for my Windows 8.x systems and my Note 3 Android 4.4. I gave it four stars because it doesn't work with Windows 7 and older Android devices.

Easy to use and hook up. I bought this item to hook up to my new surface book so I can display the image on a larger TV screen while I'm working out

The Microsoft Wireless Display adapter is the perfect accessory for a Microsoft Surface Pro 3. It is a plug and play device. It plugs right in to my Smart TV and displays whatever is on my SP3. I love it is easy to use and perfect for watching movies or TV from the Internet. We take it on vacation to watch our movies on as well.

Works well when recognized by the Surface Pro 3. Was not able to get it to work when the powered USB port was not on the same device as the HDMI port.

Two thumbs up, this product works very well and better than I anticipated. It connects seamlessly with my samsung phone and other devices to mirror to my big screen TV. You do not need to go through a router connect to this device. I've purchased 3 more to be used on my all my TVs. Well worth the money. I use it everyday.

I would have given us a five star review if it was able to connect to two wireless adapters at one time but otherwise very pleased with the product

Use this to display my Surface Pro 3 screen on an older Samsung LCD TV. It works great, a little lag but not noticeable for what I'm using it for.

I bought this to use on a monitor I had mounted on wall above my office desk. Unfortunately it won't work on most "monitors". It requires a USB port and of all the monitors I've seen none of them had a USB port. I did connect it to my TV and it worked great!! I ended up returning it. Not because it didn't do what it was supposed to do. I just couldn't use it with my monitor. Now if you have a TV rather then a monitor this wireless adapter is for you.

I have a samsung Note 3 anf this works awesome...it gets a bit hot if used for a long time but hey it works just needs a break once in a while :)

Works as billed but on my 1080p HD television, left with black margins on sides. Suspect there is a way to fix it, but haven't found it yet.

I love this wireless adapter. It works for my kids tablets and my Lumia phone. The only complaint that I have is that it drops the signal from my Surface Pro 3. I am not sure if this is an adapter issue or a Surface issue. The video quality is nice.

this is a simple to use and an effective way to watch what you have on your smartphone or tablet or laptop . Its easy to use and works well

I got it for snapping my new projector onto my laptop without having to worry about a multitude of wires. It gets the job done very well.

We wanted to view our Surface Pro 3 on our television. We thought we'd need some special cable to connect but Best Buy showed us this wireless device instead. It works great! We leave it connected to the TV and are able to connect via Bluetooth and watch Internet content on the TV screen. It is easy to use!

Great ability to stream movies to tv. Does cut in and out occasionally then you have to reconnect

using with surface and lg 24" monitor . I see little lag on my lg monitor . Also display is not that sharp . Some times it's not connecting .
