    Good entry level wireless keyboard

I used this keyboard and mouse for about a year before replacing it with the 4000 version. The best part that I like about it is the curved design. It is “just ergonomic enough” to take strain off the hands and wrist, but the keys are not spaced out too far or separated like the official ergonomic keyboard, which I personally don’t like. The range is fine. The only complaint is that I find (with my unit) that the sensor needs to be on top of the desk, otherwise the keyboard does not work and the mouse has jagged movements. However, I have it next to the monitor so it is not too obtrusive. There are some elements that cannot go overlooked, though. First, there are no lights for the caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock on the keyboard. They are on the sensor. In addition, a little box comes on the screen when you toggle those keys off or on. Also, there are no additional quick launch keys. Consider the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 4000 instead. It is the same keyboard as the 3000 model, but it has several more quick launch keys. And all the quick launch keys are programmable, even the labeled buttons. The 4000 model is only $20 more but you will be much more satisfied with it, overall.

    Good keyboard

Overall I find this to be a good, reliable keyboard. The keys are responsive and don't miss strokes. It's solidly built and is lightwieght enough that it isn't heavy on my lap when I'm sitting at my desk with my feet up. I haven't had any problems with the range, using it from as far as 8 feet away without a problem. The battery life is long, I've owned the k/b about 8 months and have only replaced them once. It has the usual pre-programmed function keys that allow a certain ease of navigation but I wish I could re-program them to my liking - it could be that they are but that I am just not computer savvy enought o figure it out. I can't comment on the mouse. I bought this to replace a dead M/S 6000 k/b that had a 5 button mouse. This comes with a 3 button mouse and I had come to like additional 2 buttons so I continued to use that one.

    Absolute piece of grabage

Absolute garbage. The batteries it came with seemed almost dead. Replaced them and found out that it wasn't the batteries but the hardware itself. The mouse was shotty and skipped around the screen alot. The keyboard worked about 10% of the time. Didn't even return it. I took the pleasure in destroying the keyboard and mouse because of my frustration. Maybe I am to blame since I chose the cheapest keyboard/mouse combination, but I would expect SOME functionality. I would go so far as to tell Best Buy to take this off their shelves and not ruin their reputation. Buyer beware!

Fine at First, then Enter key broke

In all of my years of using computers, I've never had a keyboard that actually had keys that broke. After a few months of working fine, the keys would occasionally not work. I thought it might be wireless connectivity issues so I moved the keyboard into direct line of sight and it still occasionally had problems. What made it worse was when the Enter key actually broke off the keyboard and rendered the keyboard virtually useless.

Beautiful, light weight, great shape, the design is wonderful, the keyboard is soft to the touch, quiet, extremely easy to set up and to use. The mouse is great, beautiful design, it molds to your hand very nice, very easy to use. I am so happy, with my new keyboard and mouse. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
