I've always had Logitech mouses, i went to buy another Logitech when my girlfriend saw this Microsoft Mouse with cool design and same price, so i decided to give it a try....what could go wrong with that it's just a mouse, right???? It's just a mouse but........this is my sincerely review. This mouse is really cool, the design, size, the way it scroll up and down on the internet or any folder but............you know when you are looking to your pictures and you want to give a little zoom or just zoom on it??? FORGET IT you have to scroll up and down very very fast and still wont go the way you want and you must be an Ogre to use the zoom. I bought one and my girlfriend bought another one, when we get home, i thought mine came with problem and i started use hers and i realized it's the mouse. DON'T BUY THIS MOUSE, look for another one or go for logitech they work much better. READ THE REVIEWS FROM OTHER USERS ON DIFFERENT COLOURS...THEY ALL SAY THIS MOUSE DIES AFTER 2 WEEKS OR 2 MONTHS, SHAME ON MICROSOFT.

Previously, I had used a Microsoft IntelliMouse (optical, wired), which I absolutely loved. It had worn out, so I decided to go buy a new mouse. Naturally, BB doesn't carry that one anymore. So I was looking for something similar; I don't need a big clunky gaming mouse, so that knocked out most of my choices right from the start. Looks like everything is going wireless these days, so I decided to buy this one, which is my very first wireless mouse. Now, I don't know whether it's the wireless part that's the problem, or it's the new "blue laser" technology, but the movement of the the arrow on-screen is very jumpy. Jumpy to the point that it's frustrating. And I do a lot of work in PhotoShop, which makes it even more frustrating. Package states it works on most surfaces; well, it does NOT work well on the metal mousepad I was using with my IntelliMouse, nor the surface of my computer desk (which also was not a problem with my previous mouse). I'll have to assume the blue laser is the probelem, because I never had a problem with the red one. I'll be looking to replace this. I also find it's shape to be very uncomfortable for my hand; maybe there's a reason why this was the only mouse BB did NOT have out on display...

I bought this without doing a lot of research - my mouse had died, and I had the time to stop at Best Buy after work. It was on sale, and it seemed like it would be serviceable. Got home, followed the installation instructions, and tried to use the mouse. It didn't work. Tried it again (after I restarted my PC), and it finally worked - but it was so jittery I couldn't use it. I thought maybe there was too much interference, since I plugged the USB receiver into the back of my machine, so I put it into the front one and restarted. That helped a little bit for about five minutes, and then the quality declined again. I updated the drivers, kept restarting my PC, and it just didn't work. Even tried fresh batteries from my stash. No dice. Maybe I just had a faulty one, because the Logitech one I exchanged this for works like a dream. If you do take a chance on it, it's a bit on the small side - it would work well as a portable mouse. Didn't bother me much, but it might be a deterrent to some.

    Great Mouse....for the first week

This device was awesome at first, the one day out of the blue (each one did the same) I get a messages stating the USB device malfunctioned. I took the USB unit out of my laptop and it was so hot it almost burnt my hand. I tested several other devices in the same USB port and did not get the same results. I tried other USB ports with this mouse and it always overheats. I thought at first I got a bad mouse, returned and got another. 2 weeks later....same result. Thought maybe it was something I was doing. Bought a 3rd, made sure to take it out of each use...etc. Same result. Started researching and others are seeing the same thing. If it worked without malfunctioning, this would absolutely be the best wireless mouse I've ever owned, hence trying 3 of them...lol!

Cute Mouse but Extremely Terrible Transceiver Life

    Posted
    NikkiG

I purchased this mouse for my Dell Inspiron laptop last year in the spring less than 6 months later, the transceiver overheated and failed to be recognized. I called microsoft since this mouse comes with a 3 year warranty, they sent me out another one in pink same thing, overheated in even less time than the first one. I am now debating ordering another one since it does indeed have a 3 year warranty but i'm also considering purchasing a logitech wireless mouse. This mouse sucks in a nutshell. The best part about it is that it's easy to use, great on battery life, and has great accuracy when it's working but the transceiver life is very short and I have heard and read this in multiple reviews so I know it's something with this product. So beware!

    Great mouse, horrible transceiver

    Posted
    BetterProduct

The mouse itself is excellent. It fits my hand just fine, the buttons are easy to push but not too sensitive, and its easily programmable if you want to change the functions. The transceiver, on the other hand, is quick to burn out. Mine burnt out in two weeks. After a bit of searching on the internet, it appears that this is a common problem, although it is unknown if this is a problem with just the nano receiver for this model or all MS nano receivers. I'd avoid buying this in general until the issue is fixed.

Had 2...Do not work after 2 months

I've now had 2 of these and both of them stopped working within 2 months. I wouldn't waste the money on this product. Initially I thought that I just received a lemon...but once the 2nd one stopped working (the link to the bluetooth no longer worked on them both) I decided to get the more expensive Logitech M325. I've had no trouble with the Logitech. The Microsoft mouse is the first product from Microsoft that I've had problems with...but I would NOT recommend this to anyone. It is designed beautifully, it fits great, it is pretty...but it STOPS working within 2 months....Not worth the money.

Worst Mouse I Have Ever Owned!

    Posted
    TigerTech

I have owned my mouse for about 4 months... and now i use it as a paperweight. I had it for 2 months and the nano receiver started to overheat and my laptop would not recognize it, so i pulled it out, and it burnt my fingers. I called Microsoft over 5 times trying to get a replacement and it ended up taking over a month to get a new one. Less than 20 days later i had the same problem. I called them back and they upgraded me to a Microsoft Mobile Mouse 6000.

    Not For Desktop PC

This mouse may work on a laptop, but I tried it on a desktop with every USB port in use. The cursor becomes erratic every time the hard drive runs which is a lot for me. I am using several radio communication programs, some requiring USB serial port adapters. I could not find the correct USB port to plug the mouse receiver into where it would work with the other USB hardware running. Very frustrating. This mouse may work well on a PC with no other devices using USB ports.

    Early death

Love it at first - cute color, wireless ease. I didn't even have to install the software; it just started working. Then after a few months, it just stopped. Got an error message about a hardware malfunction, tried troubleshooting, installed the software, called tech support, no dice. My coworker got the same mouse at the same time, and hers up and died as well. This really sucks.

I was in a bind and needed a mouse really quick. I should have just waited and looked around at other options. The mouse sort of works, but has a bit of interference with other wireless devices. I got another mouse promptly after this one failed me so many times in our short time together.

    this product has engineering flaw

I have a logitech wireless mouse and bought this microsoft mouse recently. I found that this new mouse has serious lag when something is between my laptop and my mouse. When I remove the obstacle it works fine. But when I use my logitech mouse with the same obstacle it works perfect. I think Microsoft needs to work out a better reception for the mouse.

The transceiver over-heated and the mouse stopped working within 2 weeks. The middle roller button does not paste. Had to move that function to the side button. When I attempted to return this product to the store, customer service would not return it because it had been 31 days (1 day over the return policy). Very disheartened with Best Buy in general.

AVOID! Read Reviews for the 4000 Color Versions

Purchased on March 18, stopped working on March 22nd. The USB transciever is notorious for going South. Many Best Buy user reviews on the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 (Review other colors) will attest to the transciever failure rate. Be warned. Other than that, I enjoyed using this mouse for the three days it was operational.

I'm a woman and this mouse is too small for my hand. The "back" button is located too much toward the front of the mouse so that I have to lift my hand off the mouse in order to use it so I wind up just clicking the "back" arrow on my browser. After 2 weeks of use, I had to replace the battery. Unsatisfactory all around.

Bought this mouse to replace one that failed, same model, after almost a month it started to act up and disconnect, tested it by using a older Logitech mouse and confirmed the MS mouse is buggy, returning if I can for a Logitech one

The scroll function is very poor. No resistance at all so just putting your finger on the wheel often makes it scroll the wrong way. Also inconsistent on how fast is scrolls depending on the app you are in. I would return, but already thru out the box and receipt.

Do NOT buy this mouse. Read other reviews; mine also stopped working after two months - USB receiver heats up very hot. Do not buy it. Microsoft warranty process seems so hidden on their website, i'll assume that they'll try to ignore a warranty submission. So, in the garbage it goes and I'll buy a Logitech.

To big, I like my mice small, exchanged it for the 3500 -- mobile mouse. which is also ok. I like the original 4 button mobile mouse better, I think its model 1800 because it has 4 way scrolling and a windows button.

.....It didn't work for my application. I have a MS Combination keyboard and mouse and the mouse track/scroll came apart and I thought I could just buy the mouse but it wasn't compatible with the keyboard. So I'm still looking. I had to take mouse back to BB.
