    It's not a multi-tasker

There are some great things about this about this mouse, but it isn't very good at what I need it to do. I bought this for my office computer, where I do a lot of clerical work. The scrolling function is the main reason why I am now looking for a new wireless mouse. You can only scroll on the highlighted screen, so if you are reading information from a list on one screen and typing it into another, you have to constantly click on the screen with the list and scroll down. The software also doesn't offer very helpful options for the buttons. I have had to change the battery twice in the 6 weeks I've had it, but I think I just wasted batteries because the issues were only resolved for a couple of days. There have been times when I spent 90 seconds trying to click a button because whenever I got the curser close to it, it would freeze and then jump 4 inches. I'm not sure if that is an issue with the wireless signal, or the special blue light that is supposed to be great on any surface. However, if you are going to be primarily using this mouse to browse the internet it should work just fine for you. Also if you are going to be taking it various places or using it on different computers, the way the dongle just pops in the bottom is great. Just be careful because mine gets stuck about a third of the time.

Works very well, awful battery life.

This mouse works very well and does exactly what its supposed to do. It has excellent responsiveness and work on almost every surface. The MAJOR downside to this mouse is the battery life. The manufacture claims this mouse will go 10 months on a battery. I have seen others say they get about a month per battery, which wouldn't be that bad but that's just not the case. I use my computer all day for work, school, and entertainment. I use this mouse about 12 hours a day and after only about a month i am on battery #3 and will probably be on #4 very soon. The battery life for this mouse if you actually use it is about a week and a half, so if you plan on using this mouse i recommend either rechargeable batteries or a different mouse.

Great little mouse for the price but short range

The sale price was definitely right on this mouse, but I was hoping for a range of at least 6 feet to meet my needs. No luck in that department. It tracks very well on granite with no mouse pad needed. Straight line of sight distance with no granite in the way or anything is about 3 1/2 to 4 feet tops. Very very poor range. I have another Microsoft mouse, the presentation mouse 8000 bluetooth. It has a much better range, about 30 feet but it tracks horribly on just about any surface. Precision doesn't even enter into the picture with that extremely overpriced paperweight. $90 and it is borderline worthless on any surface and destroys batteries like no tomorrow. This mouse is doing well so far on battery consumption. Just no range.

Worked fine for a couple months and then needed brand new battery. Replaced battery and worked fine for another month when suddenly it became frequently unresponsive. Eventually moved the transmitter from the back of my desktop PC to a front usb port closer to the mouse and that resolved about 97% of the responsiveness issues. Still not as responsive as a nice USB mouse. I have larger hands than average and find the mouse to be uncomfortable to hold because of it's small size....it's made for small hands. Eventually I'll replace this with a quality USB corded mouse but unfortunately those are getting increasingly hard to come by.

    It's okay, but...

I bought this mouse after reading the great reviews. I was excited to try it out with my new laptop, but upon my first time using it now, I am planning to return it. It's super smooth and I love that, but the edges of the top where my fingers glide feels kinda "sharp"... overall design and size is great, but they should have rounded out the edge of the top of the mouse. I don't like the way it feels. I am not usually that particular, but for as often as I use a mouse with my laptop, I'm going to have to try something else. :-(

    Cost Effective Wireless Mouse

Nothing special other than a cost effective wireless mouse. PROS: It is an overall nice mouse, with a small USB wireless plug. It is good for mobile computing and has a couple of basic extra function buttons. CONS: It is a bit on the small side, and I have small hands. The scroll wheel skips forward alot, and can be frustrating when trying to scroll slowlly when reading something. Finally, it is a little too light. For basic computing, it is nice, but I wouldn't use it when one wants precision. I also wouldn't use it for gaming.

Beware of the flimsy scroll wheel

Yes, I bought this mouse for under $10 here, mainly for its low price and it's made by Microsoft. Like I've said, the scroll wheel does NOT "click" with increments when you are using it to scroll up and down web pages. Also, the little "back space" button where you usually rest your thumb on is redundant to me(honestly, more like a stupid idea). I've seen and used better mice before; so this little mouse from Microsoft can go to the trash can anytime when I get a new compact size wireless one.

Batteries wont last more than 10 days of use, I use not more than 3 hours daily If you are buying this , better buy rechargeable batteries along with it Everything else is good, nice rubbery feel while holding light weight and runs on single battery , the LED is blue in color , a bit refreshing compared to red ones removed 2 starts for heavy battery usage , ideally i would have been happy if it lasted 2 months ,even though it was mentioned 10 months

This purchase was a replacement for one of the same model that froze up after a couple of years. I like the size and feel of this mouse, so I got another one, but in all honesty can't give a higher rating to something that doesn't hold up better than this. I would pay more for a more durable version of the same thing.

Feels good, but poor battery life.

Wanted a basic mouse for general use, went cordless just to prevent tangles of cables. The first battery died within two weeks of purchase, leaving it "on" 24/7. After that, I began turning it off when I left my computer; this extended the life past the three week mark (using standard energizer AA batteries) but after a few months of ownership I've still spent more on batteries than I did on the mouse.

This mouse is very smooth and has worked on every household surface I have been able to put it on. However, I wasn’t a fan of the center roller which has no noticeable clicks or rigidity, it just seems to roll free flowing. Also for the price of this mouse I would think they could add an additional button to its side.

This used to be my favorite mouse. Had 4-5 of these over the last couple years. But this new one the mouse wheel was much tighter. It is a great feeling mouse in my hand, but I prefer a easier wheel. If you like easier wheel try the Logitech M325. If a tighter wheel is good for you, this is a nice mouse.

I used to have another microsoft mouse before that I loved some years ago. Unfortunately it stopped working and I didn't remember the model number. This one was well rated, so I purchased it. It's good except that the scroller on top is not easily controlled and so I keep scrolling too high or too low.

This mouse needs from Exterior modifications! Needs a better material with holding the rubber attached to the mouse. Rubber peels off wheel and sides. This mouse is excellent otherwise. I love the functionality of the mouse. The Back button makes it AWESOME! lol

My old MS 6000 wireless mouse started to act up after 7 years of service. This was the only one BB has in stock by MS. It does everything I ask of it so far. The only complaint I have is that I have to turn off the mouse after each use. My old one went into standby mode when not in use.

I WANTED A NEW WIRELESS MOUSE AND THIS ONE WAS A GOOD FIT FOR MY HAND. THERE IS NO CLICK ON THE SCROLL WHEEL AND FREE SCROLLING IS NOT GOOD FOR DOING CAD WORK. ALSO, THE MOUSE SPEED AND POSITIONING WAS VERY JUMPY.

This mouse cost almost $50 and is supposed to be used on three different computers which I have yet to get it to do. Also it kept losing it's signal and I had to shut it off and turn it back on to regain the signal.

I generally like this mouse. However, the side button is easy to accidentally click...which will go back to previous web page. A bit of a pain when it happens...especially if in middle of a game with someone.

The mouse is small, light. Construction feels cheap, but how tough does it have to be? It was instantly recognized by my computer. Buttons and roller work fine, and it tracks fine. Good for the price
