    Great Mouse

This mouse is very good.  It always seems to be found without ever having to install drivers on both my XP and Vista PCs.  It's snap-in receiver for the laptop/PC works great to shut the mouse off when you don't want it using battery power.  The battery (AA) lasts a long time even when heavily used.  I bought this mouse months ago and am only on the second battery.  Its optical detection is so good you can use this mouse on almost any flat surface.  I've even moved it around while sitting on my pants leg and it still tracks great.  Although I've never had to use it, there is a reset button on both the mouse and receiver.  The scolling wheel has a clicking feel to it so you can have pretty precise control.  The only reasons I didn't give this mouse 5 stars instead of 4 was because it is a little smaller than most mice and doesn't fit as well in my hand as past MS mice I've owned.  Also when you snap the receiver into the mouse to turn it off, the receiver is not flat with the mouse base and it no longer sits flat.  Still, a great wireless mouse at a good price!

Not too small, not too large, just right

I find this mouse to be very comfortable to use. It fits right in my hand...given I am female and have fairly small hands so this would not probable be the case for you fellas. Larger mouse are hard for me to control and are very uncomfortable. I have even used smaller mouse and it is the same on top of buttons being so tiny. The rubberized grips on the sides are not cushy but surprisingly add a lot of comfort. Besides the line of sight and a distance of a keyboard and a half for the mouse to work properly, it stays connected and is very accurate on movement. The scroll wheel is very sensitive to the touch and I will sometimes find myself scrolling through a page. As with all laser mouse the slightest reflective surface prevents the mouse from work and the laser will blink to indicate a problem with detection. Finally, unlike some mouse the battery is really easy to change. It takes one AA battery and there is a button you push that pops the tops of and just slide the battery into place, instead of fiddling with sliding pieces.

I just bought my 4th copy of this mouse. I have two desktops at home and have a black and blue version side-by-side to control the two computers - they work great. The third is on my work laptop and I just bought a 4th (green) for my new home laptop. I used to think big hands needed a big mouse, but this little guy changed my mind on that. It's got a great feel, good battery life, and a good price. I've never had any issues with any of them. I'm a freak for precise mouse control - I do computer aided design work, photo editing, and professional audio work - all of these applications require precision cursor control. I can have the cursor speed set to fast and still get great control when needed. I don't know how long I've my oldest copy - a couple years I think. The rubber grips are starting to show wear on the sides - the rubber is getting soft and starting to separate from the plastic. I'll have to keep my eyes out for a good sale price and pickup a replacement someday.

This mouse is wonderful! I cannot stand using the touch pad on a laptop, so I use these mice. We own 3 of these, one for each laptop in the house. And I'm going to purchase another one for my desktop to eliminate the wire. I also purchased one of these for my wife's parents to use with the laptop they just bought. Instalation and use could not be easier. Battery life is AWESOME! The oldest one we own lasted a year and a half! The only downfall I've encountered is that when running Windows Vista, the screensaver will not activate while the mouse is connected. So it needs to be unplugged in order for the screensaver to activte. Two of our laptops are running XP, and the screensaver activates fine. Mouse is very responsive, and fits our hands perfectly. Great product for little money. You can catch it on sale for $19.99 at times.

    Microsoft Ruins Christmas

    Posted

I bought this mouse for a Windows Vista notebook. The first two times I used it, it worked beautifully. The third time, it simply didn't work and never worked again. The sad thing was that it decided to not work on Christmas morning when my kids received the notebook. I rebooted multiple times, press every reset button in every combination I could think of, tried plugging it in both before and after booting, but nothing would bring this thing back. The green light was on and the battery was charged (I even changed it once to be sure). But the mouse and computer were no longer on speaking terms. I'm taking this mouse back tomorrow and will replace it with Logitech or just about anything else that doesn't have the Microsoft logo on it. I know, the problem may be Vista (either way, Microsoft is to blame).

    Nice cheap reliable mouse

I got this mouse for less than $10. I was shopping for a mouse since some time and was looking for a good battery life & easy to hold. Glad I saw this deal and read all reviews. Many ppl said that it has a good battery life and since this was cheap I went for this. Also this takes one battery only & that too was included. The thing that I did not like is that the USB dongle is too long. I have a logitech mouse also and the USB dongle of that is quite small so it is easy on the eyes and easy to store & carry hooked to laptop. In this it sticks out long enough from the laptop and the place where it attaches to the mouse is also weird. Mouse is too curvy to fit naturally in the palm. But for the price I paid and long battery life (as everyone said) I am going to keep using it untill I find something better.

DO NOT buy, horrible compared with my Logitech

I'm using it on my Laptop w/ Win7 and the range is horrible - my purpose was to use it at about 15-20 ft away when my laptop is hooked up to my LCD TV. Didn't even move smoothly when I connected at about 5-8 ft. You have to click connect (on the back of the receiver, annoying to reach under and find the little button) for it to pick up when you first install...none of my other wireless mouse requires that. The receiver is huge, but that was expected. When you stow away the receiver under the mouse, it is NOT flushed so your mouse will sit lopsided - just a minor annoyance. Ended up using my Logitech anyway, defeats the purpose of buying this M$ junk. Not even worth it at $10 on sale - not worth returning either, waste of time all the way around!

    Best Mouse ever!

This mouse was especially worth the money. I travel with my laptop so I needed a small ergonomic mouse and this suits perfectly. It reeds on any surface, couch, shiny table, glass, pants, anything (except mirror- but seriously?). Feels great in the hand, not too big nor too small. Works on Vista, XP, and Mac, unlike some mice I've tried. I use it on my laptop about 6 hours a day sometimes more, and get up to 3 months use without any troubles. It runs off 1 AA battery. Scroll wheel leaves nothing to be desired. If there is one problem it is with the range( about 4 feet from the receiver and within sight distance ). I bought one for myself and my wife and we both love it.

I got this mouse on sale for $9.99. Great bang for the buck at that price. Would be nice if there was an on/off switch though. Since this is a notebook mouse, it is designed to turn on/off when the receiver is snapped into the bottom of the mouse itself. Great for use with a notebook, but not too great with a desktop. I bought a notebook mouse because it is what I am used to, and like the overall size. The computer I am using it with is under a desk and the receiver is plugged into the back of the machine. The mouse probably has an auto off feature, but I just pull the battery before I leave the office to ensure that I don't needlessly decrease its longevity.

    Nice wireless mouse for $10

This is my second Microsoft wireless mouse and a backup for when the inevitable happens and my first one dies. The mouse was easy to set up under both XP and Vista and has worked flawlessly for over 2 years. The battery life is outstanding, and I often use semi-worn AA batteries from other devices (e.g. camera, GPS flashlights, etc.) because the mouse doesn't require a lot of power *and* it seems to use up the last bit of power in these used batteries. My only complaint is that the side cushioning on the left-side of the mouse - where my thumb resides - is wearing down and coming off in layers. It isn't down to bare plastic yet, but I wish there was a way to order and and replace it.

    Worst mouse EVER

Alright, starting with the Cons, since there are no Pros. First off, once you touch the usb with a little force, like a finger, itll get you so mad. Second, batteries last less than a month..... even when i snap the thing back on. Lasted me 2 months and than i tried it again, no.... it DID not WORK. It BREAKS DOWN EASILY. Microsoft is not a brand for mice, heck even keyboards, i suggest you stick with Logistech, at least the ones they make dont break down like this. So what if its cheap? that means it is undependable, and it really is. I do NOT recommend this for anyone. IT IS TOTAL GARBAGE.

A reliable and comfortable budget wireless mouse.

This mouse seems to work well on most surfaces, has a more than wide enough range, and is very comfortable to hold. Being ergonomic makes it much bigger than most travel mice, however; it is about the size of the average desktop mouse. Another minor grip is that the battery rattles inside when the mouse is shaken, but this really has no bearing in on its quality (it is silent in normal use). I love that the wireless node stores away under the mouse, and deactivates the battery. Most importantly, the wireless connection seems much more reliable than other wireless mice of a similar price I have encountered.

    Good Value

I got the mouse for $10 shipped so I really can't complain too much - it's a very good value at that price point. Windows XP had no problems detecting the device and it works just as it should. The ONLY shortcomings that I can find with it are: 1) The scroll button (not the wheel part - that is fine - just the act of depressing the button) is slightly over-sensitive 2) A turn-off switch would be nice. As it is, the only way to turn it off is to put the dongle back into the underside of the mouse I do like the design otherwise - the storage of the dongle is convenient and the mouse feels good in the hand (I can't vouch for lefties however).

I love this mouse and use it several hours a day on my laptop. It feels nice in the hand and works on almost any surface. When it gets too far away or in range of another receiver of the same kind (which can happen in a classroom where everyone has this mouse!) it will start to go a little wonky. The scroll wheel is a little heavy but it still works pretty good. Just recently my right click button has started sticking but i just popped off the cover and cleaned it and now it works fine. I use this mouse up to 15 hours a day working on intensive projects, and I would definitely recommend this.

    Nice Price, kinda jumpy

The price of this mouse was most alluring. But it does have a couple nice features: I like the wireless feature and the usb plug stays in the bottom of the mouse when not in use conserving battery life. It is a handy feature but ultimately the performance of the mouse is what draws me off. The mouse seems to work pretty decent on some surfaces, but other surfaces it will jump around on. With today's optical mice I expect to use the mouse on pretty much any flat surface and have it be smooth movement. This mouse worked well on my couch, but terrible on an end table.

    Easy to Set Up

The mouse, which I got on clearance, is the 3rd mouse of the same brand and type that I have purchased. Simply plug in the USB, wait 20 seconds, and it works. Sometimes you have to reset it which can be annoying but not too terrible. Also, I stated that this is the 3rd one I purchased, which is because the first two randomly stopped working after about a year's worth of usage. It is not so terrible since I use a computer every day so it's worth the 20 dollars, but the one thing I question is its durability. For the price, however, it is still a good deal.

    Middle of the Road device

This mouse came out of the box and was connected automatically in seconds with Vista. It has a nice feel and is simple to use most of the time. However, the scroll wheel is too hard to scroll-- it seems that there is too much resistance to the scroll mechanism. Due to this issue, the OS seems to think that you are clicking the scroll wheel when you are just attempting to scroll the wheel. For the price it is a reasonable buy (it was free with some tax software). If you are a serious web browser and use the scroll wheel constantly, you will hate it.

    Best Wireless Mouse

    Posted
    tbombadil

I have tried several wireless mice and find this one to be the best. It is a no-brainer to connect and maintains the connection seamlessly. The ability to store the USB connector in the mouse base is wonderful. The current version is different than the picture shown; it has a smaller USB connector and is lighter. The use of a single battery and the extended life is great. It would be nice to see the price drop about $10.00, but that isn't essential. This mouse is great for laptops and desktops.

This mouse has been great for the past couple of days we've been using it. I bought two of them when it was on sale for about 25 dollars. They came in quickly, I opened them up for my wife's and my laptops, plugged them in, and started using them within 2 minutes. So far they work great, and I am able to use the mouse on almost any surface, including my couch. So overall, a great buy at this price for a wireless mouse. Thanks Best Buy for making my life alittle easier with your great customer service.

I already had this exact mouse and, after at least four years of heavy use, it is starting act up a bit. It has provided good, solid, service all this time. Getting it on sale for 9.99 with free shipping was an excellent incentive for purchasing this same model again. The newer mice have shorter wireless connectors that go in the USB drive, and I would like that, but for the price and quality, I'm good!
