Do Not Buy XBox Gift Cards From Best Buy

If you buy XBox cards from Best Buy online, they do not come activated. Nobody tells you this and then getting them activated is a nightmare. I gave these to my nephew as a Christmas present, and of course, they did not work. My sister (his mom) called Microsoft who said they weren't activated and that they have had a lot of problems with cards purchased at Best Buy. She then called Best Buy customer service and they said you have to take them to a store to be activated. She took them to the nearest store and 3 people tried to activate them but couldn't. A fourth person explained that you have to do it over the phone but have to call a tech support number, not customer service. They tried for her but couldn't get through. She left and called me. I then had to call the tech support people the next day and after going through the entire menu system and getting a person, I was transferred to the "right" people where I sat on hold for a half hour and then was hung up on. I called back and went through it all again and after another half hour finally got someone who was able to help me. After activation, they worked, but I will never buy from Best Buy again.

Every year we buy my son an Xbox gift card for his birthday. This was the first time, after he received it and was excited to use it, it would not work. When he/ we tried to activate the card through his Xbox console, a message popped up stating that the card was not activated. I wasted a few hours traveling back to Best Buy to get the card "activated", only told told by the representative and finally by the manager that it is showing that they can't activate it because, guess what, it was already activated, according to their "system". They then pass the problem on to Xbox, saying there is NOTHING they could do. After online chat with Xbox representatives and a few emails back and forth of copied of receipts and gift card, we got it fixed, but it took a long time and was very inconvenient. WORD OF ADVICE, MAKE SURE CASHIER IN FACT ACTIVATES THE CARD, ASK TO SEE PROOF, YOU ARE THE CONSUMER.

Bought Open box HP model # 15bw011dx 1 week ago. After some updating, this has turned into a great buy. My use is primarily work related so this one fit the bill. Good processer speed and plenty of local storage. Purchased a protection plan for 1yr for $70 because I am rough on electronics. Total spent was around $300 for a laptop that exceeds my Dell 8500 tower. My first complaint is software... couple of add on programs (bloatware), and I cant actually figure out if I have any form of Office due to a 30day 365 trial. Slightly confusing/frustrating for an average computer user. Nothing a trip to geek squad or a computer store wont easily fix though. Second, I feel that the battery consumption is pretty fast for a current day laptop. 3 to 4hrs max for normal email and document use.

I have 2 boys and they each have been involved in gaming for the last 6 years and over the past two years I have come across many issues with using a credit card for a one time order or a one time start up to get the boys going on their new consoles and every single time they have used the credit card debt number there end up buying much much more than what was authorized so after that had happened to me several times in absolutely decided that no one can use any of the credit card only gift cards for everything they need especially when money is involved. I have not had any problems with my money disappearing out of my checking account without my knowledge and pemissions since we have been purchasing gift cards for the gaming consolesite. I love being able to get the gift card with the amount of money that I expect there to be without any issues and the unwanted surprises.

    Access Code

Product itself was perfectly satisfactory. After all, it was a gift card. It was present to my 11 year old grandson. Best Buy sent two cards to him as requested. Unfortunately when he tried to use them they didn't work. It required an access code to 'turn on the card'. No where in the purchase was this information given. My son and grandson thought the cards had been used. After a three way call from my son and Best Buy to me it was finally resolved. This should have been mentioned sometime during the purchase or in the material sent. I would suggest a code that could be sent under different cover or text to recipient or purchaser. Left a great birthday present with an unfortunate experience.

I don’t purchased many things on my Xbox One. I purchased this Xbox $25 Gift Card for with my Best Buy Visa Card to take advantage of opening a new Best Buy Visa card, that was offering a Best Buy rewards promotional offer. This purchase was a part of another purchase where I needed to make a online purchase of $100 more, not including tax, to qualify for the Best Buy promotional offer. These items needed to be mailed to the house and could not be a store pick up for you to qualify for the Best Buy rewards promotion. This will come in handy if I want to change my avatar or change my Xbox handle (User Name). It never expires and will just sit there until you decide to use it.

Gift cards, are at best, some of the most difficult purchases to make due to the possible appearance of "Impersonal" and "Cold"... However, Not Once, have I ever walked into a Best Buy and been dissatisfied with any of my Gift Card purchases over the 15 years I have been a patron. The reason is simple, Best Buy, is a believer in "Listening" to the "Whole" of the consumers needs, as opposed to the "Sell Whatever" may be in hand by any given patron. They also ask leading questions, quantify the overall need, and make sure that the "Gift Card" purchase does not leave the organization with a cold feel. The right tool for the right job, and that, in and of itself, is why I purchase all of my Gift Cards from Best Buy.

The Xbox gift card is easy to use and the best part is that you can use it for more than just Xbox purchases. You can add the digital money to your Microsoft Account and make purchases in the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 and the web. This enables you to buy non Xbox related items such as Windows 10 software, games, apps, books, movies and more. Hardware such as laptops, keyboards, headphones and basically anything in the Windows Store. You can even use the digital money from the Xbox gift card to buy In App Purchases in your favorite PC, Mobile or Xbox games, directly from your Microsoft Account.

It was a cold december day when I happened into the store. I found myself wondering how would I get my next game for Xbox. I had previously tried physical media, but the darned dog thought they were frisbees. Then I tried driving up to MS headquarters with shoeboxes full of singles, but found that to be too inconvenient every time a new game came out. I figured this time, "Hey, maybe I can just buy digitally using the currency cards." And voila, success. I am now able to easily buy things online thanks to the ease of these cards. Also, this was a totally pointless review since it was literally just reviewing money, but if Best Buy really wants the review that badly then here they go.

These make great gift cards or stocking stuffers for gamers. I use them when I don't want to be billed on a credit card and control how much the family spends. Buying things is pretty easy to accidentally do on the console. The only caveat is that if you plan to buy a digital xbox 360 game with these cards, you have to log onto a 360 and use it with that console, it does not work with buying 360 games on an xbox one, one S, or X. It has something to do with the servers for billing being different. To clarify: you can buy games for the intended console, but not for cross-platform buying.

Not much to say. Its Xbox cash. Only problem with it was it was never activated. So it kept telling me invalid code when I put it in. I called best buy and they said they would send me a new card in a day or two. Almost 2 weeks later and I never even got a confirmation email. I called again finally and it turned out the original rep didn't do anything. It was just sitting as an open case...good thing I called back. Anyway the new rep was very helpful. she figured out the wrong code was entered on their end so it was never properly activated. We fixed the code to the right one and boom! Problem fixed! Unacceptable first experience w best buy support. Good on the second...but no fault of the product itself.

Just got a 4K curved Samsung with HDR and this thing is freakin sweet! Took 10 minutes to setup, very easy. I did have to bypass my receiver as the main switch since the tv comes with a one connect cable as the main tv input. Just get an optical cable if you get one and want to use a stereo system for audio out. The picture quality blows me away and I'm just using an Xbox one as a player. It does take a little time to get used to the fine adjustments of the picture( backlight, brightness and contrast especially) I recommend starting those at half and then tweaking the picture. Overall no problems, best investment I've made in a long while!

These gift cards are the best thing Microsoft has come up with. It’s very easy for your teenage to download and use immediately. They can purchase any game or things for a game you already have either using the whole amount or just a little at a time. And the best thing about these gift cards are that they come in different amounts. We don’t even have to supply a credit card in order for your teen to use the gift card. I love it!!

For a while, Best Buy had a pre-order SKU for State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition on Xbox One. One day I took some gift cards and went to go pre-order it, but their pre-order offer had vanished. Turns out that's because it's no longer on Xbox Live (at least not exclusively). So I went ahead and got this Xbox Live gift card instead. Think about all the content you buy from Xbox Live (e.g. game DLC and expansions, desktop themes, avatar gear, etc.). In the unlikely event that you can't find something you want at Best Buy (heresy, I know), this bad boy lets you convert Best Buy gift cards or reward certificates into funds on your Xbox Live account. What's not to like about that?

I was looking for an alternative way to allow someone to make a purchase for one of the newly advertised Zombie Maps "Shaolin Shuffle" via an Xbox One without me having to input my credit card information. I went over to best buy to pick up a card to use. Unfortunately, I still had to use my credit card because of the purchase does not give you the true total cost including taxes, so I was thinking the purchase was truly $14.99 (being the reason why I picked up the $15 card). If the child who was making the purchase as well as myself was able to see the actual cost, I would have bought a higher value card to use.

If you are looking to add $50 worth of credit for the xbox online store, this is what you need to get. If you think that this will allow you to get a hot dog and a beverage of your choice, this is not what you want to get as it won't allow you to do that. With the credit on the online store you can then use it to purchase awesome games, movies, and DLC. If you make a hot dog and get a beverage of your choice at home after adding the credit and purchasing some awesome content than your day/night could be complete. The possibilities are endless. ENDLESS!!

If you own any kind of Xbox you must purchase these gift cards. The card allows you access to rent movies, TV episodes, purchase digital copies of movies, buy additional weapons for your games, receive additional help in defeating your enemies in your games, anything that requires additional purchases to enhance your gaming and viewing experiences through your Xbox. Grandparents, parents, girlfriend, boyfriend, casual acquaintance, if you don't know what to get someone for a Birthday, Christmas, Hanukkah, Bar Mitzvah, Halloween, Easter gift but you know they have an Xbox system then this would be perfect for them and greatly appreciated by your gamer.

This card allows you to buy games, DLC etc without the need for a debit/credit card. It is very convenient, but I still wished that I wasn't taxed for non physical items on Xbox Live Marketplace, because it leaves you short of what you're trying to buy if it's $24.99 or a little less. That would probably be my only complaint with these cards. If they somehow had a blank card that allowed you to put what you wanted on it, but still make it a code, then that would be awesome.

xbox and or best buy call their currency 'gift cards". So then when you buy an xbox and say get a $50 best buy gift card, you cannot use that $50 to purchase xbox points to buy the games best buy doest even have in stock. a flawed and almost con - like system. your sales-people on the floor need to be informed so that they stop spreading mis-information such as this to customers like me. ( i was literally told to buy ms points via bb.com w/ the gift card and then buy the halo game they didnt have, and voila im 'saved')

The best buy I went to had these in stock instead of the $50 gift cards so I got 4 of these to redeem towards far cry 5 gold edition it's a gift card and should work because it is a fast card and they are really simple to use wish I could get the $50 ones so I wouldn't have to redeem 4 codes but that's okay I know they will work I like these cards because they have no tax too which is nice
