Let me get a few things out the way first. I used to own an Xbox 360 but then it red-ringed on me and I decided to buy a Playstation 3 instead. Fast forward three years later and I finally broke down and bought another 360. Why? Because it took that long for it to reach a price point that I found acceptable. I happened to be shopping online and found this version of the console on sale during Black Friday for $200. Combined with the Best Buy certificates I had, that brought the console down to around $155. For that price, it was worth it for me to reinvest in the Xbox brand. So, keep in mind the price I paid for this item factors heavily into this review. I would never have paid $300 for this product because I didn't think it was a good deal. Yes, you do get a decent sized HD on the console and wireless is built in FINALLY. It also comes with Skyrim, a game that was built to work on the 360 hardware and a racing game Forza. The reason I say I don't think it's a good deal is because for that same price, you can get a Playsation 3 that has many of the same games as Xbox(plus it's own exclusives) has a built in blu-ray player and a free online service. If you want to do anything online with the Xbox 360 (watch Netflix, pay against other players), it requires a gold membership which costs about $60 a year. Sure, that's not a lot of money, but as I already pay for my internet connection, anywhere I can save money, I take it. I don't even game online, but I watch a lot of Netflix, so I think Sony has a better approach. I don't want you to misunderstand and think I dislike this product or Xbox in general. On the contrary, I think it's a solid console. It has some great exclusive games that aren't available anywhere else (Alan Wake, Shadow Complex, Halo, Gears of War) plus a better backward compatibly service than Sony. Also, a lot of multiplatform games are built on the 360 first then ported to the PS3, so the 360 version will run a lot smoother in most cases. The one thing I am unsure of is the failure rate on the slim Xbox 360. The original had a tendency to overheat because Microsoft designed it with poor ventilation. I have yet to hear anything regarding the slim 360, so I hope no news is good news. If you happen to score this item for the deal I got it for, it's definitely worth the price of admission. Otherwise, at it's current $300 price point, I find to hard to recommend to anyone, except the most die hard Xbox fans.

I purchased this system when my original 2006 model 360 finally shot me the RROD (I was told that was a good long run for an original model that didn't even have an HDMI hookup). The system was very easy to hook up via HDMI and it's much much smaller than the originals (like half the size). This bundle comes with 2 games - Forza 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I must note that Forza 4 isn't the full game (you're missing about 100 cars) and Skyrim is a download, not the actual disc. I didn't care about this however as I don't play racing games and I already play Skyrim on my pc (if you have a pc that can do it - it's far superior than console). The bundle comes with a nice wireless controller (actually comes with batteries in the box). I think my original wireless controller was like $60. The 250gig system is the way to go. You could pay $199 for the 4gig system only to end up needing a hard drive anyways. I must note that if you are buying this system for movie streaming, you will need to purchase a subscription to Xbox Live Gold in order to do so. This is ridiculous in my opinion since Microsoft is making you pay a sub fee on top of the sub fees you'd already be paying for Netflix, HBO Go or Amazon Prime Instant Video. If you want a device that is a game system AND media streamer, go with a PS3 and you can get those apps for free (minus HBO Go which is not available on the PS3). Besides, PS3 is also a 3D-ready Blu-Ray player (the Xbox can only function as a DVD player).

I bought this for my son to upgrade our XBOX 360 dinosaur. There were a couple of reasons why I bought it, WiFi ability, Skyrim Download included. Set up was easy but the WiFi hardware was poor. I am no slouch when it comes to set up, we have a Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, laptops, TV's blue-ray players, iPad's, etc, all having connect-ability through WiFi. This unit seemed to lag. this wasn't the only issue. The downloadable content would get to about 8% and not download any more. After 6 times on the phone to Microsoft, they suggested that I send the Xbox in for service . . .Really?? ... it is brand new out of the box and I need to have it serviced and reconditioned. Other items from the Xbox live store downloaded just fine with no problems. Every time we called we had to redo what this technician would tell us even though we told him we had already done it and needed some escalation of the issue. everything from unplugging router, modem, adding ports, deleting profile, deleting network, removing hard drive, then they wanted us to go some else and try to down load the game . . . Are you kidding me, I have to leave with all the cords and Xbox to download the game. He even tried to tell me that it was a problem with the area in the hard drive it was trying to download into, that I had to download a larger game, even if I didn't want it, to fill the slot so that the Skyrim would then download. Anyone who knows anything about computers would know this wouldn't work, but he was insistent and said he guaranteed that if would work . . . it didn't. It just became too frustrating and the supervisor wasn't much more help. As a result, we returned this bundle back the Best Buy and bought the WiFi adapter for the older Xbox . . . no issues super fast connection. I WOULD NOT BUY THIS PARTICULAR BUNDLE!

The XBOX 360 is an awesome gaming console. Graphics and sound are top notch and easliy rival those of PS3. There are many screens in XBOX 360 exclusive titles that look photo-realistic and I have not seen a significant difference in graphics quality between PS3 and XBOX 360 versions of multi-console games. If you want awesome HD gaming, then XBOX 360 is a prime choice for you. The sound quality adds to the immersive experience of gaming. The controller fits into the palm of your hand very well and quickly becomes intuitive. The controller offers fast and responsive gameplay and I really like the wireless interface. You don't have to keep it pointed straight at the console and you're not tethered to the console by a wire so you can sit at a comfotable distance from the screen. The interface with the XBOX 360 works very well. The menu screens are nice and user firendly. The HDD is more than large enough for games, video, music and other XBOX Live downloads. The console hooks up easily to any HDTV. Just hook it up, follow the simple instructions and you're ready the play in HD! Microsoft has given us a great console with a library of quality games. If it had Blu-Ray playback, the XBOX 360 would be perfect, I hope the next generation of XBOX has Blu-Ray! For great HD gaming, XBOX 360 is a great choice.

So I have been waiting to buy a replacement xbox 360, I wanted a good deal. I saw this and jumped at it. HOWEVER, the Forza Motorsport 4 included is an Essentials Edition Version. That means they left out 200 cars from the game. No where in the description from best buy does it state this. So I got home unpacked everything only then to realize what I have bought. It shows it clearly on the picture of the box, but with all the excitement I didn't even notice it. The bundle with the steering wheel does include the full version but not this one. You can download the additional cars for and additional cost. Also, it did not include the code for a free month of xbox gold. Instead it included 2 codes for the skyrim game. I guess it's not a big deal seeing that forza horizon is being released soon. But what happened to the good deal I thought I was getting?

I bought this during the black friday sale for under $200. I wanted to get this to replace my old xbox 360 arcade which got the rrod. This bundle come with the essentials edition of forza 4 which means it is missing over 200 cars from the full game. Having 300 cars is a lot but having more is always better. Also, skyrim in this bundle is a digital download from xbox live. This isn't a problem for me since I got a fast internet connection but heads up for people with slow connections. Might as well sell the code and use that money to buy the physical copy if you do happen to have slow internet. Still, overall the slim console is real slick! This is much smaller than my arcade and it runs much quieter too. The touch sensitive power and eject buttons on the console is awesome. I would recommend this to people who want quality gaming for an affordable price for a couple more years. Otherwise, I would recommend waiting a year or two for the next gen xbox.

I got this during Black Friday because it was a really good deal. It was mostly for my wife since she wanted the Kinect and I already have a PS3. I'm very impressed by all the things it can do and how it performs. I like the fact that it has a lot more entertainment apps than the PS3 (I mostly use HBO Go and NHL Gamecenter). I don't have many games since the majority of the games I could play in it I already own on the PS3. I did get some of the exclusive ones and they are pretty good games. The 3 biggest issues I have with the console are: Xbox Live Gold, lack of Bluetooth connectivity and the limitations for hardware upgrades. I don't like that it's required to have the gold subscription just so you can use the apps since I'm not really into online gaming. I have PS Plus and I think it's worth every penny for all the stuff that I get and all the money I save not having to buy a game that I might not like after playing it. Aside from that and having to use Microsoft proprietary hardware for HDD upgrade, I'm pretty satisfied. I would recommend this to a friend looking for an efficient console with excellent performance.

I had the old system and I got the so call ring of death. Thought about a sony system but I had to much invested in 360 xbox games so stayed with 360 xbox. I also thought about waiting for the new game system, internet name 720 xbox, but the time I would have to wait was just to long. Some time next year around Christmas 2013 or after. Best buy had a good deal on the Christmas system $249.99 and then on Black Friday the price was matched at the price of $199.99 a $50.00 savings Best Buy has always been good with price matching prices. With a charge of $99.99 to have my old system repaired I figured the new systen cost me $100.00 dollars. So the new system was the system I will stay with and see what the new system is like when it comes out sometime around Christmas 2013 or after! Price will matter as to if I decide to get the so called 720 xbox game system or wait until the price of the new system comes down! As for now I am happy with my new system!

I bought this bundle on black friday for $199.99, so it was a very good deal for the $. Even at $250 it's a good deal. At $300, mmm not really sure. If it fits your needs its great. Comes with alot and it's 250GB. I do like the fact that microsoft made this 250GB bundle with the flat black instead of the gloss. The gloss gets fingerprints and scratches easily as well as shows dust easily. Just a small change, but, I like it. I do wish the Skyrim was a physical disk and not a token download, but just a preference. Also the Forza Essentials has less cars than the reg edition of Forza 4 that came out before it. A bit disappointing, as I love racing games, but I knew that before buying it...... Overall, I was very pleased with my purchase , but mostly because of the price. My advise....weigh the pros and cons, find all you available options and needs, and make you decision based on that.......

Love Xbox, big fan. Multiple Xbox owner. Xbox live I only have one complaint, if you don't feel like going to Walmart or "best buy" to add some Microsoft points, you can always add your debit/credit card. My husband found this out first hand... You can not delete your card off your profile. His sister came over and while we were not home she figured she would rent some movies, well she charged his card about $20 and when we tried to contact support to have them remove his card they could not. They said the only thing we could do, is put a passcode on his account. Their have been several other issues that customer service could not be of any help what so ever. The customer service people are very knowledgable indeed, however, the list of what the can do is small. And that was a disappointment for the Xbox.

The product is great for all you Xbox fans, but it takes some getting use to for the PS3 fans like me. I bought it as a Christmas gift for my nephew so that he'd have his own gaming system, and also so he could watch whatever he wanted on Netflix without hogging my tv and PS3. I was upset when I found out that you had to have a "paid" membership account just to access Netflix. I thought that was ridiculous considering I already pay for Netflix. My nephew is 6, and doesn't need all that. I'm really disappointed in Microsoft for that. My nephew is still on my tv for Netflix, and I'm $200 broker.... Other than that its ok. Love the kinect and the graphics did bring the tv alive. Buyer be ware. Get ready for the annual financial commitment when u purchase. Happy gaming!

I've been through three of these. All died right after warranty. Replacement unit failed as well. Yes, it is fun, but not worth the money. Pretty sad considering Microsoft's status. AND the bundle...really? I thought Live was 49.99 a year. Now it's 15.00/month. That's 260.00 for two years...and I hate math. So, it's 360.00 to buy this, with free Live basically. Whereas the PS3 online is free. Kind of a no-brainer here. Get a PS3. I've played games side-by-side and the PS3's graphics are better on almost every game. AND I have an original PS3 that has NEVER failed. Sorry folks...the 360 is a piece of junk. Just be prepared to buy a new one every 13 months or so.

This whole bundle is great. It makes a great gift for anyone who wants an Xbox. I would advise for any buyer to wait until black friday to purchase this bundle, because the price drops by at least $100. I learned because I have bought this bundle twice already. Once in September for a birthday and once in November (during black friday sales) for a Christmas present. The bundle was being sold during black friday for waaaay less than the usual price. BUT if you cannot wait until black friday, then this bundle is still worth the purchase. Unless you want the Kinnect too, then I would suggest looking into the bundle that has the Kinnect included as well.

I have been a Nintendo loyalist for years and years! I still like Nintendo, but since I got my Xbox, the Wii has only been turned on 2 times!!! this was an incredible Black Friday deal, so I jumped on it. 2 free games and the 250 GB hard drive... Great graphics, fun interface, I love the achievements and comparing with friends... I could go on... It came with Forza 4 and Skyrim. I must say that Skyrim might be one of the best games that I have ever played in my life!!! Graphics, story, the open-world concept is amazing! A+ for the Xbox, F to me for waiting so long.

Again as stated in the header the choices are Xbox or Playstation, I had to go with the Xbox because my son wanted Minecraft so bad. Love the gaming console but the Xbox live subscription for services you already pay for is a serious downer. I was lucky to still find a holiday Forza and Skyrim bundle at my local store and am really enjoying both games for myself, after hours when the kid isn't playing. To sum it up, Xbox is a great console but if I had been purchasing for my self it would have been the Playstation for the free online and built in bluray it also comes in 500G at the same price point as the Xbox 250

Coming to XBOX from Wii i couldn't be happier as the gaming is way better. With the 250g hard drive is plenty of space so the fact skyrim is a download is no problem. one draw back of it is unless you have extremely good internet it will take 6-8hrs. to download a full game. Simple enough put on autodownloads to stay on when the power is off. and download when at work or after you go to bed. also although you don't get the entire forza game 320 cars and the full career mode is more than enough. all in all great system!! very happy!

Its great only thing that bugged me was that it did not have an HDMI cord when i got the ELITE a few years ago it came with one and they were like 50-100$ back then now they're like 5$ i mean the least you could do is throw it in there.... And obviously gonna get hate for this but Skyrim and Forza(haven't played either yet so don't know how i feel about them) are not may favorite brands but they are two pretty good, new(ish), great sounding games just would've liked a CoD in there or something with it!

Hard Drive has only a 90 day warranty but no one tells you that. The console all of the sudden shows a E68 error message on the screen and it goes dead and a red light on the console. Once you contact Microsoft or XBOX my service they force you to buy a new hard drive. My service to trouble shoot asks if you have a spare harddrive meaning that it is weak or defective and one has to be full of spares hard drives from them. And they want you to run toy friend;s house and try your old hard drive or to run a nearby store and try your old hard drive . The customer service just sucks.

The XBox 250g has plenty of memory for all the gaming and graphics. The XBox live feature allowed us to game with extended family members as far away as Cananda. The controllers take some getting used to but the kids picked it up quickly. Shooting, driving, flying etc with your thumbs takes practice but only if you're over 40 :) The graphics and sound are very lifelike and keep the kids entertained. We've added a projector and portable big screen which really blows it up! Our house is now the hangout of the block.
