    Great Xbox Console

We had an old white xbox and we were trying to decide whether to upgrade. After this one came out at E3 decided to go ahead. I am glad we did. My son is the one who plays this and he is a heavy user. This machine is HALF the size of our old one and very quiet. When you put in a disc you have to listen very carefully to hear anything. This is a nice change from the old one. The other thing I noticed was the size and weight. This thing is very small and takes up very little room. I love it! My son says it is faster on the play. The only bummer is that it doesn't come with any of the newer games. It has a couple of arcade style games loaded, but they are simple games. This was not a deal breaker for us, but would have been a nice bonus to have a new cool game. That is why I put 4 stars for the value because it is the same price as the previous generation of console that has 2 games with it. We were able to easily transfer our Live account and game content. Within an hour of pulling it out of the box we were good to go! If you have one of the earlier generations of the xbox this is a vast improvement. I don't have a basis to comment on this compared to the more current generation of xbox.

    Quietest xbox yet

We had two consoles of the Jasper chipset, which was one of the first of the original designs that pretty much didn't "red ring." We've had those for several years without issue. I liked the Slim model but we had no reason to buy it. I did some remodeling and wanted to replace the white xbox with the new black one (and it has a bigger HD). It looks great and is significantly smaller. It's smaller than the PS3 Slim model sitting next to it. Compared to the PS3 Slim and the Jasper/original 360, it is very, very quiet. Virtually silent when the disc is not spinning. I haven't quite found the actual specs, but this should be the lowest power consuming xbox to date. I agree some of the Slim bundles are better values, because you can get the same xbox with the Slim bundled with a couple of games for the same price. Still, I like the look of this one better than the slim--more conservative and modular. Yes, you do lose some of the ports--no more component video, and an audio out that's no longer there, so be warned. Still, I just use the ethernet, HDMI, and power, so it's fine. The power brick is the smallest I've seen so far on the 360.

Definitely the best revision of the XBox 360

My first XBox 360 was the 1st revision that added HDMI. I was very lucky not to suffer the common red ring of death and enjoyed the system quite a bit. My main complaint was the size of the unit /power brick and the loud noise it produced during use. With this version all of that is gone, the unit is a little over half the size and is ultra quite. My two complaints now are latest version of the dashboard and the cost of the unit. Each revision has buried functionality further down the menu tree and increased the size of ads. I really wish they would roll back the interface 3 years at the least. As for price, considering the advancement in technology since 2005 and the cost of hard drives there really is no reason for the price to be this high. That being said I think this system is still within the realm of good purchase if you really don't plan on upgrading to XBox One immediately at launch or at all and want to enjoy the 360s vast library. The build quality is also quite nice.

    Great System

At almost 8 years old now, and on it's third (aesthetic) generation, the 360 feels like it's finally come into it's own. They fixed the major issues people had with the Launch and S models (touch vs. physical buttons; overheating; disk read errors). I jumped from the 120GB Elite to this machine, and will never look back. The fan noise alone was worth the cost, not to mention the long term security in buying a new console. Sure, it's got one less USB port (5>4), but oh well! How many things are you plugging into your XBox!? As far as I know you can only plug in TWO USB sticks for external memory, the Kinect has it's own power port, and the front two are for Plug and Play and wired controllers. Really great system and tremendous value when you consider the return on Cost to Time of Enjoyment. I also use it as a media streaming device. I can rout any and all media on my Windows 8 laptop through the box to my TV. (So awesome) And HuluPlus and Netflix Streaming are available as well.

I originally had the XBox 360 Model S (it was the first Slim model to be released), which I sold to pay for the 360 Model E. The device is much quieter than the previous edition. Uses the same type of hard drive as the previous model and the hard drive door is a lot smaller and is hidden a lot better than before. The ports are a lot smaller for the power brick and if you are still using AV cables rather than HDMI, the AV port is a lot smaller than before. I love the new overall design of the 360E. The matte black and shiny black look great together. It sits right next to my Apple TV (3rd Gen) and they look perfect together. Makes my entire entertainment system match.

Bought this as a birthday present for my 11-year-old daughter as an upgrade for the WII we got about 4 years ago. The difference is amazing! Graphics are outstanding, and the ability to download games instead of buying them is a big bonus since it avoids clutter (great for OCD people like me). Got the Xbox on sale, 300 down to 250, plus a 50 gift card, plus a discount on the XBOX Live Gold membership. Only complaint is the system only comes with one controller, had to use the 50 gift card to get a second controller.

I've had my console for a bunch of years now and it's been a lot of fun. Fun games, fun graphics with good sound, and good apps to go along with it. I upgraded to the Xbox One, but I kept my Xbox 360 because right now XB1 doesn't have backwards compatibility, so I can still play games on my 360. It's a fun system. The biggest problem I had, other than the red rings I received a few times over the years, is how much garbage Microsoft pushes on you to download like certain apps. But this is a fun system, even with the XB1 already out.

Everything I loved about my original white xbox has just been improved. Really fast, and I am blown away by how quiet the thing is. If you use any, ANY volume whatsoever you can't hear the xbox. And it just feels faster when loading games. A bit smaller than the original white, with a nice black finish. I complain about the price being $299 still, but that's really not that bad for a great machine that packs 250 gigs of storage and built in WiFi.

The xbox 360 240gb drive is sweet. I liked the fact that the wireless is built into it. most of the problems with my old xbox came from the adapter for the wireless. So far this xbox is running great. Had some issues with transferring my data from my old xbox to the new. The Netflix will not run and youtube. tried to download again but that didn't work. will have to call xbox support.

I bought this Xbox after my old 360 bit the dust with the red ring of death. The smaller footprint fits in my cabinet better and the smaller transformer creates less clutter. The E model is significantly quieter than the older. Xbox which makes my wife happy. The graphics are sharper which makes the game play even better. The Xbox 360 E is definitely the way to go if your old unit dies.

I've had a 20GB pro model since 2006 and it finally died on me last week. Luckily I waited until E3 was done to get another, because this one looks sweet. It pretty much does what all the slims does, but looks sleeker doing it. It most definitely performs better, and faster then the pro's. If you're in need of a 360 look no further.

Having owned both the Xbox 360 and PS3, I firmly believe that the 360 is the clear winner. The main reason for purchasing this console was to replace the one that was stolen during a break in. I lost both consoles and chose only to replace the 360. This latest version is sleek quiet and efficient. I was hesitant on whether to replace with the XboxOne coming out, but their are way to many great games available to play on the 360

This new xbox 360 is great! I would suggest investing in one only because the XboxOne will not be backwards compatible so if you want to play 360 games still, you need a 360. So if you're weary about the console you have now, buy this brand new console! I bought it, and it works great. Its fast and very quiet

Love the system. Halo is all they made it out to be. Very fun!! The 30 day free pass on XBOX Live is good for only one avatar (used it for my daughter) so when I tried to sign up for another free membership for me, they (Microsoft) required a credit card for the free trial. I could cancel before it was up if I didn't want to keep it. LAME!!! I spent a lot of time online setting up the account to get updates. Also LAME!!!

This new revision is nice looking and quiet compared to the original Gen of the Xbox 360. Not sure if it is more quiet then the 2nd gen but works well for me and stays cool even in a enclosed space. No issues yet running the system. I ran my original Xbox 360 on the Component video ports so I had to lose an HDMI connection on my TV for this. Otherwise a good purchase and great system.

I've owned each iteration of the Xbox 360 and this one is by far the best. It's insanely quiet and looks great. This release was relatively quiet in comparison to the Xbox One, but should have made quite a few more waves. Designed to appear similar to the One while tasked with keeping us tied over until the One arrives. The power brick has been updated, which is way better, and have I mentioned it's quieter?

The xbox 360 is about on par with the ps3 when it comes to its pros and cons. Online functionality is great, but there is a lack in variety of the genres of games. If you are FPS fan, though, this will be the system to get because there are countless amounts of FPS games on this console.

I recently bought this new console because my old elite console was starting to fail on me. The new console is a lot quieter than my old one. Would highly recommend getting this new version so that you can still play some of your favorite 360 games before the new Xbox one replaces it entirely.

The console feel better built than any of the previous Xbox 360 consoles. It is smaller, quieter, faster and very reliable. They did remove one USB port, down 1 to 4 ports. They changed the propriety audio/video cable to an industry standard. Worked right away with the Kinect with no issues.
