Nice Console, Basic Controllers, AWESOME GAME!!

What a deal! My 360 elite got the red ring of death TWO MONTHS AGO, so I had a choice...fix it for $100 plus shipping, then buy COD: MW2, buy a new console for $200 plus tax plus the game, get an elite for $300 plus tax and the game, OR be patient and get a customized Elite, two BLACK controllers, a black headset, a 250GB hard drive, AND THE GAME all for $400 plus tax on 11-10-09. Look at that value! (In order) $300, $80, $15, who knows how much for the hard drive ($80 value maybe?), and $60. That's over $500 worth of stuff. I plan on selling the hard drive and one controller on eBay. Here's my REVIEW: CONSOLE: It looks WAY better in person. I'm not super impressed, but I wasn't impressed at all by the pics on BB's website, so if you like the pics, you'll LOVE the console. Plus, it cool to not just be black like regular elites. Plus you get a HUGE, never before seen hard drive. Very neat CONTROLLERS: Well, there's nothing special about them. Black controllers, with that ugly gray bottom (the thin strip of plastic that faces you when you're holding it pointed at the TV). Still, awesome that they're included. GAME: This game is incredible. The story is so intense, you'll want to play it over and over, and don't get me started on the multiplayer. The ONLY COD i've played before is COD 2, so I'm a total newb, but don't be intimidated. You'll get owned online for a while, but the more you play the better you'll get and the more stuff you'll unlock, which will make you EVEN BETTER. I did not think I would like this game as much as I do, but it is truly AWESOME! I'm a Halo junkie, and I like ODST and REALLY love playing Halo 3 multiplayer, but this game is so REAL, and looks and sounds SOOOO AMAZING, that I'm gonna have to give it the edge. A little harder to get a handle on, but with practice, this WILL BE YOUR NEW FAVORITE GAME! I'm out!

    Best Gaming Console Available

This is my 3rd Elite purchase and everyone is working flawlessly. I will admit that the design of the box allows for heavy accumulation of dust and lint which can build up over time. The manual never tells you to used compressed air to keep everything clean so being proactive will help ensure years of enjoyment. For all of the PS3 Fanboys, please be aware that I also have 2 PS3's as well and love them equally. As far as a gaming console and internet based gameplay the 360 destroys the PS3, no installing just gaming. Drop in a disc and you are playing. Xbox live at a mere $4.16 a month at full retail (or found for $3.25/month if you look) is worth its weight in gold compared to the horrible audio experience you will have on the PS3 network. So if you are willing to not buy that single cup of Starbucks Coffee once a month you have paid for far superior Service. the PS3 network for gaming works fairly well depending on the game but the audio chat is horrible despite the best Bluetooth device you can buy and to say otherwise is a lie. Now the advantage of the PS3 is that it is a multimedia BEAST! If you want a system for movies, audio, pictures etc. this is the system to go with and cannot be compared to the 360. The decision to use USB was brilliant, if you want to copy your saved games, just slide in a USB device of your choice and copy away, this also goes for any type of multimedia that you can get your hands on. It is nice to surf the net, find a picture you like and save it as your desktop at a whim. Microsoft finally has designed a system that is true to its name. A huge hard drive, a well designed dashboard, cool running design (internal), and easy setup. I will admit that they should of researched this several years back and should be slapped for rushing it to market just to hit the holiday selling spree. But after loosing their butts financially with the entry consoles they now have the ultimate gaming machine!

    Finally replaced my 360

I had to replace my original console because it died exactly a year and a week after I purchased it. Since it only had two rings it wasn't covered on the extended three year that xbox provided. Instead of paying money to repair it, it died a week before the ps3 drop in price, I got me a ps3 console. Fun as the ps3 is I actually missed playing on the xbox. When I found out this new sku was coming out I had to get it. The game was fun. Intense action and the online experience is the best! I haven't had any sort of lag, how I missed that... The story of the game is, well, it seemed like they cut a chapter out or something because at a point you get lost from what was going on. I mean after a while you put two and two together, but it still seemed as if they cut a chapter out of the story telling. Still I enjoyed it. I'm not that much of a hardcore gamer, but I'll tell you that I beat the game (campaign mode) in a day (about 6-7 hours). But I suppose that the online multiplayer is what sets this game apart from the rest. I'm still having fun with this game though, just like I did with MW1. The system looks great with it's paint job. It came with 2 black controllers and a matching headset which was great. The 250gb of space is humongous. I wish they packed the data transfer/migration kit inside though. I have a bunch of games that I purchased still on my 20gb so right now I have that plugged in; mostly music and stuff for my music games. Overall I like it. I tell you though, I do not remember the system being that loud. I mean when I play a game you can hear the fan. I put my hand around the vents and you can feel the hot air from it. But I learned my lesson, this time around I bought it with an extended warranty from BB. ..

I upgraded from a 360 pro that had RRoDed. I had been thinking about getting an Elite for some time and the RRoD just firmed up my decision. The "regular" Elite systems are $299. For the extra $100 you get an extra controller, Call of duty Modern warfare 2, custom console graphics and a 250GB hard drive. The controller and game alone make up for the extra money you spend. Then you add in the the extra 130GB of hard drive space (regular Elites only get a 120gb hard drive) that according to most gaming sources on line will only be available with this system. You just can't beat that. Another plus is the Jasper chip set. It's supposed to help prevent RRoDs from happening. I have noticed that mine runs cooler and the dvd drive isn't as loud either. The downsides for me are limited. Custom console graphics aren't something I prefer. I would rather have a plan black Elite. But when you consider the deal you are getting it's worth giving in to cosmetics of the console. If you are worried about it clashing with your entertainment center don't. I never really notice it unless I'm changing a game. I was also a little disheartened to find out that the hard drive transfer cable and the HDMI cable were not included. The HDMI cable can be had (3 pack) for under $10 if you take the time to search the net. The transfer cable is another story all together. The minimum I found it for was $10 plus shipping and that was off of a well known auction site. Microsoft also sells them for $15 to $20 plus shipping. Thankfully I found out a friend had one and I borrowed his. If you are looking to get your first 360 or upgrade I would recommend this system to you in a heart beat.

Well, this is my 3rd 360, as the previous ones both got RROD. I had given up on Microsoft until I was informed that the new 360s have the jasper chip in them, which have a far less fail rate than the previous chips Microsoft used for the 360. So, I visited the Best Buy site looking to buy the Elite console and noticed the MW2 Special Edition version and saw all that it came with and it was a no-brainer. I received it via UPS today, hooked it up, and ever since I've been in Call of Duty heaven. The game is awesome, the system is awesome and much quieter than my previous one, and the color scheme and design is AWESOME! The pictures don't do it justice, it's a site to behold. The only thing that some people might dislike is that it doesn't come with any component or HDMI cables so that you can get a full HD experience out of the system. However, both types of cables aren't that expensive, you can find some good ones for about the same price you would pay for a CD. I, myself just used the HDMI cable I had hooked to the other 360 that died and viola, HD at it's best. So, bottom line, this is worth it just for the limited edition console and HUGE HDD alone because once stores sell out neither will be available for purchase at retailers any more.

This has not been a easy decision. I have checked over a hundred forums, I have read 100 reviews, I have checked side to side comparions. Basically in a nutshell I've been told for functional and reliability PS 3 is the way to go. PS3 also is given the edge with picture/graphics quality. I am not a fanboy either way, presently I do not own either. Then why X box 360 given my credits to PS 3? Two reasons, maybe three. One online game play, its tops with Microsoft, my grandson also owns a x box 360 and I want to play against him. Two my in store game selection, just check out any store? X Box 360 takes up a aisle and a half, mean while PS3 is only a half and aisle. Three, used game selection, I am a sports fan, I don't necessary need the latest Madden this or NBA that, or Baseball this game. With x box 360 I can buy these at a reasonable cost. Thus saving for other costs like wireless or other repairs or improvements. Simply this I wish I could jam the two units together and get the best of both, wireless free, online free, bluetooth, blue ray, no dvd or cd issues. a grand selection. It just isn't going to happen. In PS 3's case I'm not buying a fansy gaming unit to stick in the garage, with poor online play, no or few friends with system, no game selection. Maybe one day I'll have both but for now a x box 360 elite COD 2 system.

Pre-ordered online, had standard shipping and it arrived on the realease date. MW2 is an awesome game, haven't gotten bored of playing it yet, although the online multiplayer can get annoying. First day I got it one of the controllers started to just randomly turn off in the middle of the game, had to turn it back on every 5-10minutes, now its every minute or two it will turn off. Switched to using the second controller it came with, used it fine for about 2 weeks and then the joysticks quit working. Nothing happened to damage them, just all of a sudden started having problems. Didn't use them a whole lot (~ 2 hours a day average), didn't drop them or anything. Even though the controllers are known to usually be very durable where you can be using them nonstop and basically throwing them at the wall and they'll still work.(although not recommended) Mic worked for about the first week, now if I try to talk it's just static, and if I move it around at all it's just a ton of static. Hopefully this is just an isolated occurence, and I'm one of the few with defective controllers+mic. Beside the problems I've had with the controllers and mic it's a great deal for a great system+game. The MW2 xbox skin makes it look amazing. Saves you a ton of money too.

Well, after getting the Red Rings of Death on both of the xBox 360's in my household the last 2 months, and realizing it is not worth $119.99 each to send them back to Microsoft for repair (these xBox's were part of the original production with the problems back in Fall of 2005). And, seeing everyone around me send theirs back for repair #4 and #5, I decided to give Microsoft one last shot and preordered this Limited Edition xBox 360 on 11/9/09. I do think it is a great deal with the extra controller and large hard drive, and of course the COD Modern Warfare 2, which my teen boys love. I am hoping the technology has changed in these new xBox 360s. I look forward to receiving the console and will keep my fingers crossed. My entire family is a gaming family (husband and sons play xBox as well as World of Warcraft and I solely play World of Warcraft the last few years), so please Microsoft, don't let me down! Anyone know how long it will take to receive the package? It says release date is 11/10/09, so would I receive 11/11/09? Katie

Just picked mine up a few hours ago from Best buy.... it was like christmas opening the box ha ha. Everything worked great right out of the box... amazing picture... easy set up... and tons of goodies inside. I'll admit I'm a big Playstation fan but this xbox is worth the buy even if you are loyal to another brand. I heard the online community is a bit better for xbox so I thought I would get a nice product with a big online game to test out that boast.... one thing I have seen about all the reviews is the fact that they no longer have hdmi cords... well thats not even a problem because the money you save on this deal and with the other elites is plenty of money to get a cord and they are getting cheap just look around and you can find amazing deals anywhere.... with the best buy protection plan I would recommend this product to even the biggest fanboy/girl of any other console out there! xbox 360 CODMW2+ Best buy= great deal! Go and get one for yourself!

    MW2 LE XBOX 360

This unit has a real slick paint job and comes with ALMOST everything you need to get started. For around 4 Ben's you get a custom painted box, 2 controllers, the largest hard drive that has ever been offered, a headset, and a copy of CoD:MW2. This combo pack saves you tons of money form having to buy everything separately. The only thing missing is the wireless adapter. This should be standard equipment, whether built-in internally or like the stand alone units, on at least the Elite Xbox's. In this day and age of almost everything being wifi Microsoft is dropping the ball on this. Aside from that, this is a great system; especially for someone getting their first xbox. The 2 controllers allows for a friend to play along in split screen, and the included headset is one less thing to buy for a great online gaming experience. The huge hard drive is also a great added bonus for people who play lots of games that have huge media content downoads (i.e. Forza 3, Burnout Paradise, Fallout 3). Get one while they last!!!!

I've had a 360 pro for 5 years and finally decided i wanted to upgrade to a Elite and put my pro in the bedroom. I put it off and put it off, boy am i glad i did! When i heard about this bundle i got jacked & pre-ordered it right away. I already had monster component cables for my Pro so i didn't care that it only came with composites, that shouldn't be a deal breaker. Your saving so much on this bundle that you can afford to pick up a HDMI or component. This bad boy runs so smooth it almost feels like a completely different console, maybe the XBOX 720 ;P The 250 gb hard drive is dope! They charge $170 for a 120gb, so imagine what the 250 gb will run seperately. Then you get 2 controllers & Modern Warfare 2 for just $100 more than the standard elite! Need i say more? I would highly recomend this to anyone interested in upgrading or just getting a XBOX 360.

    Total Media Package

I bought this package because my DVD player finally bit the dust and I have no interest in owning blueray. I'll just never spend north of $20 to have a movie at home, no matter how "great" it is. So it makes for a great upsampling DVD player, no disappointments there. I already had netflix but the xbox made that subscription even more valuable by allowing me to stream netflix on demand. The quality is great and I'm making more use of my netflix account now more than I ever did. Modern Warfare 2 is simply breathtaking, it makes a great first impression and really shows off what this thing can do. The xbox makes a great platform for content delivery in general. I could easily see Hulu making it's way here and other web content providers. I definitely got more bang for my buck here vs. a PS3. It doesn't replace my Wii, it complements it.

    A GREAT BUY

First time writing a review and I would like to keep it pertaining to you, the customer. First off XBOX 360 is a great gaming console (especially on XBOX LIVE). But I'm sure you already know that. I am a big fan of the regular old XBOX white color but this XBOX's custom paint is pretty descent, not tacky. It comes with Modern Warfare 2 which is a must buy for any On-line player so that covers $60 of this console costing $100 more than the elite. It also comes with a second black controller- a $50 value. So already the extra cash really is saving you money in the long run. But the saving doesn't stop there you also get a 250 GB hardrive. Thats over twice the size of any preexisting hardrive. Easy set up and excellent performance. And since its a limited edition purchase it as soon as you can so they don't run out. HAPPY SHOPPING!!

Is That An External HD I See???

Looking at XBOX 360 as my kids would like one because it has a better selection of games than our PS3(which I got a little over a year ago for BLU-RAY, mainly). So, I stumbled upon this Limited Edition by accident, while watching trailers for the new COD and thought it might be the right deal to get us into the world of sending 360's back after the RROD strikes. LOL. Then, I looked closer at the picture and the box and I believe that 'thing' above the two controllers in the photo is the Hard Drive. Is that the case??? If so, come on, the last thing I want is more clutter around my entertainment center. Not to mention that 250 GB Hard Drives can be had for a pittance. So, what's up with this thing? Is it a full 250 GB External, or a 120 GB internal and 130 External??? Or neither??? I gotta know, please answer if you know.

I have an Xbox 360 Elite and was gonna get another one, not because of any malfunction but because i have two homes and travel between them. While i was looking up the Elite to buy (which by the way DOES come with an hdmi cable) I saw this and decided to wait I mean its he elite only better right? WRONG what the review and product DONT tell you is that you have to buy either a component or hdmi cable seperate because they only put a composite set of cables in the box... now being that i got the bundle and hurried home I didnt realize this till i was already home... needless to say i was upset and am still steaming but i wont be taking it back just be forwarned you do have to buy better cables to get the most of this console... ENJOY

The Xbox 360 dose cost a little more for the same features the PS3 has. Although whats good about free online gameplay when nobody plays it. And about Wi-Fi, if you have a computer buy the wireless adapter for the PC (not the Xbox) its about $30. Connect the Xbox direcly to the router for a better connection. I have two Xbox 360s, one elite and one Halo 3 edition. I also have the old 80GB PS3 with the memory card reader. I have no games for the PS3 (Blu-Ray is its only use). Bottom line is the PS3 needs games, the Xbox has the Halo games (greatest games ever). P.S. this Xbox uses less power and has a smaller power brick than older systems. This reduces the chance for Red Ring of Death. And my old Elite got RRoD twice. Microsoft fixed it both times for FREE ($0.00) it has three year warenty.

    hopefully

After trying to set up console to the internet using the wireless adapter. Could not get xbox to "see" router. Emailed to tech/help and after waiting got an answer. They copied the procedure out of the book and sent it to me. I then tried calling . Got a very nice man from some other country. But he also tried the book procedures. I told him it would not work, but he had to try it. After it would not work, he gave up. He said that the adapter was probably bad. He suggested returning it and get the retailer to check another one before purchasing. Hello!!!! what retailer will do that. After no luck with xbox i hooked it up with a cable and all worked fine. After that I tried the adapter again and it worked great. Don't depend on xbox for tech help

First things are first, the hard drive on this baby is 250gb which is so big it's almost not needed but for the great value you cant complain. This system also includes 2 black wireless controllers, limited paint job,Modern warfare 2 factory sealed game. This system is a smooth runner equipped with a faster processor that will leave any loading screen in the dust. BUYER BEWARE: The only thing I can say bad about this package is that they don't include the data transfer kit for upgrading your HD like the standard elite package. This kit cannot be bought in stores anywhere! You have to call Microsoft and order it,took me about a week to get in the mail so not to bad. Other then that Microsoft did a great job with this bundle, thank you guys!

    XBox 360 Elite is Garbage

I have owned a PS3 and XBOX 360 elite for over 2 years. I have never had an issue with nor know anyone who has had thier PS3 fail....I am now the 7th one of my friends to have thier Xbox 360 Overheat and Fry. I am not a full time gammer and I have the device fully ventilated and I dust it out every other week. The XBOX live cost $50 a year, the Wireless Adapter is $100, and it does not play Blu-Rays....the PS3 at the same price includes everythi ng and they have Net Flix too. The PS3 is a better buy for your money and with 95% of most games available on both systems, it is not worth the heartache when your XBox 360 sytem fails 1 month after your "extended warranty" fails. DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU NEED TO HAVE AN XBOX.

Like I said, my original 360 finally died and missed my warranty by 4-months & Microsoft wanted to charge me $150 to have it repaired....No Thanks! So decided to go out and get me a new one with the Jasper chip-set in it. And WoW! what a difference, it runs much quieter and not as hot as the original 360! What better way to go, since my 360 broke a week before CODMDW2 came out, and first I was upset, but now I'm glad I chose to get a newer, quieter 360. You really can't go wrong, an extra controller, CODMW2, limited edition design, and 250 gig HDD!! Transferring all my content from my old HDD to the new HDD was a breeze as well, had a minor issue and called MS and had it up and running in a matter of minutes.
