    plug and charge

it shorted out on me one day when i was playing with it i noticed a few days before that the light was flickering on and off and to recharge it i would have to leave it in a certain position and fiddle with it. It worked great when i first got it no complaints there i usually left it plugged in when i played xbox quite frequently. I bought the plug and play although this is the play and charge kit i don't know if anything varies between them or if they just simply changed the name but i was dissapointed when it broke on me i payed 30 something for it and got maybe a years worth out of it a little too short for my liking. In addition to this i have been using regular batteries for a few weeks now and i run throught them like air. I'm goin to buy one of these tomorrow when i go and i hope this time it lasts a few years. Overall this product is solid and i hope the one that died on me was defected because some of the reviews say they have had theirs for years.

    Plug and Play...and Charge

The Play & Charge Kit is truly a must have accessory. When the charge on the battery starts to wane, all you need to do is plug it into the usb port on the Xbox 360 and continue to game. Other, stand alone chargers require you to remove the batter pack to charge, this is not feasable if you only have one battery or controller, or if you are playing with a friend, this would be embarrassing if he keeps playing because his battery is still going. My one recommendation is to include an adapter to plug into a wall outlet. Depending on your seating setup, the wall outlet next to your gaming chair may be closer than the Xbox 360 all the way in the entertainment center. At least, that is how it is for me. Still, a GREAT BUY!

Xbox 360 seems to focus on the ease of use and wireless capabilities, which is good, but at times it can be a pain. During these times, I am glad that they have came up with a backup plan! + This little cord and battery makes gaming a dream, when it works that is. I have purchased a few of these already and two of them have been faulty. I don't know if it was just a fluke, or if they are just poorly created, but it has been kind of irritating. The one that I have that works, is awesome though. + I love being able to play without wires in my way, and I love that when you do have to be "wired", you are actively charging your controller back to full life! That is a really nice feature I think. + Not a plethora of things to touch on with this item, but it is very nice to have if you do a large amount of gaming and hate to waste all your video game buying money on batteries! Just be sure that it charges within your first thirty days of buying!

An excellent alternative to buying batteries

The Play & Charge Kit is definitely a great buy for any Xbox gamer. Pay just $20 now and then never have to worry about buying batteries again. It comes with a battery pack and a charging USB cord. It's as easy as plugging in the cord to both the console and the controller, and you're set! However, I've found that sometimes, if you don't charge it fully, the battery does not hold a very long charge, so you have to spend more time wired to the system. Also, if you charge while the console is off, it keeps the fan running on your Xbox. So it's probably best to only charge it while you're playing. These are minor complaints though; any Xbox owner should have this. Trust me, the money you'll save on batteries in the long run is most definitely worth it.

    Best Deal

This is a great product for the Xbox 360, because the 360 focuses on wireless capability, and sometimes the wireless capability gets in the way of gaming because of batteries. This fixes that problem. This product, however create a problem. You cannot just buy a cord, like you can with the batteries. You have to buy the whole new system. I have bought it 3 times in the past year because of the cord...not the battery. I would buy this because of it's convenience, but if you can...wait and buy the charging station that charges 2 batteries in 8 hours, or 1 in 4 hours. It is only 10 dollars more though. I am personally taking my last one back (if I find the receipt), and buying the $30 quick charge one.

i thought this was a good buy. my friend even went out and bought one after i did. when i bought my xBox i would change batteries all the time and it really got bothersome i can only imagine how much people spend on batteries alone if they dont own this. i think microsoft should make this come with a wireless control. if your going to spend that much on a controller anyway you might as well get this with it. the only thing i dont like is the cord when im playing. thats the reason why i have wireless controllers so there's no cord but for the short time i use it i can live with it. im actually thing about buyin the quick charge pack to see if i like that more

Good for 7 months, now won't hold a charge

Well, after 7 months my batteries no longer hold a charge for more than 30 minutes. Even from Day 1 they never lasted as long as the description stated, but if I got a day of playing I was happy. The thing is I am not a hardcore player thats using the batteries constantly. I play a few times a week. I noticed lately that times between recharge was getting lower and lower until lately I've switched back to regular batteries. I will buy another one, but this problem is more common than you think. On many Xbox boards you'll see lots of posts about this happening after a few months. Hopefully my next batch last longer

    A Must Have

The name tells it all, play and charge simultaneously. This is one of the best purchases you can make for the Xbox 360, because standard AA batteries may last longer, but they hurt long term. The fact that it has a usb port means that if you have a computer, you can charge it there. The ability to charge the controller even when the 360 is off is one of the best reasons to buy it because you can charge it overnight and the next day its ready to be played. Even though for a few hours its wired, if your patient than you'll be back to wireless in no time. Overall its a great product.

Perfect for those with wireless controllers

This product is a must buy for those who insist on using a wireless controller. Personally I recieved my Xbox 360 with a wireless controller and it ate up 8 AA batteries within a month which at that rate would cost me about 64 dollars a year on batteries. The play and charge kit eliminates that factor for only $19.99. The battery can be charged as you play so no accidental disconnected controllers in the middle of gameplay and a full charge of the battery lasts 25 hours which is a lot of gameplay. This kit is required for those who wish to save a lot of money on Batteries.

Nice not having to buy batteries

This is a pretty good product, its very easy to use and its better then buying batteries all the time but i have had problems with the cord. After a few months the cord seems like it shorts out of something. It will need to be in a certain position to charge and then after a while wwont charge at all. If your looking at finding a way to not have to buy batteries all the time, do what i do. I bought some rechargable batteries and they are nice and last longer than the play and charge kit, and are cheaper too.

    Does Its Job

There is not a whole lot to say about such a product other than the fact that it does its job. Nobody likes to replace AA batteries, so this will eliminate the need. All you have to do is hook the controller up to this cord to recharge, and you can play while you charge it, as the name implies. The only drawbacks are its $20 price tag and the fact that, like all rechargable batteries, after many many charges, it will start to not last as long. If you want a rechargable battery for your controller, this is your answer :)

    Awesome Purchase

This is a great purchase because it saves so much money from buying batteries. I have had mine for such a long time, and it still works great. I usually leave my xbox on when I am doing something else, and when I come back its charged. The cord isnt that bad of a problem because you don't need to charge it all the time. YOU CAN STILL USE YOUR HEADSET WHILE ITS CHARGING, (just in case you werent sure). In general, it was a great purchase, and a good price, considering it saves so much money.

When you think about buying this product, think of all the times that you may be playing your favorite game online, when all of a sudden the lights on your controller start spinning. You're thinking I'll just let it go because I don't want to lose so I'll change them after then...then...uh oh...your controller shuts off & you frantically run around the hosue searching for batteries before you lose. Yeah, you won't have to worry about that anymore. If you forget to recharge, you can charge while you play... a real winner

    Mandatory Wireless Controller Add-On

    Posted
    DanielP

I would not recommend using a xbox 360 wireless controller without this charger and battery. This allows worry free operation of the xbox controller. After you are done playing, simply plug in the controller to the xbox, and next time you would like to play, you have a fully charged, ready to go, controller. With this, you never have to worry about batteries running out in the middle of playing. I highly recommend this product, and personally would not use a 360 controller without this.

I thought this purchase would save me money, but..

I bought this play and charge kit so I would not have to throw away tons of money on batteries every month. At first it worked great. However, after having it for about three months the battery pack stopped holding a charge. I can still use the cable provided to charge the battery pack and it will power my controller, however this takes away my wireless capabilities. If I wanted a wired controller I would have bought a wired controller. This was definitely a disapointing purchase.

you have to have one of these so when your controller dies out you can just plug it right in. you can also configure your 360 to continue to fully charge it even when you turn it off. that means when you turn it back on it will be good to go. not everyone has a bunch of controllers fully charged and can just switch off. the cord isn't very heavy so wireless to wired you shouldnt notice much. you should have at least one of these.

ok if you don't mind cords

this cord definately charges the battery, but just as others have stated, it kills the batteries ability to hold a charge. this is because it doesn't condition the battery like a standalone charger would. I can't decide if it is because the cord is bad, or the battery, or both, but it never gives me a green light to say that it is fully charged, but the standalone charger does. spend the extra couple bucks and buy the standalone unit.

Must have accessory for the 360

The play and charge saves you money because the charge lasts longer than typical batteries and you don't have to keep buying batteries. In the middle of a game it is easy to just plug the controller into your xbox if you see that the battery is low. The play and charge plugs into the usb port on the 360. One small downside is that it makes the front of the controller heavier, offsetting the weight balance, but it is not noticeable while playing.

I can honestly say this is a great product. The idea is great since it charges batteries while you play and when the batteries are charged, you can go wireless. One great thing about this product is that I use it as a universal battery charger. When I am low on batteries, I use the play and charge kit to recharge all of my batteries to save money from buying new ones, and I can use the batteries for whatever else electronic I need.

The battery life is really quite long even after a few years. I probably get at minimum 12 or so hours of non-stop playtime- probably longer than that. You get a great value for the plug and play kit (though you should need only one unless you play a lot of local multiplayer games). This is also very durable I have had it since a few weeks after the initial release of the 360 and have had zero problems with it.
