The XBOX One Elite controller is worth the money.....yes I said it. When playing with the controller it feels awesome in the hands. If you are an avid gamer then this controller is for you. It has a different finish on it for those times when you get sweaty in PVP lol. You can tell the materials used in making this controller and it's construction are definitely above par when it comes to the standard XBOX One controllers. Also the paddles and short trigger throws allow you to always keep your thumbs on the sticks. Only disappointing this for me was the fact that they couldn't include a rechargeable battery at this price tag....

Love the controller. The ability to customize the sticks, d-pads and trigger locks is fantastic. Build quality is the best I've ever held. Slightly heavier than the standard but the feel is worth it. The paddles on the back take some time getting used to but they're a real life saver in a FPS once you get the hang of them. Battery life seems the same as the standard. It does have custom settings in the software for multiple games and you can save custom controller profiles if you really want to get that into it. Only Con I wish it came with a rechargable battery although it does work with the play and charge kit.

I had some gift card money to burn on something I normally wouldn't buy, and this fit the bill. Really glad I got it. - Build quality is excellent - Feel of the controller is just right to my hands - Extra buttons change the whole way you play games - Even though I ended up staying with most of the defaults, the software customization for things like stick acceleration curve is nice to have. I actually did appreciate the fact I could turn down the brightness of the Xbox button because I play in a pitch-black home theater, and the normal controller's bright button is sometimes distracting.

It was a nicer controller than the PowerA brands......however within a few months the usb plug slot broke, analog sticks would stick(see photo), analog stick drifts, and the shoulder buttons broke. Warranty is 90 days right? Thats because it breaks soon after that. Left holding a $150 dollar peice of junk. Its Microsoft that is the problem. Have never had a problem with PS controllers(any other console for that matter), however the Microsoft made, XBOX controllers do not last. Come on Microsoft.

Excellent, responsive controller. Comes with a built-in textured grip, which alleviates the need to add a grip for most players. The programmable triggers work great, and are a solid improvement for shooters. The interchangeable paddles work great, but I don't use them as they get in the way of my tight grip. The controller has a very solid, high quality feel, and is a nice heavy weight. The built in headphone adapter is also a must. The case is also high quality, and protects the controller and holds the extra buttons and paddles. All parts have a very quality built feel. Especially if you play a variety of games including shooters and driving games this controller is great with the ability to customize the paddle and trigger performance. Overall a great wireless controller.

I can't believe best buy sent me this trash. Check out the pictures. I literally just opened the box and pulled it out like this. This is OPEN BOX-EXCELLENT condition. It's missing the rubber on the handles! and the thumbsticks look like they've been worn off. You can see the dirt from the previous owner. This had to be one of the worse purchases that i've ever made. This would have been an extremely embarrassing gift to someone. WOW

Here's some key information I received or wish I received before buying the controller: 1) This controller is not for everyone. Not only does it cost a lot, but you really don't need all of the customization and features if you're someone who just casually plays games here and there. I've used it for about a month now and can say that since I play FPS like Black Ops 3 frequently, it ups your game big time. Especially since you can hit the left paddle and hit jump shots or slide away from a firefight with the right paddle 2) On this topic, the way it's set up, it's very very difficult to use all 4 paddles and not hit the bottom two accidentally. I don't know how you play a game that requires you to grip the controller firmly and not accidentally press the buttons. If you're okay with only two paddles, you'll enjoy the controller. If you want all four for some reason (which I don't think you'll need), maybe look at Scuff who has a different paddle arrangement. 3) I used SCUF controllers in the past and I definitely have to say that this Microsoft controller gives you bang for your buck. The equivalent features on Scuff would have ran me over $200 and didn't come with a case or replaceable thumbsticks. I prefer this controller over the Scuff in all honesty (when using two paddles) 4) Overall, the controller has a premium feel to it and although it sounds crazy to spend $150 on a controller, you definitely feel like you paid for a $150 controller. It ups your game big time if you know how to use the paddles and hair triggers strategically. Also, using the heightened right thumbstick is HUGE in FPS. 5) I would recommend this controller to all of my Xbox one friends. Every friend that sees it can't help but say wow when they just pick it up. If you have the cash, I recommend getting the controller. Also recommend getting the two year warranty for peace of mind in case you run into any issues.

I'm an old school game (meaning from the 2600 era) and I've purchased many controllers. This is my favorite to date. It's not cheap, but it is comfortable and customizable. I really like it, and the rubber grips are a big improvement over the standard model. I also like the mappable triggers. They makes specials much easier given that I'm not in my teens anymore.

    Xbox Elite Controller; Exceeded Expectations

I admit it, I am an old gamer, not particularly fond of online gaming but completely appreciative of precision, quality and performance which is why I selected the Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller. I read my share of reviews prior to my purchase, many saying to not waste the money on such a "well constructed and great performing" controller if i wasn't a professional gamer. To be completely honest I probably wouldn't have purchased the Elite if I didn't have a BestBuy gift card - it made the purchase much more guilt free. I digress... This is an exceptional piece of hardware! It has a quality weight and feel to it. The triggers, along with the hair-trigger feature, feel and act responsive. It is easy to customize with the Accessory App and possesses the ability to maintain 2 settings accessible with a switch located under the Xbox home button. After the solid construction of the 360 controllers I was surprised that the XboxOne controllers felt of a lesser quality - just my opinion - so the solid-state feel of the Elite was a welcomed feature. My criticisms (and the reason for losing a star) is how easily the rear paddles can fall off. They are secured by magnets and seem easy to unintentionally detach from the controller. Also for the money there probably should have been a rapid-fire option. Final criticism - batteries? Why not a rechargeable battery pack? Come on MS... you added a nice braided USB cord but settled for Duracells? So I'm very happy with the Elite and would recommend to anyone who loves and appreciates console gaming.

High quality and fully customizable with removable sticks, pad and flippers on back, which are easily removed being magnitized. Very durable and comfortable. Little on high price but worth it. Comes with a nice travel case and cord. Triggers are lockable for shorter pull activation. Get the genuine xbox one battery kit. Aftermarket batteries won't work unless controller chissled.

Best gaming controller I've ever used

I bought this controller for the built quality, and the first thing i noticed is that they fixed the bumpers, they feel much better and easier to press. Also the grips in the back feel great and the analog sticks feel so smooth when rotating them around. the paddles, analog sticks and the hair triggers were just a bonus. I did not really care for the extra features at first, but after using the tall analog sticks, and the back paddles,i don't think i can go back to my standard controller, they really do make a difference. I never used a scuff or any kind of modded controller so i did not know how the tall analog sticks would feel, i have small hands so I thought that it wasn't going to feel comfortable.I played for an hour to test them out, after two games I had already gotten used to them, they felt pretty great for me, I never went back to my standard analog stick, at least for my aiming one i still use the standard analog stick on the left for movement. I use one paddle in the back for jumping, and it took me longer to get used to,but after I did it was just a game changer for me. I love the paddles. now i can jump and aim at the same time which really helps when i'm in a gunfight. So my conclusion is that this is an amazing controller and I would definitely recommend this to the hardcore gamer's who play shooters. For me it was worth every penny.

I've never seen such care and attention to detail go into a console controller before. From the moment you pick it up you can tell it's high quality. It has a good weight to it, and the triggers and analog sticks are super responsive and feel very sturdy. And then you get into the customization, which is nothing short of phenomenal. Just about every part of the controller can be switched out for other parts (that are all included). Everything can be modified on this controller, from the number of buttons (you can add 4 new ones to the back if you choose), to the analog sticks and even the D-Pad. And it all comes with a nice case to protect it and a super long braided charge cable. Totally worth the high price in my opinion.

Like most read reviews and having tried most controllers out wanted to see how good this would compare to a scuf. The build quality is awesome and the extra weight on the controller makes it feel like it's worth the $150 admission price. That being said, the standard updated XBox One controller (the one with the 3.5mm headphone/mic jack) is already a nice controller. If you don't need the extra features that the elite offers (swappable analog stick pads, swappable D-pad surface, toggle keys on the back of the controller, 1/2 stop on the L1/R1 buttons), then save your money. Otherwise, once you try it out, you might not want to go back.

A great solid controller made with aluminum and rubber. Fully configurable sticks and d-pad, additional paddles on the back and adjustable trigger lengths. Re-mappable buttons through the accessories app. I personally have assigned pressing the thumb sticks to the paddles along with a few other buttons that are hard to press at the same time. The only down side was that it doesn't come with a rechargeable battery, my energizer one fit but the energizer cover didn't as they change the design of the back panel. Only the official play and charge kit fits the controller with a closing panel.

I had the Lunar Controller that ended up with a broken bumper. So I decided to shell out the cash for this beast. Love the build quality, better weighted, better grips, better controller. I only have two annoyances with this that could make it perfect in my mind. First is the case it comes with does not fit well when you have the tall sticks on the controller and the usb chord stored in the top pocket of the case. Second is while the triggers can be game changers when configured right. Getting them configured right can be alot of trial and error finding the right setup for you. And if you are buying this controller expecting to get 4 additional buttons out of this controller, be warned... The triggers can only mimic existing buttons. I am ok with that as it would change the games based on the controller is this was the case. But I would like to see the option to have triggers setup to be multi-key presses (trigger 1 = A+B together would be an example) and also the ability to emulate short press or long press of a button (trigger 2 = long press A as an example). I recommed a a service replacement plan on this controller. My warranty was only good for 90 days from purchase, any issue after that would require me to buy a new one. Xbox doesnt do reports on controllers, only replacements when covered.

I have been using the elite controller for 6 months. I was worried about wear and tear because some early adopter reviews were warning about stitching on grips coming loose and stick drift. I am a relatively heavy gamer and this controller is solid. Its heft is noticeable when compared to a regular controller but it is all relative and feels natural pretty quickly. I also always use it with the chatpad. As for use, its selling features are the hair triggers, button re-mapping and paddle customization. This controller is not made to disappoint and I am very satisfied with its performance. How many paddles you use depends on the patience you have to learn new muscle memory. At first, the paddles will feel foreign and if you expect to use them right away competitively you will be frustrated. I recommend messing around with it and build muscle memory using a combo of paddle configurations that suits you - then go wreck your opponents!

In my opinion, this is absolutely the best XBox One controller you can get short of modding your own -- and possibly even then! Being a tinkerer and a techie, I have been adding buttons to the back of my own controllers since the original "black brick" Xbox (almost 15 years ago!) and would never go back to using a controller without added buttons on the back. That being said, after picking up one of these Elite XBox One controllers, I no longer use my own self-modded controllers. Yes, the paddles took a little while for me to get used to, especially since my self-modded controllers could have the buttons EXACTLY where I wanted them, but the overall build quality of this Elite controller is miles ahead of the regular controllers and I just can't go back to them, even the ones I modded myself. There is a textured grip of cross-hatching which feels sublime in your hands. The weight on this baby is absolutely perfect -- it's far heavier than the standard plastic controller, and in my opinion that is a GOOD thing. The heft adds stability, allowing me more precise movement with the thumbsticks. As mentioned, the paddles take some getting used to, but once you do you'll absolutely love them -- they are quick, responsive, and always activate when you hit them. My only criticism would be that they might be a tad *too* sensitive, as I often accidentally hit them when trying to set the controller down on the table or putting my hand back on the controller after scratching an itch. I personally don't use the trigger stops very much, but I can see where they would come in handy for certain types of games and they are built well -- the stop feels very solid and does not feel like it will break with continued use. The per-button programming is relatively simple and intuitive, and the ability to save two button configurations to the controller and switch between them on-the-fly is quite nice. I also don't really use any of the additional/replaceable parts, but the "wow" factor of having interchangeable parts (and the possibility of new ones in the future) is pretty sweet. Yes, this is one expensive controller, but if you have the money and you play a lot, I think you'll find it worth it. The Elite controller may be BEST suited towards hardcore, professional gamers, but I honestly think that anyone who plays more than a few hours a week would appreciate the better build quality of this Elite controller and find it worth the price in the long run. I certainly did, and I was very skeptical when I bought it since I modded my own controllers to my own taste, but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised and love my Elite controller!

This controller is no joke. It is a solid well built controller and takes gaming to a new level. It can be configured just about anyway you could want and is precise and smooth. Gaming is a great pass time and its nice to see accessories taking the next step in improving the quality of the gaming experience. The controller is very comfortable with smooth surfaces and rubberized grips. The extra weight has not been an issue. The hair trigger is my favorite feature. I can get shots off quicker. I would give it five stars if it was a few dollars less and came with a rechargeable batter. I suppose that's not fair seeing as how I purchased it and enjoy using it, so what the heck I'll give it another star.
