The elite is expensive, comes in one color, and feels heavy in the hand....but it is a great controller for all of that.

This is a really nice feeling controller. It is wider than the normal standard issue one and has a grip and nice heavy weight. I like the interchangeable sticks and buttons. The paddles are a good idea, but for me I have large hands where they just are not feature I use. The ability to change the length of the triggers are awesome especially for playing shooter games like Battlefield 1.

This is a great controller the only downside is that there is not a rechargeable battery pack for it yet, and the price.

I have large powerful hands.... the normal xbox controllers last roughly six months with the way I torque and twist them while playing. The elite is such a better build and has stood up to my rough treatment. Is it worth the price of two normal controllers? Well once you toss the 4 paddles and full mapping YES!

I love this controller but I can't quite recommend it to anybody who doesn't have the cash available to throw away. Unless you absolutely need the added functionality of the paddles, it's mostly just a really nice feeling controller and not much else. I love having mine but I can't quite recommend it to most people.

This controller I purchased over 2 years ago for my PC when playing racing games, fighters, and certain RPGs, and I can say its very well built holds up well! it took a little to get used to the paddles but once that was done it was a dream!

Ignoring the high price, there's a lot to like about this controller. Rubberized grips, nice adjustable thumbsticks, terrific D-pad (perhaps a little too sensitive, but nothing serious). As an older gamer, this controller solves one usability issue in most first-person games: Sprinting.
Generally, one would press DOWN on the left thumbstick to sprint. This can be awkward, and depending on the game, you may not get instant feedback. So, the normal human reaction is to press harder, and press again. Over a long gaming session, you'll have a serious hand cramp. With the elite controller, I can simply map "Sprint" to the left-hand under-controller buttons (fingers 4 and 5), which allows for easy sprinting just by squeezing the controller. Simpler, easier, and less crampy. If you're a pianist, or very adept, you could map fingers 4 and 5 under the controller on each side, giving you 4 new shortcuts. But, it's easier for me to deal with the 4 underside buttons as a single 4+5 finger button. FYI, these underside triggers are easy to remove from the controller completely, if you wish. And honestly, a couple of them have fallen out from time to time, but they are easily re-inserted.
One other minor downside: if you set this controller down on an uneven surface, say a pillow, your underside button levers can be easily mis-triggered. Careful out there after mapping.

I've been playing Xbox for over 15 years and this is better than any controller I've used. It's heavy duty making it more stable in the hands. The grips have a comfortable rubber that doesn't slip from sweating. The paddles on the back are a big advantage in any multiplayer game. Definitely worth the money.

The controller is great. Feels nice, gripped back, good weight, customizable buttons and additional paddles, interchangeable thumbsticks.
Is it worth $150? If you have the money to spend, yes. Otherwise stick with the $40 standard.
