Amazing Controller

This controller is definitely worth getting. a little heavier than other controllers but you can feel the difference in quality because of the weight. It has gray grip on the handles also. Only negative thing i can say is the paddle on the back side of the controller sometimes gets in the way. Other than that its a nice controller.

This controller has good weight, feels solid. Multiple pads and sticks to customize the feel. You ac have multiple controller configurations on this controller. Change between two with the flip of a switch. Using the back "buttons" on the bottom of the controller takes some practice. But this is the best controller I have used.

Same old heavy design, introduction of backpedals convenient, have a learning curve/take getting use to, but once muscle memory is achieved it can improve gameplay by freeing up your thumbs. Works well in FPS games.
Still requires batteries, so I no longer have this, I use a Series 2 Elite as it has a built in battery & lasts longer.
If you're thinking of buying this in 2021, just buy the Series 2 Elite controller. Smaller, more ergonomic, internal, longer lasting battery, and overall more durable.

I was skeptical about paying $150 for a controller but you can really feel the difference between this and a regular controller. The thumb pad makes it so much easier for gaming.

First off, the packaging and build quality of this controller is top notch. There's just no doubt about it that Microsoft did a bang up job in both categories. For $150.00, you're going to expect the best, and when you open the box and marvel over the controller in its shell case, you're going to be impressed.
You'll be even more impressed once you get your hands on the controller; it's a marvel. It's d-pad is a godsend and its trigger locks and paddles are wonderful--in fact, I have to wonder if these might be standard with future consoles released by Microsoft or Sony (if not the paddles, then the trigger locks).
So why only 4 stars? As much as I love this controller, I don't really feel that it gives you an edge with competitive gaming--and that's how it's marketed.
Also, the d-pad magnet has a nasty habit of coming attached when pressed too far, which is likely to happen in the heat of the moment.

I'll start by saying you don't need this controller at all. It's just a "what if" experiment by Microsoft to build the ultimate console controller.
That being said, if you can afford it and a BB replacement plan, it is worth every penny.
sidenote: if you have enough for an elite you can trade your original Xbox one and with the $149 be able to just buy an Xbox one S which would be a better use of the funds.
Pros
Aluminum Sticks and Triggers
Modular
Back paddles
Rubber grip
Cons
Not Bluetooth like new one S controller
You will likely only use one set of back paddles because of their placement
Certain Components have the same build quality as the standard controller ( get the 2 yr replacement)

Love this controller because of all the customizations you can do with mapping. Bought the halo attachments and I prefer those paddles better than the ones it came with becuase they are smaller :) fantastic!

For true gamers, love the extra weight gives a great feel and is made very well, I purchased extended warranty, I have heard the paddles on the bottom do break so a little extra warranty wouldn't hurt!

The Microsoft Xbox Elite controller is a nice controller...the buttons respond better and feel nicer than the standard wireless controller. The only real downside is that you must have Windows 10 in order to program the button functions. I'd say the price tag should be closer the $100 range than $150, if it were I'd given it 4 stars.

Probably the most comfortable controller I've used in 30 years of gaming. Hefty, good grip, magnetic paddles and thumbsticks. Only negative is that it doesn't work well with my headset. Consider checking that yours is compatible, but otherwise, go for it.

If you play games a couple hours a week this is not your controller. But if your on hours a day then this is the controller for your stable. It provides positive feed back right out of the box with out any fine tuning. It offers the ability to change out the thumb sticks to 3 different types of hights and styles of the concave on the pad of the thumb stick. Then you have the d-pads that offer two options to your choosing which is a normal universal pad and then a full circle d pad. Both of the two are mad out of a aluminum type of material. Then theirs the stops on the back side for the triggers and then their custom paddles that you can add custom assignments to In the controller custom setting in the xbl menu.
