Yes it is expensive but you get your moneys worth. The frame is built heavier and the controller just feels amazing. The custom paddles and analog sticks let you customize it to the way you play. I play a lot of shooting games (call of duty, gears of war, halo 5) and once you get the hang of the paddles they are awesome. They were sold out and had it on back order for a month but great gift for someone as well.

This has to be the best controller I've ever owned. There are dozens of customization options, the controller feels amazing, and the options are limitless.
The only cons I have: 1) It's a bit too expensive, but these types of controllers are usually a lot of money. 2) It doesn't have a rechargeable battery. Very small cons, though.

The power behind the controller is phenomenal.
Forgetting the customization app on Xbox for a moment. This controller isn't a normal one to begin with.
Between the interchangeable analog sticks, detachable bumpers, and ability to change the range of the triggers, this controller already gives you the freedom to make this controller your own and fit to your preferred comfort with ease.
Throw back in the customization app on Win10 and Xbox and now you've unlocked the controller's full potential.
Button mapping, ability to send 2 layouts to the controller, customization for analog stick responsiveness are only a few options at your disposal to fine tune to controller to your absolute preference.
If every detail on this sense as a gamer matters to you, this app is everything for the controller.
With that said, this isn't something you buy for yourself or another if they are casual gamers. This controller is made for those who take every aspect of how to play a game into consideration.

This is a very good controller. The paddles and adjustable stick lengths make a noticeable difference when playing online competitive games. The controller weighs more than the normal xbox one controller. You can save two preset button assignments to the paddles that are switchable by a button on the controller. You can make more than two presets but you need to assign them using the xbox software.

This controller is solid. I love the design and how sturdy it is. I love being able to switch the buttons in seconds with the magnetic connectors. I have it customized to my liking. I love having the extra triggers on the back. I have it set up for different games so I don't ever have to take my thumbs off the sticks. I would say if you are a gamer and you want a nice controller you can customize to your liking and never have to worry about breaking... Buy this! So worth the extra money.

In my opinion this controller is the BEST ever designed up to now. They have a solid weight, exchangeable parts, rubber under front of controller for non-slipping. I also use them on my PC. They have taken a beating from me already but they are still performing as new. I guess you usually get what you pay for & in this instant I found the price to be well inline with the product. Game!

This controller will help in any game where taking your thumbs off the joysticks slows you down. Sure the price is a tad out there, but the features of this controller, and overall strength of this controller make it worth it. Comes in a wonderful protective case. With extra goodies. Normal double A batteries last a good amount of time. And the amount of customization through the Xbox Accessories App already on the Xbox help make any game or play style perfect. Highly recommended.

Make no mistake, this is a super expensive controller. To that end, it's very well built. I can't say if the build quality directly relates to the cost, however. My reason for buying this had more to do with the features. I wanted to utilize the paddle buttons and adjustable triggers. The two trigger buttons have a physical half stop that you can enable, however this backfired on some games for me that look for a full range of motion. There are 4 optional paddle switches on the bottom you can engage. All buttons / functions are configurable within the app on the Xbox, and it's very thorough. The controller comes with a case and different size thumb sticks, D-pad and paddles. I'm not a hardcore gamer, so I cannot attest to the long term reliability. I can tell you it's heavy and solid. Also, this has vibration in the triggers as well as the standard feedback motors. I don't recall that feature on my standard controller. That feature, if left on high, helps blow through batteries exceedingly fast.

Hey there,
Thanks for checking out the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller. If battery life is a concern, we suggest getting the Xbox One Play & Charge Kit, which is a rechargeable pack that offers up to 30 hours of battery life on a single charge and recharges in fewer than four hours. You can even recharge it while gaming! Check it out on Best Buy here: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/microsoft-xbox-one-play-charge-kit-black/9008298.p?skuId=9008298
Hope that helps, Chuck Xbox Customer Care

This is a awesome controller, fits and feels better in the hand then other controllers. Love the customization in the controller, love the quick trigger makes spamming the right trigger for rapid fire easy, little travel distance.
Cons: Expensive, When I first got the controller the right trigger felt sticky when you had the quick trigger on, I had to play around with it and break it in, now it doesn't stick.
Overall great controller, a must have if you have the money.

While I did enjoy this controller for what it was; a premium product with more customization than the standard xbox one controller offered, I did not find the price to be up to par with what you get. One of the main reasons, is that I primarily bought this for pc use, and while support is great right out of the box, this controller is the most premium line of controllers that microsoft offers but it does not have bluetooth support. What that means is that if you want to use this controller untethered, then you have to purchase a separate adapter that also runs you somewhere in the ballpark of 20 dollars. So even though microsofts more basic offerings have bluetooth support right out of the box at a much more admiral price, this one does not. That being said, this controller is great, it feels nice, I like being able to swap my profiles on the fly and have greatly changed how I play some games that I just could not imagine playing in another way with a standard controller. Really makes a difference to how a game feels when you don't have to wrestle with the controller to get it what you need to do, and being able to always have your thumbs on the camera control in third person games is a huge bonus!

I originally purchased this controller as I was having issues with the audio output of the controller that came with the Xbox One X. Initially I was reluctant to spend this much money on a game controller, but after learning the paddles, adjusting the thumb sticks, and choosing a controller configuration for the games, it was nearly impossible to go back. The core feature for me is the paddles, which allow you to use the analog sticks while using your fingers with the paddles to use face buttons. The swappable sticks and adjustable throw on the triggers is just icing on the cake. If you're going to drop $500 on a game console, you might as well go all in for a controller that matches the performance. I knock off a star because for this price I'd like to see a rechargeable battery, and the fact that the controller doesn't use the standard headphone/mic pins (can't use my Beats Studios with the provided cable, need a 3rd party cable).

I love the weight of it and I have pretty big hands and feels very comfortable in them. Just wish it would have been a little wider at the base. I like the fact that you can customization it and set your button mapping for the paddles. The extra speed on the thumb sticks really does make a huge difference in game play.
I will say if you have the money it is worth it, however you are not going to play any better with it. It is more customization in hand.

The Xbox One Elite controller definitely feels higher quality than the typical controllers. It is pretty steep at $150, but I justified the price point by being able to use it for PC games as well. The paddles take some getting used to, and I wish you could map at least 2 button presses to them, but they can be helpful so you don't have to take you hands off the sticks. Swapping out the sticks is quick and easy. I like being able to have a lower stick on the left and a high stick on the right for aiming. All in all a good buy if you've got the cash.

I have always liked the design and feel of the Xbox controller, but the Elite takes it to the next level. The look and weight of the controller instills confidence that it is a well made product. I love the ability to map the various inputs on the device. The four extra paddles on the back of the controller, allow me added features to take advantage of during my gameplay. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing this item!

I purchased this controller because my standard one had the left stick sensor stop working. I wanted to try the paddles and figured the steel sticks wouldn't wear as much. This controller has a much better build feel to it, likely from all the softer touch surfaces. The only downside to all the better materials is that this controller feels heavy. What I wasn't expecting was all the customization that I get with the companion app, from button mapping, different stick movement profiles, dimming the amount of light the home button produces, vibration amplitude set by each motor, and changing the trigger profiles. It took me a long time to get used to the paddles, but now I'm not sure I could play without them. One thing I wish was different is the switch to change the trigger to a hair trigger. I thought it would reduce the trigger throw to 50% or less, but it only reduces it to about 80%. Overall, very solid controller that should last the remainder of my ownership of this Xbox One.

Honestly the best all around controller I have used. All of the extra paddles give you an endless amount of customization, along with the Xbox app. You can set 2 different, saved, presets for different games on the controller itself. It feels extremely well built. You realize the difference in quality when going from the Elite back to the normal controller. Highly recommended product if you play everyday!

The Elite controller is easily the best controller out there for any console. Has such a premium feel to it. Highly customizable and the paddles on the back afford a new dimension to playing games. While entirely optional I do suggest playing around with the paddles. It may take a little bit getting used to using the paddles in conjunction with the other buttons but once you do it's an absolute blast. Definitely recommend.
