A nice improvement over the Xbox 360 controller

Bought this to replace a wired Xbox 360 Controller. The overall feel of the controller has noticeably improved—among other things, the triggers are properly damped and much quieter, the D-pad is far more precise and has positive click feedback, and the A/B/X/Y face buttons are much more legible. The controller works just as an Xbox 360 Controller would on every game I've tested. There are also lots of new features in the Xbox One Controller, but you'll need to be running Windows 10 version 1607 or later to get full functionality. The Bluetooth features enables use with any Bluetooth-enabled Windows 10 system (version 1607 or later). It also works with devices running recent versions of Android (though you may need to update the firmware using the Windows 10 Xbox Accessories app). On older systems, you'll need to use the wireless adapter or a USB cable. However, as convenient as Bluetooth may be, using the wireless adapter provides certain advantages. Since it uses the native Xbox One Controller protocol, you'll get lower latency and the ability to connect up to eight controllers on the same adapter. On Windows 10 systems, the adapter also enables the use of headsets and other accessories with the controller, just as with the Xbox One console. Overall, this is a marked improvement over the Xbox 360 Controller. Although it's disappointing that Microsoft does not support the more advanced features on older versions of Windows, the essentials work on any reasonably current system and it's a worthwhile purchase even if you're not running Windows 10.

I'd been using a PS3 controller on my PC with some 3rd party hacks for many years. I didn't know what I was missing. The XBone controller is so much better than the PS3 controller, I can hardly believe it. The analog sticks are more accurate and have smaller dead spots. The controller fits in my hand properly. And, even though it looks weird, the asymmetrical analog stick locations are certainly more comfortable. Best of all, in Windows it "Just works." There are no hacks or dodgy device drivers that need to be installed, and all of the Windows games I've tried with the controller identify their controls with the proper button labels for the XBox controller. My only gripes with the controller are that it doesn't have motion controls (aiming with the controller this way is great on my Switch) and that the BAYX buttons are backward from the Nintendo standard ABXY layout that I've been using for 30 years, which means I'm constantly cancelling when I mean to accept in game menus.

Mainly purchased this because I was able to get the controller and PC adapter for less than the cost of a standard Xbox One Controller alone - it was like getting the adapter for free plus saving a couple of bucks. The controller works as expected on my Xbox One and if I should ever use Steam or some other service to buy the type of PC game that would play well with a controller, could see it being fun to play via a PC too. Adapter self installed, and you can sync between PC and XBox One just like you would expect, but I don't really have any PC games that lend themselves to a controller. Again, bought mainly for having another controller for my Xbox One.

The Wireless Adapter for PC is exactly what I needed to get a connection to my custom built PC. I bought the controller and adapter combo because it ended up being a great deal for the two, honestly all I really needed however, was the wireless adapter for Windows. The Xbox controllers are my favorite controllers so that was an easy decision, not to mention Windows 10 seems to work flawlessly with this setup in my case. I bought this setup mainly to play racing games and GTA V, for shooters I am strictly a mouse and keyboard player. All in all I cannot think of one negative thing to say about this hardware, everything is 100% and I am very pleased with this purchase.

    Great Wireless Controller

This is a great wireless controller that can be used on your PC. Personally I had a problem with two different ones I tried. If there is anything between the controller and USB adapter, like your computer is on your desk, but your hands are resting on your lap below your desk, it'll disconnect. Also, if the controller and USB adapter are too close together or any other wireless stuff is near it (like my wireless mouse), it'll disconnect. Otherwise, once you learn where to keep them for optimal wireless signal, everything is great!

Works Well, But Should Be Rechargeable

This controller works very well with my computer. No problems with the syncing or the signal cutting out between the adapter and the controller. However, it takes AA batteries. This is the only big electronic device I own that still takes batteries and the only device that takes AA. I therefore have to buy batteries just for this. Get with the times Microsoft. Sony has had rechargeable controllers since the PS3, it is pathetic that the Xbox One controllers still need batteries.

I love the USB dongle system, I have wireless headphones that I use while gaming on my PC that use the same system, and I would keep them even if they became outdated if the next generation system doesn't use a USB system to maintain its wireless usability without having to use batteries. Just blog in a micro-USB cable into the designated port, use it while it's charging, and then remove the cord after it finishes charging fully.....I love that I don'thave to remove them or put my controller down when I go to check on other tasks in completing.

I bought this to replace my old wired xbox 360 controller for my PC. The wireless adapter works perfectly and allows me to talk to my online friends through the controller's audio port instead of using a port on my PC. I was also looking at the PS4 bundle which also included a wireless adapter but ultimately chose the Xbox because the adapter allows multiple wireless xbox one controllers whereas the PS4 adapter only allows one controller.

They are defective. I have a dead controller. They are not refurbished and certainly not tested. My xbox PC controller gets stuck every time within 5 minutes. Tried multiple batteries including Eneloop pros fully charged and verified working. Thought a fresh install of windows 10 would fix it but no dice. I work in I.T. so taking a moment to sit down and game is a rare thing :/

Using Insignia's Bluetooth 4.0 adapter with an Xbox One controller would produce a lot of latency in the controls, and even dropped the performance of any game I would play with he controller. Microsoft's own wireless adapter works with the Xbox One controller perfectly. There is virtually no lag, range is good, and it does not impede my game's performance. Wish I had this in the first place.

I use this controler to play xbox cross play games on my computer. Wow. Very good. It works as advertised. You do need the dongle with it, so make sure you get the one with the dongle attachment or you will not be able to pair it into the computer. Tip: make sure the controler if you are going to use it with usb or the dongle is in usb port 1. Consult your computer's manual for more info.

Bought this once I saw it was in stock. This was the only one in stock that came with the adapter. I like the versatility of being able to game plugged in while my batteries recharge. Also, the textured bottom helps with the gripping of the controller. The only CON is that I wish they had it in the 2-tone Blue I saw online somewhere else(no adapter was the deal breaker).

I like using a controller for PC gaming... this was plug and play and has worked exceptionally... very happy with purchase... it does go through batts pretty quick, probably 12 hours of gaming ish'... so probably for heavy gamer they may want rechargeable... I don't bother as they tend to last a few weeks for my low use, great unit!

Love the wireless capability. But batteries die quick so be sure to have rechargeable ones. Also controller is basic quality. I grip controller really hard while raiding in my ESO and it's beginning to ware down already after a few months. Would recommend upgrading to elite controller for the most hardcore gamers. Casual gaming this is perfect for tho.

Easy plug 'n play. The unit feels like it is solidly built, and the buttons and controls seem to be good quality. Optional rechargeable battery is a plus. My only complaint initially was that there is no off switch, but after converting to rechargeable battery that doesn't seem to be much of an issue.

Works well as a controller. Very responsive, and great for PC games. The issue I have is that sometimes if I have not used it for a while, I have to disconnect the dongle from the computer and re-connect it so that it recognizes the controller, but otherwise works well.

Good ergonomic design, though the vibration reaction is weak; guess it’s because it is battery operated. Also, careful how you hold it, it can slip if you’re not careful. Still get that runtime error from Windows though. Overall, great controller.

Works perfect: plug in adapter to a USB port on your PC, Windows will recognize and setup, put batteries in controller and turn on, syncs up and your in business! Also, one adapter will work for more than one controller.

Standard Xbox One controller with included wireless usb adaptor. Easy set-up Drivers should already be installed with updated Windows10 machine. May need to download Microsoft's Xbox One app to update controller firmware. Works great, decent battery life.
