I recently upgraded from the wired version, because of a fault with it's cable. It began to stop working when the cable was move to a certain angle. When I went to exchange they did not have any on the item floor (The employee made me go look and find it). I instead opted to bit my tongue and upgrade to the version with wireless receiver. I'm no stranger to controllers, having use every important one from Atari, to SNES, to the Dreamcast controller the Xbox controller borrowed most of it's design from. The Sony Dual Shock, Valve's Steam Controller, to my Vive Motion Controllers and soon my Leap Motion hand controllers. My opinion in this review will not reflect my single incident with a bad wire. It is hard to tell the difference between the Xbox One and the Xbox 360, and even more so on PC. The most striking difference between the two is the price. A wireless Xbox 360 Controller, with a rechargeable pack, can be found for less than a tethered Xbox One controller. I have tried to find a difference in them, the One and the 360 versions, and I have not found a single thing. The 360 was a decent controller, and could take a few hits which is good for a console controller for little kids. If you are reading this review, I am going to assume you are older than the average console gamer. The Xbox One controller using the PC receiver has no lag or problems of any sort (much like the 360). It seems sturdy, certainly less delicate than the Steam Controller, but not close to the features and customization the Steam Controller gives you. To be blunt, I have used the official Xbox controller on the PC simply because most PC games have native support for them. Other 3rd party controllers can run into many issues, and be inferior in quality. I had two Razer 360 Controllers which were just torn to pieces and useless after a year of normal use. They rubber from the thumb grips would rip. I am using a Razer keyboard and Mouse but I will never use a controller from them again. So the Xbox controller is a great choice for PC gaming. With Windows 10 already having the drivers for it, setting up a controller for PC gaming has never been easier. Any age group can handle it. It seems well made and performs perfectly well. The analog sticks on this controller will NOT rip off. That leads me to my final point. I cannot give the Xbox One controller with PC receiver anything more than a 3 because I simply don't think it is a big enough improvement over the 350 to warrant the current price gap. If it was just $15 I might change my mind, because it does feel better made, and I think that is what makes it cost more; The higher quality hardware. For the average PC gamer I recommend looking into a wireless Xbox 360 controller for PC gaming. It will serve you just as well. For those of you whom the difference in price is manageable, definitely go for the Xbox One. It has a higher quality to it, and PC games will continue to support it for the foreseeable future. Even if the controllers are no different than the 360. For the small percentage who want to try something new, complicated, but rewarding. Well I say get a Steam Controller. They are cheaper and more fragile, but infinitely more customization and useful in situations the standard controllers of today which all follow the same control scheme are not. For these reasons, I rate the Xbox One Controller with Wireless PC Receiver 3/5. I have no doubt it will become the standard for PC gaming in the future, but for right now save yourself some money by getting the 360 and put it towards a nice headset or something else.

Xbox One Controller goes Wireless for PC

Coming from the Xbox 360 controller, the Xbox One controller has always been a minor but useful improvement over the previous version. And just as when I borrowed the controller from my Xbox 360 and used with my PC, I've done the same with the Xbox One. Except that required a cable. Until now, that is. Microsoft had a wireless adapter for the Xbox 360 for PC, which I own, so it's only natural they had one for the PC. More specifically, Windows 10. It's works fairly straight forward. Plug in the large dongle to your PC, press the pairing button on both devices, and off you go. It really is that simple. With Windows 10, there are no drivers, no complicated steps. Just plug-n-play, as it should be. How is the gaming experience. It's actually exactly like it is on the Xbox itself. Which it to say, excellent. All the buttons and axis controls are smooth and responsive. Giving you the full range of control if the game of your choice. I tried a few games, such as Need for Speed and Driver via Steam Big Screen, and they all worked perfectly. One extra item worth noting is the Xbox Button in Win10. It gives you the option of opening the "game bar." This gives you quick access to Xbox Games, Recording, etc. Very convenient. Too bad it can't be configured to open Steam. Otherwise, this works exactly as you'd expect. I just wish the dongle were a bit smaller, for notebook use. I consider this highly recommended for any Xbox or PC gamer. After-all, it'll work on both!

This controller is very good and is supposed to be better then its old 360 controller it will replace.. But it has a few issues. Its main issue is just how light and cheap feeling it is. The old controller was heavier and this new one is supposed to be more ergonomic and easier to game, but it felt flimsy and cheap compared to the old 360 model. It also just felt like some of the white/black buttons are harder to push as they are smaller. One last gripe would be how it sounds like rattling cheap plastic when you move it around. I like its power management though but its not as good for steam as the 360 controller. Overall its not worth the extra dough I think, unless you get it on sale. I was able to find an ad for amazon selling the controller for 50 bucks and bb honored it.

I bought this on sale at best buy. It's the first gen controller from xbox one and was purchased with intent to play it on my PC. This is one of the finer controllers for PC gaming especially for it's price point. I would rate it a 3.5 but since that is not an option, I have given it a 4. This is so you know it's good, but not great. This controller is currently on it's 3rd release as of 2017. The 2nd edition really made significant improvements on this, which is the true 4 star but again, this was on sale and is excellent for it's price. If you want a 5 star gaming controller, you will feel a difference when you try the elite or a higher ended brand.

The controller itself is easy to set up and it works amazingly good (wireless on win 10) and its build quality is very nice too, all nice things expected from an xbox product. But why 3 stars? Its a fault on microsoft, not Best Buys fault! I don't want to shell out $80+ on a game controller that needs a dongle to be wireless. Build Quality 10/10 Materials 10/10 Comfortability/Ergonomics 10/10 Responsiveness/Functionality 10/10 Value ( Are you paying for what you get?) 2/10 Amazing controller. Unreasonably crippling high price.

Easy to setup. I use the controller on both my Xbox One and on my PC running Windows 10. You'll need the proper USB cable for the controller when moving it from your Windows 10 setup back to the Xbox One. Once connected, the controller will sync with the Xbox One and you can go wireless again. Line of sight for the provided dongle for Windows 10 is recommended and prevents most drops. I play mostly racing and simulation games and the response is good enough for those kinds of games. I can't really speak to games that require very fast response times like Battlefield or Call of Duty type games.. Definitely pleased with purchase.

    The Standard for PC Controls

This is basically the standard to get for PC gaming. The controller is a huge leap up from the Xbox 360 and works out of the box on Windows PCs. The included dongle is great as it not only works with the "older" Xbox One controllers but the newer bluetooth ones as well giving those better latency. The controller itself feels great with typical MS quality. The analog sticks can have some well-known issues but it's easy to fix if needed. The included dongle can support up to, I think, 8 controllers. It's a little large so you may need a usb extension if your usb ports are super close together.

If you own a XBox One, you know how great this gamepad is. If you don't, just know that this controller gets the job done, it's comfortable, responsive, and just feels good. I play Battlefield 4 & Fallout 4 on this controller, and I can't imagine complaining about any of it. Just be careful though. I did drop it once accidentally, on a hard surface, and it did have some difficulty maintaining a signal with the receiver afterward. I'm not sure what I did, but it's back to being 100%. So, I cannot help but be happy again.

Microsoft Makes great controllers for their consoles, it's great that they offer them on PC, While the price was on the steep end for the controller with adapter, you should know that it's a well built controller. My only gripe is that the impulse triggers arent configurable nor do any games that I've played take advantage of them. I don't know if it's a driver thing or if it's not considered by PC Devs. That's the only thing keeping it from being a perfect review.

I was hoping to use the wireless adapter with Steam Link, but realized too late that the wireless adapter only works with Windows right now. So for now, I'm using the controller wired with my host PC, and it works great. Comfy, audio works with the headset jack, and no configuration beyond a firmware update. I'm hoping the wireless works as well as others have reported, but for now, the controller is great and I hope to use the adapter with a Steam Link in the future.

My living room game machine (PC) is just far enough from the couch to make wired controllers impossible. This one syncs easily, has no lag on the controls, great triggers and great sensitivity. It's definitely the better controller. I have 2. The great deal is to buy the one with the PC fob first and then any of these work. The wireless usb fob allows up to 4 to be run at the same time so you've got full online, MMO, or coop gaming. It's a good controller no doubt.

XBox 360 controllers are hard to beat in terms of quality, ergonomics, and reliability. But Microsoft stepped up their game with better RB and LB buttons, smoother trigger stop feel, rumble motor for each trigger, and headphone audio support all while still being great in the ladder. The best controller for your PC as well. The standard in controllers. Period.

I wanted a xbone controller that could be used for my Win10 PC. Staples had the best price I could find for a genuine Microsoft product and Best Buy matched the price. The service was great. I tried to pull up the advertisement on my phone to get the price match but was having difficulty and the service associate looked up the advertisement on my behalf. The controller works great.

I did some research and I found this at a very reasonable price. I didn't want to use the wired ones anymore because they're too bulky. I use it for PC gaming and it works flawlessly. The only thing that I don't like is that the adapter is a little too big 1x3 inches. other than that, it is an amazing controller. I have used it for hours at a time with no issues. I highly recommend it.

I bought this controller certified used, and the battery compartment came in corroded. However, even then, the game selection on Windows 10 is limited as compared to an actual Xbox game. Make sure the game you want is available before purchasing. Also, you can buy the white controller and use the Bluetooth with Windows 10 vs. spending the extra money on this controller with adapter.

So I already have an Xbox One S Controller with bluetooth support. However, I needed the adapter because I was having some issues and connecting multiple controllers just wasn't working for me. I still prefer the updated feel of the One S Controller, but the old one is still really nice. Anyways, the adapter is GREAT!!!!!! Definitely buy this if you need it.

The controller feels wonderful. I prefer it so much compared to the ps4 controller. And for the PC? Nothing better. That said, it disconnects often (super annoying) on Win 10. I've messed with the drivers a ton, and don't seem to be getting anywhere. I have to reconnect the controller to the wireless adapter to get any kind of long time playing session going. Bummer.

I was having problems with my wireless Xbox 360 controller and the receiver I have been using for my PC. It would often connect than disconnect and the drivers were a pain. This one was pretty simple: plug in the USB adapter to my Windows 10 PC, let it install the driver, sync the controller and you're ready to go. It even came with 2 AA batteries off the start.

Its a good controller that fits my somewhat big hands comfortably but i don't like the analog sticks on these. The 360 controller had perfect sticks because of the stiffness that they came with out of the box but this controller took a page from the ps3 controller and i personally don't like it but its still an excellent controller for pc couch gaming.
